    Absolutely stunning, I'm so happy someone has done this project, as I told my husband that I wanted to try this, which I thought of but being
    a beginner, I knew what I wanted and was trying to figure the process. And wow here's someone who has
    done it . Thank you. You've my life
    easier. I'm doing colorfull mandalas, and a dragon with copper color inlay
    I also have tree of life, but not as nice as yours. All above are ready for the carbon process. Thank you so much. From Canada .Your tutorials are so inspiring. .I will subscribe.

    Hi Shane. New sub having stumbled upon your channel. Some great router and scrollsaw work on your channel. :)
    Helpful hint (i learned from my own trials and errors with resin)...... Rather than pouring B into A...If you pour the thicker part A resin into the the thinner part B hardener (ideally right into the middle of the cup of hardener), you are much less likely to get unmixed resin stuck to the sides of the cup as it's the thinner part B sitting at the edges rather than the thicker stickier part A. (Especially as you're not decanting into a 3rd cup).
    I'm not being a RUclips armchair expert or keyboard warrior, I just though I'd mention it in case it helps / reduces the chance of any little bits of mix that don't cure properly.
    Thanks again Shane. Your work has given me inspiration. :)

    • @fishtank5050
      @fishtank5050  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for the sub,I suppose we all have our ways of doing things, I did away with the third cup a while back,just don't see the point in wasting a cup,I found that B pours alot easier then A..I had one mix that set as I was mixing it,I've no idea why,but very strange, only happened the once..🤣🤣

    Absolutely beautiful finished product showing attention to detail. I'm amazed that that when filling even the smallest routed areas the resin remained in those areas and did not spill over onto the higher level wood surface. Question, had you had a spill over outside the routed area would the crystal clear finish you applied earlier enable you to just wipe it clean?

    • @fishtank5050
      @fishtank5050  3 года назад

      Thank you Alan,because the routed out branches are so thin its harder for the resin to flow,that's why I use a cocktail stick to help it on its way,if you get resin on the wood you can just wipe it off with a tissue ,it makes no difference if the wood is sprayed or not,it wipes of bear untreated wood just as easy...

    Does the resin still bond to the piece well with the linseed oil and clear-coat underneath it? Seems like a great way to get a sealant coat underneath it to prevent bubbles and color bleeding into the grain, but does it bond as well as to bare wood?

    • @fishtank5050
      @fishtank5050  2 года назад +1

      Thank you ,yes the resin bonds solid with no issues ,the varnish definitely helps to seal the wood at the same time,I did a sample and varnished afterwards and it made the resin go dull,definitely coat before resin goes in..
