Review was rubbish like most of reviews on internet, a lot of talking, no real facts, really disappointed. Why cant they load them fully, 5guys+500kg in the back + 2ton trailer, take an acceleration and braking test, measure noise and vibration with actual equipment on rough road empty and max loaded, take small off road course, and show all this on video so there would be a point watching it, which would be something we as a customer can not do until we actually buy the thing. Please exclude twins because they are just a different badge and trim level, we all know they perform the same way, putting them on the test is just waste of time. If anybody has ever seen a good review on youtube please put a link.

I remember working at a diesel repair shop and every day there would be a Navara come in.
Admittedly older versions but the engineering was so so bad.
The engine was placed so close to the firewall customers complained of knocks when it was the actual engine bashing the firewall.
Injector issues, chassis cracks, tray mounts shearing off.
With that in mind I can only imagine the Mercedes has taken an already badly designed cheaply built ute and added it's credentials of horrendous reliability and electrical issues on top, as well as premium purchase and repair costs with higher depreciation.

Ranger would have been great of Ford wasn't so greedy. They purposely put that stupid oil pump in so it won't prime if you let the oil drain completely during an oil change so the engine blows. Now people are too scared to do their own oil changes they pay Ford $390 for it.
The new Raptor 2.l engine has a belt driven oil pump inside the crankcase oil....A BELT! the same as its timing belt. Sealed inside the engine oil. And an internal EGR system which needs a new head every time it gets blocked... Every 5 years or so.

Dmax hilux and amarok not so.
I got a ranger only issue in 3 years fingers crossed is a blown intercooler hose. Tows very well fuel economy round town is ok but on highway is great. And it's pretty good offroad aswel.
The 5 year unlimited warranty is tempting. Im due a replacement now and was waiting out for ford to put the 3l v6 diesel in next ranger but looks like no go. So not sure what ill do now maybe see what the merc v6 goes like.

I’ve owned a BT50 coming up to 3 years now and in that time I’ve had no problems what so ever with its reliability, no engine, turbo , gearbox , drivetrain or the so called dpf issues that people seem to quote all the time. As a tradesmen myself, I am in contact with a lot of other guys in trade with a wide range of Utes and most , if not all of them are not having these so called problems that the doomsday sayers go on about , but in saying that there is the odd one here and there at times but that does not make all of a manufacturers product defect because of one or two issues from time to time. Seems like a lot people latch on to one issue a manufacturer may have had with a couple of vehicles here and there and the bloody sky has fallen down for them and that’s it for that make or model of ute ,its shit from then on in !! Rather a funny outlook if you ask me .😎 that’s what a vehicles warranty is to cover if any issues arise.

      @dynamicd4680 6 лет назад

      Dra Tempest
yeah too true. The keyboard warriors.
I'm just saying we have issues with our fleet atm. All the Toyota's prior to these new ones only one ever had issue and that was a fuel pump on a prado it had 380k on clock. We got one that is 2.5 years old with nearly 450k on clock and no issues at all apart from wheel bearings but that's wear and tear item and that was at 350k. They were very good vehicles.
I love my ranger, there are 6 of us at work with them as our private cars and mine is only one that has had an issue. The intercooler hose.
One of the girls has a bt50 and it does alot of towing at max gcm and it has done an auto. But Mazda were amazing to deal with apparently and she said they went above and beyond. Both on the phone Mazda australia and the dealer.
I know quiet a few with bt50 and that's only major issue and the other was the air con dual zone controls would click. All fixed no questions asked.
My ford dealer wasn't and still isn't that marvellous to deal with and this last ute I never bought locally because of them.
My oldies have a Colorado and they love it. It tows their van well. Gets better economy then mine but I don't feel it's in same league as mine. It's not this last updated model tho. It doesn't burn any oil like some do. Dad's best friend has one and it was burning oil but they changed the weight and viscosity of oil and its fine now.
Just get a new ranger and be done with it and you missed out on the free bbq deal they had going aswel they fixed that fire issue haha.
Cheers mate 😁 and good luck

Pourquoi acheter une X-class ou une Alaskan...? Pff 😓
Pourquoi pas une Navara qui coûte moins chère.., en plus ça reste le King parmis les trois..,
De même pour la Triton et la Fulback..., 😏

Apples oranges and dog turds. All dirrerent classes and levels of trim, no towing 2.5 ton test which is where most all of these get used. Take this review like a grain of salt as its by far not the best for these vehicles.

Are you kidding me? Once again the Hilux / Landcruiser "Cool Aid" has been consumed. You guys seriously chose the HiLux out of all those utes??! Lets see: Bland? Tick. Underpowered? Tick. Uncomfortable? Tick. Conservative? Tick. Overpriced? Tick. .....look at all those ticks....must be a Toyota then! So all Toyota has to do is create a "perception" of reliability & toughness (they're actually no tougher than any other ute) and then they can produce a sub-par product year after year & everyone loves it? Cool Aid.

I guess you missed their criteria, these aren't the top of the range utes they're testing, they're the low to middle of the range work/fleet orientated utes so hence why they did not get the V6 Amarok, they didn't even go for the SR Hilux which is another work orientated ute, the 2.8 diesel in the SR would have been a better competitor however the workmate is a great no frills ute that just gets the job done.
Seems like we have a bunch of pussies buying utes now sadly, can't handle a bit of rough and toughness the old basic utes had, imagine if these clowns had to drive or review trucks, goodness me they couldn't cope, no climate control air con, limited seat positions, hard ride, sluggish acceleration...
