Troll Hunter, leaving DC, Be My Cat, M.O.M. and Butterfly Kisses are often overlooked. There are sooo many more good ones out there and sub-genres too if you really dig into it.
Nice unique touches with Butterfly M.O.M Cat and Leaving DC. even though I haven't seen them aside from Cat it gives me motivation to seek them out.
I loved your list! I also think Sanitorium should be on it and The Pyramid..and Jeruzalem ! Awesome.. a bit way out there but man these 3 pack a punch and lots of scares..
Rorschach is a little known FF movie about a haunted house investigation. Has a very realistic feel to it. Also the mockumentary Savageland is excellent.
You guys definitely got this one right as the first two are the ones I have on my list. The ending of REC traumatized me, Quarantine was a decent try at a remake. And VHS 2 is my fav of the series.
Mockumentary isn't "Found Footage."
Thank you.
Agreed!
while i agree is not the case for WWDITS, a movie can be both, like The Bay or the blair witch
Noroi the curse, quite possibly the best found footage film ever
Savagelands. The BEST film made documentary style/found footage type movie I've ever seen Really creepy as the story unfolds. Real gem here.
“What We Do In The Shadows” is my favorite.
Highly recommend As Above So Below, really enjoyed it, thought it was cleverly shot. VHS 2 is worth the watch at least once. I never go by Rotten Tomatoes scores
Grave Encounters is also a guilty pleasure. Watched it when it first came online ages ago and I’m telling ya, it made battle hardened Marine Corp vets run out of the room 🤣👌
Glad VHS2 made it to the top of the list... although it is the best installment of the entire trilogy; I still think VHS1 is definitely worth a watch!!!!
The Dyatlov Pass Incident, The Bay, The Tunnel and Trolljegeren (Trollhunter) deserve a spot on this list ;-)
It's a good day when I'm 20 minutes early to a WhatCulture video
I love the first mention already! Great movie!
Cloverfield is my fav of them all but every one of the films are worth watching! All well done! “The Houses that October Built” is also a really good movie done in found footage style! 10/10
Spot on. These are all great films.
The tunnel from 2011 should be on the list, it is one of the best found footage movies I know of
Just watched that one recently it was pretty damn good. Definitely keeps you on edge the whole movie.
"As Below So Above" is way too underrated. This movie is really good. And has some great twits and turns. The ending is just mindblowing.
Agreed, As Above So Below is CRIMINALLY underrated.
Hey! Just miss "Grave Encounters" in this ranking. Great movie and pretty scary!
Its one of my favourite with As Above,So below.
Good list!!!
Thank you!
Grave encounters is a good one! 👍
Is it just me or is rec really good all of them
As Above So Below was a really good movie, I liked it a lot. Of course, it still had the typical flaws of a horror movie (stupid/reckless characters) but it was very interesting as a concept and I enjoyed it.
Lake Mungo is a hidden gem and VHS 2 is just brilliant! Creepy and scary! Shame VHS Viral didn't follow on the greatest of 1 and 2.
The first grave encounters was excellent too
I am so glade as below so below & Rec made it onto the list. They're both great movies that not many know about
I just really can't bring myself to watch Creep. He's so AWKWARD.
Thats the whole point. He makes you feel really uncomfortable. Creep 2 is more like it.
I suggest you watch both. Its something fresh.
Creep is dope af if you give it a chance
@@Death_by_Kim_Yoohyeon It keeps ending up on my list so it's only a matter of time.
Ha
You definitely left out The Taking of Deborah Logan. One of the best found footage films I've seen in a long time. Also Grave Encounters 2!
Would love to see more love for The Bay
me too!!!
One of my favorite sub genres when done right. I’m actually going to be watching one here soon I haven’t seen called Lake Mungo.
It's great, really original.
@@woooooooo9061 Awesome. The trailer sold me so I’m excited to check it out.
@@megamoviez I recently watched "The Borderlands" after hearing good reviews, I was not disappointed👍
What We Do in the Shadows is one of my favorite movies and the series is becoming even better. However, why is it being considered a found footage movie and not a mockumentary? There's a documentary crew following them around and interviewing them.
Thanks
I love vhs 2, I will admit my favorite segment is the alien abduction one, to this day it still terrifies me due to the way the gray aliens are directed
Why isn't The Bay from 2012 here? It was fantastic. So happy I was told to watch it because most found footage movies are miss.
Noroi: The Curse hits my horror nerves the way I want it, and Trollhunter is really god aswell!
Loved all of the vhs movies
I've seen 9 of them and agree that they are all very good and worthy of watching more than once
Ookkk love the list 👀
A low budget one I watched quite by accident and was bloody good is Willow Creek. The middle bit trapped in the tent is so scary and well acted 🙌🏼
One movie (If I remember correctly) that was found footage and pretty good was Noroi The Curse
A new one that came out in 2021 is called The Deep House. It's actually pretty good I was very impressed. I'm addicted to these types of movies.
[Rec] was a really good movie, super entertaining. I recommend watching it on Crackle as it's the original Spanish version with English subtitles, everywhere else seems to be dubbed
I'm here for how much shade was thrown at VHS 3 in that edit!
i agree with these for sure. Another couple of lesser known gems are Savage Land, and Butterfly Kisses. Also Dark Mountain. These are all very good.
Awesome
vhs2 is underrated. Too good.
As Above, So Below has a special place in my heart as the movie that kick started my love for horror movies
As Above, So Below... Creepy & GOOD!!!
The camera on the fan in PA3 still gives me chills.
One movie that deserves love is The Bay. The fact it could happen makes it such a scary experience.
As Above So Below is one of my favorites❤️
Children of Sorrow, Home Movie, Grave Encounters 2, Hell House LLC 2, Noroi, Session 9, The Poughkeepsie Tapes, Malevolent, Ghostwatch and The Devil's Doorway are all also great.
Hell House LLC needs a spot on here. It is so good 👍🏼
All 3 flick's!
