    I just got mine, and was VERY intimidated about the whole CPAP/APAP therapy experience, but after gently reading all the documentation, I finally plugged the thing in, tried it out, and against my apprehensions, slept through the whole night with just the default settings! One thing I can advise, to get yourself comfortable and familiar with any of these beasts, is just put it on in the daytime when you're not going to sleep, and mess around with it. You'll find the more you familiarize with its simple controls and basic comfort settings, the less intimidating it becomes. This is a beautiful machine, it runs so whisper-smooth, I love it! Looking forward to better health, even now the first day after waking from it, I feel a bit less dragged out already!

      @@LaShar88 Laquita!! Do not be intimidated!! I know its wierd at first, but be sure to set the RAMP setting to go for a half hour-ish, and start out at a very low initial ramp pressure (iPR) so it doesnt come on like a hurricane when you first mask up. Also, here's a cool mental picture which helped me stop fighting AGAINST it, and start working WITH it - I imagine I'm a scuba diver, in a beautiful lagoon.. going to sleep.. and the cpap is your oxygen supply that you trust to breathe through, and keep you safe and comfortable... anyway, that worked for me my first night. Trust me.. it gets ALOT easier, and eventually you will be MORE uncomfortable sleeping without it!

    I just got mine this week. It feels like a vent in that it pushes the air into me when I breathe in. The problem is, it thinks it knows when I'm going to breathe and what part of the respiratory cycle I'm in. It cuts out giving me air sometimes or tries to give me air before I'm breathing in. I find I'm fighting with this thing to breathe. I woke up breathing very fast because I was fighting it in my sleep. I was breathing about once per second. I can't find any setting to help me with this. What am I doing wrong? During the mask fit, it even tells me I'm having fit problems when it starts to vent me. I'm hating this machine right now...so much that I'm ready to sleep without it. I have been using the Dreamstation for years and never had any problems with it so it isn't that I don't know what a CPAP feels like.

      My recommendation is to adjust the IPR setting. For many of our customers that adjustment has made a huge difference on the iBreeze. Video demonstrating that below.
      ruclips.net/video/F1C6BdQs8v0/видео.html

    • @PlanetEntropy
      @PlanetEntropy 2 года назад +2

      I’m a first time cpap user on day 3 of the ibreeze, and experiencing the EXACT same issue as you, where I feel like the machine tries to match pressure to your respiratory rate, and if you vary your rate of breathing, or feel the need for a good long breath in, it either under or over delivers pressure, making you reflexively breathe deeper or shallower, leading to a vicious cycle of “fighting” against the machine. My heart rate goes up because my body feels like it’s either being suffocated or inflated like a balloon. Is this normal? Because I hate it! I set IPR to 3, and last night, focused on trying to maintain a constant respiratory rate, and it was better, but having to concentrate so hard is a bit anxiety provoking and makes it incredibly difficult to fall asleep. Have you found a solution? I don’t think it’s my mask, in my case. Also, all of the fighting against the machine leads to what I feel are false positive apneic events, as I’m getting 13+ per hour on the machine, when my baseline sleep study showed 11. Super frustrated with this thing!

    • @PlanetEntropy
      @PlanetEntropy 2 года назад +1

      Also interested that you previously used a dreamstation and didn’t experience this. Is that machine an APAP, too? Wondering if maybe it’s the APAP that we’re fighting? Did the dreamstation vary the pressure the same way the ibreeze does?

    • @PlanetEntropy
      @PlanetEntropy 2 года назад +1

      @@rookie779 Something I learned here on RUclips, is that the ibreeze ships with a 19mm tube, but the default setting is 15mm. Changing the setting to 19mm helps A LOT. However, it doesn’t completely fix the problem, and I hated the machine so much, that I complained to the DME vendor that issued it, and they agreed to swap it out for an AirSense 11. The difference is night and day. The AirSense 11 is a billion times better, with none of those janky pressure fluctuations. My apneic events went down from 15-20 per hour on the ibreeze, to less than 1 on the AirSense. My verdict is the ibreeze is vastly inferior. If you can get your DME to upgrade you to an AirSense, do it!

    Is there any sort of "elbow" type adapter for the air output in the back? That's the only thing that turns me off about this machine that I can see. Logically, you would have the machine's screen facing somewhat toward you so you can see it while lying in bed. That would mean the air output is on the opposite side of the machine, and with no elbow it shoots straight out the back and would have to make a long turn back toward the bed. With a 6ft hose that wouldn't leave you much slack to turn over or move.

      I am having the same issue. I did not feel right on this machine. It would never adjust the pressure to higher than 5 cmh2o, that is with a starting of 4 cmh20 and a max of 20 cmh2o.
      I had an overnight oxcimeter done and in 7hrs of sleep had 105min with a pulse ox level under 88%!!! The machine said I had an AHI of under 1 for that night?????? hmmmm....
      I can feel this machine pulsing on the inhale and exhale and it wakes me up. My next option is get the mim pressures bumped to 9 cmh20, not feeling confident that will work. BTW R-Care is turned off, as well as iPR.
      My ramp time will NOT go below 5min, cannot get it to zero....
      I think there are some serious software issues with these machines. My wifi connection for this machine worked for about 2 weeks, then lost connection and cannot see wifi APs ANYWHERE.

    One thing I don't like is that whenever I inhale, it blasts more pressure at me, then takes it away when I exhale. Even with that IPR turned off. The technician who set it up with me at my clinic said it only does that during ramp, but that is NOT true in the least. I feel lied to there. It is incredibly difficult to sleep with constantly varying pressure hitting me all night, and it is even causing some chest discomfort and headaches. I do not know if you can turn that on with water in the chamber. My other point again deals with the humidity chamber is the type of patient. Many of mine are the elderly and have severe arthritis. Constantly wake up fighting the machine, which is either over or under delivering pressure. Did you ever get used to it? I’ve tried using it during the daytime, too, and it’s the same - feel like I’m constantly fighting it for too little or too much air. Has to do with the machine’s prediction of when I’m breathing in or out, and if I vary from that, it freaks out (and then I freak out).

      @@PlanetEntropy I would check your settings I ended up finding out that the medical place had mine set on a mask that was not full face which is what I have. But did also change my mask it’s still a full face but instead of it going clear up by my eyes it sits under my nose. There is still times I feel like it’s hard to breath but I’m atleast sleeping better and have made it about 6 hours

      @@leanns295 Thanks! Glad you found a solution that works for you. I think I have the same mask, or at least same style as yours, as it sits under my nose and also covers my mouth. I think it’s called the airfit F30. My settings say full face, so I think that’s correct. After doing some more research, I think the problem may be the IPR. I initially thought increasing it to 3 would help, as that reduces the pressure during exhalation, but I think the ‘I’, which is supposed to mean “intelligent” is what’s causing my problem. It tries to predict when I should be exhaling, to lower the pressure, but if I get out of sync with that, then it’s either giving me too much or too little air, and then when it senses I’m inhaling instead of exhaling, it overcompensates by adding more pressure. I’m going to try dialing that back to a 1, or turn it off altogether.

I have a link to one of our blogs below that should help with that. 2) Using the CPAP as much as you can during the day. Best to do it while watching TV or reading. Something to distract you from the CPAP. These two things can make a world of difference over the next couple weeks.

    My provider set up the device as APAP with max pressure of 20 and min at 7. My doctor had prescribed 11 cmH2O. However, the device over several minutes on the first night of use kept increasing the pressure until it reached the max of 20 and stayed there, regardless of what was going on. I found this pressure to be way too much--I could barely manage to exhale and could not fall asleep after 2+ hours. The next day I got into the provider mode and reduced the max to just over the prescription value (I set at 12), and then the next night the device seemed to work well and was comfortable. Why does the device think it has to go up to the max pressure and stay there? Is this max/min really a useful feature? For what is it useful?

    I have been using this for a few days. Waited 7 months to get the machine. It's so loud when inhaling and exhaling it even bothers him. I have the nasal cushion mask that has a great fit and not leaking. Like the other person said sounds like Darth Vader breathing. Hard to go to sleep listening to that. When I take it off it's like ahhhh quietness. The hose is bulky, big around and stiff. Although it's on top of your head the weight of it pulls your mask up tight so you have to put slack under pillow. The rubber ends are to tight! I cannot even get it off the back of the unit it is so tight and to call it a quick release on top of your head is not true. You have to pull and fight with it to get it off and on so much I'm afraid I will rip my headgear. I just pull the whole headgear off to get up. I do not want to cut the rubber and buy a new hose each time. My husband's machine another brand, is whisper quiet, even when inhaling and exhaling. His quick releases are a click and they unclip, his hose is not stiff very loose that works with him moving, my hose very cheap compared to his.

    I obtained mine in the middle of July and it works well enough. A lot better than the old clunky, noisy one from around 2015/16. I love its size and am amazed at how silent it is. Most of the noise is when I'm breathing; the air coming into the full face mask and my inhaling. I found this video very helpful but do have one question. I have tried to find videos with not luck regarding if you are to remove and clean the long tubing that connects the machine to the separate mask/tubing (I have a nasal mask). I just got a machine a week ago, and I can remove the mask from the long tubing, but I can't get the tubing off the back of the ibreeze machine. It is on the removable cap TIGHT, and I have tried to squeeze, twist and wiggle. I don't want to put too much force for fear of tearing the tube. Any suggestions?

    • @CPAPmyway

      The Tubing does need to be cleaner, and the only way to do it is to remove it from the CPAP unfortunately. Try wiggling it back and forth. If that doesn't get it off, then you may have to slice the rubber cuff and peal it off. Then replace it with a new hose.

    We've purchased the ibreeze but cannot setup wifi on the machine. It says in the instruction booklet to do via mobile but when connecting many devices show up, what am i looking for exactly?
    Additionally machine has been plugged in for over 24hrs but still shows low battery information may not save, how do i fix this?

      Below is a link to our wifi setup for the ibreeze. The battery question confuses me though. The iBreeze does not have an internal battery that I know of.

    I'm new on the mask that sits under my nose. And I put humidity on 6 because my nose burned. Then my mouth got so dry I couldn't sleep it was bad.

    When you put water in the humidifier the the pre-heater is activated on the comfort setting, but how do you set that to be be on?

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  2 года назад

      I believe that you have to manually turn it on each time you want to use it.

    I just got mine and i can't sleep with it at all. If i have my mask on it's a loud noise in my head which i've never heard with another cpap before. The techincal assistence checked on it and told me it works fine. So is this noise normal?

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  2 года назад

      I have not heard that before. Are you using the same mask on the iBreeze as your previous CPAP?

      I noticed that too because I use earplugs. Its way louder in my head then the dreamstation i used.

    So their site says it is smart and auto adjusts settings. Does it mean it is equivalent to an APAP?

    Can you use this machine without engaging the humidifier?

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  2 года назад +1

      Yes you can run the iBreeze without humidification. You can turn the humidifier off and empty the water chamber. In fact if you leave the water chamber dry it will disable the humidifier on its own.

      It probably does not have the wifi modem built in to it in that case.

    Can I disable "stop" the "ramp up" from turning on?There's way too much pressure when it turns on
    Both me and my wife got the machines two days ago. Thankyou

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  2 года назад +1

      Unfortunately the only option that you have is to use the Ramp Feature when you first start it up, and then again if you feel like it is ramping up too fast. Simply press the triangle button on top to reduce the pressure for a period of time.

    • @cooloutac
      @cooloutac 2 года назад +1

      in the comfort settings just turn ramp to 0.

    When going to bathroom, do you disconnect mask only and leave it running or shut off and restart, for info on SD Card purposes on this unit?

    • @darkentrees
      @darkentrees 3 года назад

      I just disconnect the hose from the top of the mask - which is nice if you have a quick release - but mine has the rubber tube gripping the mask nozzle, so I learned quickly not to push that tube on so far that it becomes hard to get off. I turn the therapy button off when I get up, as I figure it will need to ramp me back up to get back to sleep afterwards anyway. Not sure about the SD Card impact - I imagine each therapy session is individually timestamped anyway, so a single night may well consist of multiple therapy sessions pieced together?

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  3 года назад +1

      You should shut the CPAP off when you are not using it. If the Auto Off feature is enabled, then it may even turn itself off when you disconnect.

    I received this unit a few days ago. I'm a first time CPAP user and I'm not sure what to expect. I have not been able to fall asleep when using the device because all I can do is focus on my breathing and the breathing noises. It sounds like Darth Vader. With whirring or whistling noises... The unit sounds noisy. They provided me a Philips Respironics WISP Nasal Mask which I haven't been to thrilled with. Will a different Mask resolve these noise problems?

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  2 года назад +2

      I different mask would be my first recommendation for sure. Usually the CPAPs are very quiet, and the noise is coming from a poor mask fit. So that would be my first recommendation.

    I don't have the option of turning the ramp off. It just goes to 5 min even though I see the 0 unit. Why is that?

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  3 года назад +1

      It is probably set that way in the clinical menu. Your provider will have to make that change for you unless you can access the clinical menu on that iBreeze CPAP.

    I don't understand the IPR setting. If I want zero air blowing at me when I exhale, do I want 0 IPR or 3?

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  2 года назад +1

      You wont be able to achieve zero air on exhalation, but if you want the very least amount, then you would change the IPR to 3. 3 is the max exhalation relief.
