    Nicely done, very much so nicely done. Watched someone else do the same thing but its a night and day with your routing and finish. The CNC bits did a great job, the other person used a V bit as wide as the letters so end result was alot of chisel carving and uneven depths along with non exact cuts. These bits are perfect, I dont know I would have thought of that. Hopefully I can hold these old hands steady enough but I guess we'll find out. Nicely done, very nicely done.

    Another great project Shane. May I ask, when you apply the linseed oil do you go over the black paint in the letters as well? Just to clarify for me if routing outset letters you route to the outside of the letter and inset letters route on the inside. Keep up the great work buddy, love watching your videos.

    • @fishtank5050
      @fishtank5050  3 года назад

      Thanks Mike, I tend to go over the whole project with the linseed oil,it won't do the black paint any harm and it all dries the same..like you say outset is outside the lettering, basically removing the back piece,and inset is just removing the inside of the letters ,if you check my latest video, beach life sign I mention inset and outset..

    This is an attractive sign. I love the font. I was a little puzzled as to how you were going to do the plank effect. I thought that you were you going to ruin the sign with the additional routed lines. It was really quite simple, wasn't it? You just didn't route as deep a line when you cut the plank effect. It's amazing what a simple bloke like me learns everyday here on RUclips. Thanks for the video. I love everything that you do.

      Hi Bill,depth is something I've never really checked, I've a scrap piece of wood with different depths routed out,and I just set my bit to what I think looks right...

    I noticed that there were two cables going to your router, I was just wondering why? Could you also tell me where you get the collet to fit the cnc bits?

    • @fishtank5050
      @fishtank5050  5 лет назад

      Well spotted with the two cables,one is a airline that's connected to a mini compressor under my table,I use a foot pressure pad and tap it so the air blows the dust away, I used to use a brush,the air works great..I'm going to do a video to show it..
