Nicely done, very much so nicely done. Watched someone else do the same thing but its a night and day with your routing and finish. The CNC bits did a great job, the other person used a V bit as wide as the letters so end result was alot of chisel carving and uneven depths along with non exact cuts. These bits are perfect, I dont know I would have thought of that. Hopefully I can hold these old hands steady enough but I guess we'll find out. Nicely done, very nicely done.

Thankyou, I get most of my bits from Ebay or Amazon, search cnc router bits, the collet is a 6.35mm to 3.175mm adapter reducer collet also Ebay,cnc bits come in different degrees, you can get a mixed pack with 10°,15°,20°,30° in side..

Another great project Shane. May I ask, when you apply the linseed oil do you go over the black paint in the letters as well? Just to clarify for me if routing outset letters you route to the outside of the letter and inset letters route on the inside. Keep up the great work buddy, love watching your videos.
Thanks Mike, I tend to go over the whole project with the linseed oil,it won't do the black paint any harm and it all dries the same..like you say outset is outside the lettering, basically removing the back piece,and inset is just removing the inside of the letters ,if you check my latest video, beach life sign I mention inset and outset..

Loved the video, but I have 1 question. When you routed the horizontal lines from side to side, did you stop the router right where the painted area was, or did you have the router set more shallow so it didn't disrupt the painted area? Thanks for taking the time to make it! Doug
Thank you Doug,on this one I had the lettering routed out slightly lower then the lines,I suppose you could do the lines at deeper depth then the lettering, then paint afterwards ,either way would work..😁👍
nice job shane do you find it easier without using the plunge on your router i have always used the plunge when routing will give your way a try regards and never tried the milling ends you have been trying out they appear to leave a nice even finish without the need to then tidy up with dremmel
Cheers Wayne,I've not used the plunge for years now,I did at the beginning on a bigger router,but the one I have now is so small and light,its easier just to lift it in and out..I ordered the mill end bits by mistake, glad I did,they do clear out really good...

I've never had a vacuum, I wish I did..on my older videos I just brush the dust away,you dont get alot with pine.but now I have a mini compressor with an airline that runs up to the router.you can see the tube in the video, now when I need to clean I just blow it away by tapping my foot on a pad on the floor...works great.

This is an attractive sign. I love the font. I was a little puzzled as to how you were going to do the plank effect. I thought that you were you going to ruin the sign with the additional routed lines. It was really quite simple, wasn't it? You just didn't route as deep a line when you cut the plank effect. Well spotted with the two cables,one is a airline that's connected to a mini compressor under my table,I use a foot pressure pad and tap it so the air blows the dust away, I used to use a brush,the air works great..I'm going to do a video to show it..
