what triggers the production of ACTH in relation with Zona Reticularis ?
My understanding is stress, e.g., low glucose, produces increased ACTH which is moderated, through a negative cortisol feedback loop. The cortisol being produced by Zona Fasiculata. Zona Glomerulosa is also impacted by the Zona Fasiculata controlled ACTH. However, it is not the dominant factor controlling mineral corticoid secretion.
isn't DHAE dehydroepiandrosterone instead of dehydroxyepiandrosterone. I heard him say oxy in there.
