I think they sound remarkably alike. Not identical, but there’s something there….My mother took my cousin and me to David’s first “try out” concert in San Deigo when I was 13. We loved him on Partridge family, so we weren’t put off by the lack of choreography. We were impressed as he paced around the stage in his Elvis-like jumpsuit, singing his heart out to a bunch of screaming teen girls. Watching his life decline was difficult. I feel for his brothers and remaining family. ❤

In my day, they were heart throbs. They were both amazing. Everyone wanted David's hair. The Hardy Boys was the show that made Shaun famous. Very good years.

David Cassidy was my childhood crush.. records, posters, teen magazines.. cutting pictures putting them in photo albums.. when I would hear the opening song when Partridge Family was coming on.. this little girl with her anxieties and worries would "Get Happy" and absorb herself in another world... Some years ago I went to see David, on his birthday!, at the State Theater in central valley California.. was in the front row and got a cheek kiss from him while he was singing I Think I Love You❤... Thank You Shaun and Thank You David for bringing smiles to my heart and face!!!❤❤❤❤

The song that David and Shirley used to sing on the Partridge Family brought back memories of my sister watching the show every single week.
When Shaun started singing, there was one lyric (we were traveling in circles…) that made my heart skip a beat. He sounded so much like his older brother, David. It was as if the 2 brothers were singing it together…. 🩵
I was a huge David Cassidy fan, back in the 1970s. Loved to watch The Partridge Family too! Loved Shaun Cassidy in The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries too! Man, this brings back memories.

As soon as I first heard "I'll Meet You Halfway", I fervently wished that I would be able to meet David anyway! Fortune fell in my favour and I met David many times so he called me "friend". That song is SO special to me as I remember our friendship. It is lovely to hear Shaun sing it.
I saw "Blood Brothers" several times and cried every time. It was a foreshadowing of how I cried when David was so ill, troubled, and at his death. 😢 I miss David dreadfully but remember him with joy and love. ❤

Thanking you Shaun for your reminiscing about David. I lost a younger brother few years ago. I find myself missing him at odd times. When I'm not even thinking about him at all. Thank you for the songs as well.
I know what you mean. My wife passed away a year ago this past June and the song "Tell Me It's Not True" brings back memories of her. I can't begin to tell you how many times I have woken up at night in tears saying, "Tell Me It's Not True." My wife's passing was something that didn't have to happen. She had health issues that she never told me about. Her mother convinced her that doctor's were no good and no matter how hard I tried, I could never get through to her.
Both a huge part of growing up for me. Every boy wanted to be either and every girl wanted to be with them. At least the people I was around did.

What a great tribute from one brother to another. The thing that really resonated with me was when he said that the only people you go through this entire journey with is your siblings. How true. I have one sister who is a few years older than me. Several years ago she had a battle with cancer. Even though at some level I knew that there was a possibility that it may not end well, the biggest part of me could not even comprehend such an outcome because she has been the one, and I do mean the ONLY one constant through my whole life and being without her is just inconceivable. Our parents are both gone, grandparents, aunts, uncles...all gone, but not her. Luckily she beat the beast and we still have each other. Of course I do know that some day that will change one way or the other, but for now I totally get what Shaun was saying. RIP David.

I have this on album and cd and is on phone. I saw shaun in concert when I was 11 years old in Cleveland convention center! I still watch partrige family with friend on tv and we laugh. Shaun sounds a bit like david at times.

Hey Shaun. We were all over the Partridge Family when it came out. My older sister had a full sized poster of David in our record room. There he was for a few years joined by Alice Cooper and Jethro Tull among others. David and Danny had a true comedy team of a very high order. In the scheme of things, they were very very good as a team. Very funny and superb timing and delivery. We are from Saratoga NY where your brother had a house near the track. Never bumped into him , unfortunately. We were livid when a small town power hungry judge made your brother come all the way back to upstate NY from his other home to face dwi charges. Could have done that through channels but no. Really pissed us off. That wonderful guy being forced to make a trip so this pos judge could have his circus. So there ya go. Yeah. David Cassidy remained/ remains a beloved person to our family.

Had such a crush on Shawn! Had his Tiger Beat posters on my bedroom walls. Never missed an episode of Hardy Boys and played his vinyl albums on my little record player non stop. Also loved Partridge Family and had a huge crush on David. Partridge Family Christmas album is in my top 5 all time favorites!! I also love the song I THINK I LOVE YOU by Partridge Family. David's vocals just make me wanna sing at the top of my 🫁 when I listen to this song. RIP David. Shawn your an awesome brother.

I had such a crush on Shaun! He has an amazing voice too! His relationship with David reminds me of my sister and I when we were little, except we were closer in age and had the same parents. But listening to a radio and singing together and fighting with each other is the same thing we did! RIP David 🙏

I remember growing up and being so in love with David. I wasn't even born yet when the Partridge Family aired but I was blessed to watch the re-runs.
I was then again blessed to see David perform at EPCOT. When he sang "I think I love you" I reached out to him and he grabbed my hand and gave it a little squeeze and smiled the sweetest, kindest smile. I will never forget it.

Beautiful tribute; I love hearing the backstories! The fond and sad memories they have shared. I often wonder where I would be if I went down a different path of life. I then realize and accept the journeys I have traveled as different challenges. Am I famous; only to those who know me, chosen to love me for who I have come to be because of those different challenges and success stories. Only Shaun and his family knows and has experienced David's challenges and succeses. These celebration of tributes are very challenging to most people. Both David and Shaun bring back great preteen and teen memories. I do remember what a transistor radio is! My sister and I used to do the same thing. Once we all got them for Christmas from my grandmother. I had more of a crush on Shaun, but I appreciated them both equally!
