This was going to be just a small 'test video' in preparation for the circlestrafing tutorial but i kept finding problems and solutions for c2c until i figured its full potential, it was quite the journey and decided to make the video in an order based on how i discovered things(problems and solutions and problems again..) to show the long process ive been through with this thing. its been worth it since its just that good.
cornerstabs have been a problem for awhile now, cant believe nobody labeled a solution like this before.
i had the idea for this video awhile back and started working on it around 6 months ago, it was finished around that time but i could'nt voice it, i just had to struggle with my mic. then i finally got this mic from my school and finished it all in 1 day.. 6 months of struggle ended yesterday, cant really believe it.
(also dissy helped me with some clips but hes not important 8)
Peoples patterns in corners:
Runs blindly- cornerstab
Takes corner slightly wide-wide cornerstab
Takes corner tightly then backs off- cornerstab\keep strafing for a second click
Takes corner wide- C²C(2)
Takes corner wide then backs off-C²C(1)
this stab is seriously easy to learn, we have no more reason going for cornerstabs.
Music:
Naruto: Raikiri
Code geass: Madder sky
Naruto: Sasuke's Destiny
Oban The Big Star Race: Soundtrack 16
Crisis: Theme\insertion\Epilogue mix.
The small ² is for E², never forget.
Watching this video today feels like uncovering ancient wisdom from forgotten times. Thanks CRD.
it really is XD

Good thing hardly anyone knows about your channel. Your secret is safe with us :)
But now a lot of TF2 players does cause, Mr. Paladin linked this to teach his how to do the stabs :3 I am one of those subscribers.
+NightcoreLover I can't seem to find what video he did that on can you link me?
+NightcoreLover Can u send me a link to the Mr p video that talks about crd plz. I don't know which it is
ouch
“Good thing hardly anyone knows of your channel. Your secret is safe with me.”
You are a failure of a human being by gatekeeping quality information from people. It is human nature to desire to learn. I hope you’ve fixed that mentality in the 7 years since you’ve commented this.
Very nice tutorial CulRulDud
Still waiting for your circle strafe stab :-)
I'm glad I helped you my friend, always welcome!

You just outdid yourself, this isn't simply about video games now, this is pure psychology. The thing that was really epic about this video was the fact that you coulda just said that cornerstabs are not viable anymore and that we shouldn't go for them, but instead, you analyzed the situation, saw what was wrong and tweaked it so it could work again. Fucking awesome work my friend, I don't know why this doesn't have 45 bagillion views, because it's simply amazing. Watching your videos felt like SubtleArt all over again...
added ya lel
If you want to see s psychological spy look up TF2Slurgi's videos.
I prefere more the kind of highlander povs with analysis on them than pubs, and if i'd check that up i'd rewatch subtleart's videos, they're truly the best.
Thats all spy is...
omg this guy needs more views and subscribers...
It's awesome listening to this from your perspective. You get kind of a Sherlock Holmes feeling :p Very useful! thanks
glad you liked it:)
Easy to learn, easy to execute. Amazing!
Btw, nice voice, id love to have you as a teacher...so....inspirational
thanks^^ i'll be happy to play with you sometime.
would you now?
IF ur serious, my steam name is ŠṖƟƟXȚĘŘ
add meh we co spy
+HU6A I think you meant to post this in the Mr. Palladin comment section.
Mr. Paladin's recent video brought me here and I have to say, this was the most amazing away to explain to us spies in the field how to counter the counter. Thank you so much, you truly are a worth member of the community.
Late comment I know, but this is a great video. Watched it a number of times already; as a pretty new spy with only ~400 hours in the class, using this has really taught me how to apply circlestrafing in general, not just in corners, and let me get some stabs even in Highlander that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. C2C may not really be a "new" trick, but by simplifying it and teaching it like this, you've really done a great thing for newer Spies like myself.
(was reminded of this because I made friends with a UGC Silver Pyro the other day by getting some revenge on him using this and your "quickstab circlestrafe" trick, thought I'd drop some praise since you deserve it for putting in the work to teach us newer spies this stuff.)
I'm so proud this video is finally getting the credit it deserves, nearing 10,000 views! This is the video that you put your best into, I salute you.
A key part of this that CRD mentioned, but didn't explain is that when you backup in TF2, you move 10% lower than if you were moving forward or strafing. This is why he gets behind players; he is strafing into them while they are backing up. Because of this, they are moving slightly slower than he is and he can get just far enough behind them to get the stab.
Exactly. Spy moves faster than other classes
@@nexor7809 A lot of this footage is from before the update that made Spy move faster, back when Spy moves at the same speed as Sniper, Engi, and Pyro. He gets behind them because by moving sideways instead of backwards he isn't receiving the 10% speed penalty
Whoa, I remember getting stabbed like that at 18:18 and thinking it was a normal cornerstab somehow... I didn't know this was your invention. I have to say, really great vid and thought process behind these stabs. I don't feel bad about getting caught in your tricks now. Congrats.
Thanks dude. it was really fun playing with you^^.
amazing tips CRD, this vid needs a two or three more zeroes at the end of the views counter.
Even the audio mixing in the video makes him sound like hes right behind you, he truly is the greatest spy ever
Also I love how you make your voice comms sound so heroic, haha. Turn up the music at the spot where you come to a conclusion and such.
bro, I feel like anytime I watch culruldud, I feel like brain just exploded with knowledge. Love your vids
I'm amased! I can't get over this. My corners finally helping again and I'm getting kicked from pubs again :3 Big thanks CulRulDude you are a very Cul Dude!
My left ear enjoyed this
even in 2021 this guy's trickstab tutorials are still the best
Not exactly "trick". You don't fool people, you counter their movement by using thecorresponding circle strafe.
@@quattrobajeena8954 Which is exactly why its the best, it forgoes the need to outthink the other player, it works on anybody.
I don't care what the others say! You are the best spy!
He could be the competition to lategum
And slurgi
CRD, I can't describe how grateful I am to you for releasing videos about your trickstabs. I mean, you could have just decided not to and stay the best trickstabber ever without anyone knowing how you kill them. Instead you chose to help your fellow sphee and show us your moves. For that I wanted to say thank you
Oh my God. This was my first video of you and you paralyzed me with your speech. Wow man, thx for all these tips and tricks. You just got a new subscriber.
Almost got this multiple times today, I was just a little too hesitant at some parts.
This video is the best video related to Team Fortress ever.
Ay, I got two of them today!
You are truly a legend to all spies. This video has just increased my skill greatly, you are one heck of a beast.
I swear I've watched this video like 40 times and I still find stuff to learn from it
I'm watching this again and again from 2015 because i love CRD's voice ;)
still a masterpiece
Thanks so much, I have been having problems with corners for a while now, especially when I'm trying to lure a pyro, this is a great video, easy to understand and easy to use in game. Great job!
This is so top secret that the video won't even play the voice comm. audio at all
I will work if you use headphones
Why tho
My right ear enjoyed it.
Goddamnit man. Stop being so epic
ruclips.net/video/uhsXLwjzoE4/видео.html
13:15 interesting to see the seeds of the cstrafe tutorial already at work with "strafing around"
lol same
yeah he only developed his playstyle with the theory. you can see the horrible long term effects that did in his videos. never learned to matador correctly.
This video is FREAKING LEGENDARY!
Genius, works every time, if it doesn't work you aren't doing it right. Unusual hats off to CRD for this.
Excellent and fantastic, I love the way that people are still innovating and adapting even as the larger community adjusts to our trickstabs
Poor dissy, getting scolded by crd for taking wide corners like that :P Teach me in game pls? Haha
lmao
watching this video is like hearing that there is a cure for cancer it blows your mins
CulRulDud, I just wanted to mention corner stabs still work on both new and old players, it just depends on how you execute them, though this is great for when they fail, and I thank you for this neat trick to add to add to my assortment :3
tru stury, i cried.
This is actually a really good strategy. My original strategy is to just get them impatient. If a pyro has been chasing you for 3 minutes, he'll just skip around that corner since he'll assume I'll run. This is a defensive counter attack
Really Nice vid, these kinda videos is what made me play tf2 :) now i have over 530 hours played as spy. At the time there where plenty of educational videos of trickstabbing and movement, but now there isnt. I Appreciate these vids thx for making em.
I pulled of my very first C2C yesterday on a pyro :D
i just feel like i watched a 20 min commercial for a stab
Aysam MF lul
This is scary how someone even thought of this.
The audio is a bit weird, seems to be mostly coming from my left speaker.
And nono, thank YOU for making this :3
The most notable thing about really good spies that they know how to adapt to the psych of the players they are going against better than any other class mains.
This is really great! I love how you explained it so well with just words... and tons and tons of actually successful stabs! :D
words? All I'm hearing is static XD
+Islarf Darren, you watching from phone? That's probably the reason; either that or sound from your pc is mono
This guy is easily the best spy in tf2 right now.
John Zarbib he is the best ive ever seen
never in my tf2 career have I seen a spy performing these stabs or using his intuition and creativity its awesome!!!
I feel like spies invent tricks all the time, i actually heard of c2c, but never knew what it was, despite doing these stabs (corner within a corner, is what i called it once). Nice job in compiling all aspects of this though, it was really organized. purdy good stuffs.
All the spy stabs have been around forever people are just naming them these days... Anyways the video was very nicely put together
These are the funnest things, nobody expects the c2c. I personally call it the cornador.
True, learned this a few months and when i saw all these scouts strafing around corners i could finally counter the tryhard unusualiness.
I love the corner to matador stab, it's basically a double trick stab. Also, when fighting someone melee, I suggest moving side to side wildly in an attempt to get a good side stab, they'll never see what angle you're trying to get at.
Some of these stabs basically look like one of the circle strafe levels
You mentioned in the video that the first iteration of this stab is a (pseudo) corner stab with a back-pedalling stab, and the second a (pseudo) corner stab with the 4th variation of circle strafing. I think C2C isn't a trickstab. I guess we could call it a "combo stab", which uses different trickstab techniques to perform a creative and efficient way of murdering an enemy (wow =P). So, "Counter to Counter" should be a combo stab. Don't know if this type was already used, but if not, I just made that one up!
A trickstab summed up is basically getting behind a player or manipulating a player to show their back, so this is a trickstab although I do see your point... I think its both but it falls under trickstab because its a way to manipulate the player to expose their back! Combo stab sounds cool though d:
Great way to utilize corners if the enemy suspects a cornerstab. CRD is the king of trickstabs :D
when is this coming to cinemas? :)
probably in this summer
Res| tf2 THIS SUMMER..

***** The film got cancelled.
This music makes this video 10x more better than it already is ;-;

Self Assisted Stabs (Week In replay) 15:30
because of you man i owned everyone and got used to it
Holy hell most epic video I've ever seen!!! Dat soundtrack 😂
wow...according to the date on the video....this tutorial was made 1004 years ago!
Bloom HD maybe it was when knife battles were still commen.
This inspirational music makes me wanna try it. But when I do, fail...
We need a running tally of how many times sgt sloth gets stabbed throughout these vids
Anyone watching in 2016 ? C:
+Runyx TF2 Yus
+Ninja Nuclear ayy
Runyx TF2 I never sleep :/
+Ninja Nuclear a fully charged phone = no sleep
Runyx TF2 That and friends who don't understand moonwalk stabs
7:05 That epic music base hitting so goddamn right
Today there was a very cocky soldier on borneo. "Only dumbass f2ps fall for trickstabs."
I proved him so wrong with this.
+Lifemarr lol, what was his reaction?
He left after a telestab right outside of spawn, and a c2c right when he respawned. It was lovely.
Lifemarr haha
Lifemarr Man. Why do people always think F2Ps suck? How much money you have doesn't determine your skill level.
Creating new trickstabs..Awesome.He's too underrated sadly :/
But I love him, keep up the good work!
Holy crap you are amazing
They evolve, we evolve
An actually good spy tutorial. We dont see these often.
The 6 pixels on the screen that I saw were really good.
Im happy i found how to listen to your comentary :)
This is great you are a true innovator.
I try end these stabs before, but I didn't know it wasn't a stab, other wise I would have made a video of them before
First thing I noticed is that I only trickstab when I have to. Mostly with low health, so its kinda hard to pull off this amazing stab with 50% of your health.
So it is like a circle strafe or moonwalk that utilizes the corner to easily approached the enemy
amazing trickstabs once again my friend :)
Dude i keep seeing a bunch of spy main youtubers praising your videos in the comments- great guys like HU6A, and Irish Spy.
OMG i just found out the problem with my matador stabs, just like in 7.00 the opponents keep moving the way they are finally know how to counter them, thx
nice, this is the kind of eye i want people to have, realizing how movement works and applying it to the game.
Matador = keep pressing A and D till the enemy looks at you one way, then you move to their side and get a sidestab or what looks like a facestab. Honestly very simple and works on even seasoned players, hell I was able to get some on my friend who is in a professional team, the only hard stabs to get are stairstabs(because of how easy they are to see coming unless it is a very low incline), and understabs(because of how situational they are, and how hard they are to set up).
no sometimes they run up too fast and attack ur side, in which case c2c #2 would work
Me too.
:D
***** erm just a quick clarification. Should i Completely kick the habit of corner stabs like always go for c2c#1 and if it fails go for #2? Because i still find people falling for corner stabs and as your video states, if they dont i go into a gun fight with them.
This is gonna be hard for me because I have lots of habits to break.
1.Stop the corner stabs of course
2. I'm always moving my mouse to the right instead of turning it where it's supposed to be.
And 3. Is being to nervous and can't approach the enemy but flee with the dead ringer :(
I think that this video is amazing and all because I generally understood, but why is it that no one is talking about how you can barely hear him?
Especially since when he said that something was important, something in-game would be louder or music would start and it is impossible to hear him :(
Tylermike75 Put on headphones
Was the voice sounding like it's behind me on purpose because the spy is always behind you
i miss the old spy commentary like you and so many others
corner stabs work all the time. Just don't stare at your opponent, try not to let him see you in the first place, and use your gun first so he doesn't expect a knife.
RIP C2C
Welp,had a good run anyway
Time to think about C4C now
gg never forgetti
+Thinki Ninji Why rip? Only guys who playing with CRD perfectly counter this. Or not?
Plot twist: We're all just using this against casual players that accidentally execute spy counters because of their lack of refined movement.
This is a prequel to Circle Strafe Stab.
7:50 huh, that wasn’t actually a level 4 stab (as you would call it later) but an _extremely_ well-timed level 1 stab
Is that music from Code Geass? It's making me sad reminding me of the ending.
I thought I was the only one that knew about this. God damit now you everyone knows... ;(
.... ok.
you sound so happy when you say bckwards at 7:05
I like this video, thanks for uploading, would like to see more of your art. (trickstabs) :p
Anyone else notice his reticle changes to purple whenever it goes over an enemy?
It's a cross hair script where it changes colour based on what keys you press
Where's the commentary?
Wait what the heck I can't hear your voice on moblie but it works on PC
You are a god.
16:30 he should've went for the 1st version of c2c right? Just making sure i understand this vid
There's a really weird problem with this video, when i watched it on my pc everything was good but when i watched it on my phone your voice just became some blur in the background, really wierd
Yeah I can't hear any voice
Yes i cant hear properly on phone its so blury and he sounds like a robot. Sometimes i dont even hear him.
...I am speechless C2C the best way to stab
Great vid, but please lower the in game volume or boost your mic, I couldn't hear you :(
but on pubs now i still pull off corner stabs like a charm. so it isnt as common to back off or go wide when they chase a spy through a corner as you've said.
Felt like I was listening to a 20 min ad
PRO TIP:99% of the times scouts will back off so try the second version
I almost wish this video doesn't get super popular, so people don't wise up to c2c.
I remember when me and CRD practised these 2/3 years ago!
Let's add another trickstab to the collection >:)
PRACTICE TIME
8:09 , Haha I finally see the arrow after watching your videos like 7 times. But damn, it's so hard to see. I think it's more like reverse V or /\ than an arrow.
