Why is this senior taking care of her grand babies. This is not her job. If she didn't have this burden then she would never have asked for help. My mother is also roped into caring, feeding and clothing her 55 year old son and his child. She has paid her son's bills for 15 years.

Lots of people unfortunately are in that situation. I’m a widow and thankfully I was thinking ahead and made sure we had enough insurance to pay off the house and all our debt with money left over. I wanted to make sure whichever one of us survived wouldn’t have a house payment. I know people who have lost their house after their spouse died. My advice to everyone is get enough insurance to pay off your house.

Did she sign a quit claim or was this a case deed fraud? Criminals are forging quit claim deeds and stealing people's homes.
Have you ever tried to read standard mortgage loan docs? They are a nightmare. She may have signed something but a good judge would see through this thief's scam and stop it.

Why is this senior taking care of her grand babies. This is not her job. If she didn't have this burden then she would never have asked for help. My mother is also roped into caring, feeding and clothing her 55 year old son and his child. She has paid her son's bills for 15 years.

It's disgusting how relentlessly the elderly are targeted by scammers and companies in this country. Ever since my landlord hit that age....his phone blows up constantly with people trying to sucker him out of money for things he has no need or use for.
No life insurance policy to pay off house? No savings to pay house for a few months until you get a job? Never give anybody your deed to your house.
A lot of people especially black people fail to plan ahead. A decent term life policy would have definitely taken care of her when he passed suddenly. 🙏🏿🕊️

Lots of people unfortunately are in that situation. I’m a widow and thankfully I was thinking ahead and made sure we had enough insurance to pay off the house and all our debt with money left over. I wanted to make sure whichever one of us survived wouldn’t have a house payment. I know people who have lost their house after their spouse died. My advice to everyone is get enough insurance to pay off your house.

When I read stories like this , I mind always wonders - where are all the people who claim to be looking out for people of color ? Where’s Jessie Jackson , Al Sharpton , Ben Crump , BLM , and all the other people who run in front of the cameras. Years ago I had a buddy who was born and raised in a poor neighborhood in Alabama and he told me how his family was disgusted by the media people like them who are only on the lookout for themselves. If the cameras were there suddenly - they would be marching and protesting and giving press conferences. But since there’s no media coverage there’s nothing that can be gained by them, they follow the $$$ . Can someone refer her to a lawyer who does pro bono work-

As Black people, we have to begin to have a lawyer/attorney to review/look over any documents involving our houses (for refinancing, cash-out, and when selling) BEFORE we finalize and sign them. We just don't have enough knowledge in this regard ... and there are too many people that are trying to scheme, deceive and manipulate us out of the rightful ownership of our homes. Even if we can't afford it...this is something that we have to start coming up with the money to pay for...this is for our protection.

I know several white people that have been taken advantage of in similar ways , or have lost a lot of money trying to save a little money . Everyone needs to be careful .
My mother is white and signed her home over to the government when she needed food stamps in her 80’s! She had to get out and move to an assisted living not long after. It’s not just a black thing. It’s people being taken advantage of by people that don’t care how they get their money! They are greedy as the devil himself! 😡

Is the judge reversing this? How much proof does she need? How is the criminal rewarded? Judge is blind and deaf, lacking due diligence?
Where is the husband's social security or pension? Where are her children? She must get a lawyer involved.
