Many thanks and fabulous work 👍

@@VijayaBjoshi Don't be fooled by the modern techniques, carpenters, particularly cabinet and instrument makers have used variations on this technique for hundreds of years and they survive today, some examples of inlays are thought to date back as far as 4500 years, although they are in stone rather than wood.

What kind of toolpath do you use to create the extruded inlay portion (the walnut) I’ve been trying to contour with the 15° bit and trace but it cuts off way too much. If I try to use the engrave feature on fusion it cuts too much material off as well.

on the tapered ballnose bit...quick question...how does it get all the way to the final depth without distorting the super fine lines of parts of the piece? Or does it distort them? I ran a 1/8" end mill for clearance then changed the bit to a spetool .5mm diameter tapered ball nose bit with 1/8" shank and let it run overnight and came back this morning and it had stopped...I cant figure out why...it stopped in the super tiny lines of a very fine vector almost like it couldnt reach the final cut depth without distorting the edges of the vector...does it know that and that is why is stopped? or should it just have kept running passes and widening the vectors (due to the taper) until it reached the final depth? please let me know thanks

like the whiskers for example is that depth consistent with the rest of the inlay? how does it get that deep without making the whiskers wider due to the taper?
