This new Shepherd is clearly a desk general, while the OG Shepherd was a scarred veteran and obviously has special operations experience, as suggested by the way he carries himself. Also, the OG Shepherd's descent into madness is much more reasonable (in a mind of a person suffering from PTSD) and relatable.
Exactly
Even if Old Shep was a little unrealistic
He still presented himself as a tact and determined self righteous person that understood his SOF-SOCOM centered command and took care of himself and his people (yes I remember the shadow company friendly fire)
He had humility but specifically in his own tunnel vision WW3 plan kinda way too
Whoever that old boomer is is just another pencil pushing 4 star
No character
@@ComfortsSpecter And also, the old Shep is a tragic character-a case of a good person living long enough to become the villain. This new guy-I don't know what to make of him. 😅
@user-jc8ez9iw2j I Think His Idea Is a Controlled WW3
With The US Centricy’s Victory America Is Safe, He Get’s Redemption and Russia Is Knocked out of Competition
1 of The Old Cold War Big 3
Basically a Human Victory to Him
War to End Most War
Not an excuse. Not relatable.
The reason why OG Shepherd's betrayal was more impactful was because how unexpected it was. At that time no one was expecting him to betray us, there was no setup, it just happened, leaving players in shock.
Even he wasn’t an obvious prick. Like the reboot shepherd tends to be. Maybe the reboot shepherd used to be Overlord and it makes sense that he’s more boss in the comms than he would be at least a soldier in the field like the OG shepherd would be. OG Shepherd did lift Private Joseph Allen up to fight again. He was somewhat a volunteer “target” in training. And when he betrayed, having shadow company being cannon fodder and when he has to fight alone against price and soap, he isn’t cowardly to run again and he has to combat them as necessary as he can.
@@CevicheGato the og shepherd was overlord too
@@CevicheGato tbf new shepherd is more realistic a general isn’t on the front lines
Also the new betrayal sucked there wasn’t a good explanation for it
@@CevicheGatothe new version of general might be an addition to the old one after he was rebuilt like a BO3/4 machine.
Shepherd : sad his men's died
Also shepherd : kills his own men
did you guys see how shepard's name on the subtitles changed from yellow to red when he called graves a dog 11:34 , indicates he's an enemy now
I've seen this a bajjilion times now, still thanks ig...
It was blue then yellow and at this point red
“If captain Price wasn’t in the mix”
*shows shepherd beating the ever living shit out of him*
Lol I just realized what he said 🤣
Know what pissed me off the most about the original betrayal of Shepherd, that mission right beforehand was a pain in the arse
The mission where he betrays you us the biggest pain in the ass
For the hundredth time General Lyons is the one Norris is referring to when she assigned Farah's forces as terrorists not Shepherd.
Also what could’ve much sadder in my head canon is that OG general shepherd had a son or nephew who was killed by the nuke in cod 4 and maybe this added the reasons to his patriotic path of insanity. Maybe sergeant Jackson was related to shepherd and his death was messed up to his mental state. This idea was borrowed from Jonathan irons of atlas corp from cod advanced warfare. But atleast what differs here is that Shepherd was caring of his loved ones and his country. Irons is caring of his own ego that his own son calls out his old man to the protagonist. However for reboot shepherd. His reasoning of betrayal is more about his worrying of losing his lobbying deal with shadow company and his association with graves that he would worry of losing his rank of general as a result of his screwup of accompanying shadow company’s missile transportation towards anti Russian militia groups.
It's literally explained in og mw2 that he lost his command which was pretty much his family
Irons wasn’t really doing it for his ego he was just tired of US shit and how they were bullying people how all countries were bullying each other
Og shepherd is good enough he did it for his marines, his countries reputation and also his own reputation
Nah
Shepherd being the general who sent the Marines in? That’s enough, he didn’t need any more skin in the game. To witness such loss and get no real closure is enough to make him break bad.
MWII Shepherd got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. It made no sense for him to keep TF141 so close to the hunt for Hassan, knowing it would’ve lead back to him. ALSO Shepherd hands the baton to Graves, where as OG Shepherd personally killed Roach so it hit harder and showed just how committed he was on following through.
Shadow company looked so badass with the black bdu and fde gear
MW2 gave us 2 greatest villians of all time, Makarov and Sheperd
The fool and the devil. General shepherd was a good man turned insane. And he didn’t realize who pushed the trigger of the nuke and this was the making of the devil himself. Makarov. He was messed up individual and his prior military career consisted of war crimes in Chechnya. Maybe using chemical gas like general Barkov did in the reboot. And he decided to find a new purpose of using his warmongering in joining the ultranationalists and met his leader Zakhaev. And he committed terrorist acts in which innocents are killed. And also some international criminal activities as well. Human, drug, and arms trafficking to finance the ultranationalists. And he became a cold hearted man. And he planned his airport massacre years ahead. Truly more evil than shepherd.
Zakhaev aswell
rip roach and Ghost in old call of duty modern warfare 2 we will miss you
Well the og betrayal was..disturbing.
It was good writing, especially hearing price on the radio 😢 Then playing As Soap and him running for their lives
@@tdawg8734 Yea it was good writing, some people claimed they cried to that end.
Uhh am pretty sure random call of duty mobile player about come in the chat and start a war that they had the most dirtiest betrayal because it was ghost who said “do u have the dsm” rest u know it
@@tinyartist2942 I still remember it vividly.
@@nathandei1674 I remember it to this day.
Fun Fact: the actor for Graves is the same actor who does Rafe Adler in Uncharted 4.
There should be a Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 that exposes all of Sheperd’s Crimes
*_Good. That's one less loose (Lore) end._* 😎
fun fact: Glenn Morshower who plays general shepherd in mw2 2022 also play overlord from mw2 2009 and mw2 remastered (2009).
The og cod mw2 had an great Shepard betrayal with main characters dying and he had bad guy intentions while in 2022s cod mw2 no main characters die, why did Shepard even betray tf 141 even though there's still one more missile left and they also didn't even know Shepard was the reason the missiles are in terrorist hands and he still had good guy intentions for the missiles which all Americans are good guys besides the mercs in cod
I would prefer Laswell crossing.
Shepherd just doesn’t want to get caught and exposed that he was the one who lost the missiles
@@donieluong3695 Part of his character, the first Shepard was a coward who had a grandiose vision of himself who wished to be seen as a war hero in the history books. The second Shepard is a coward who always seems to blame others for his mistakes Laswell for not knowing about the missiles and Graves for losing them in the first place.
@@donieluong3695 then why did he take over a Mexican base literally covering up a crime with a crime also wouldn’t it make more sense to eliminate shadow company kinda like the original mw2
@@oscarosullivan4513 he’s anything but a coward
When price: said after i kille graves im coming for you i got goosebumps
Definitely prefer original Shepard, his character had depth that made him a good villain with a tragic story, meanwhile new Shepard seems like a butter bar who became a pencil pushing desk General who just wants to cover his own skin
How can a 4-star general, America's tallest, run away and just disappear because he's afraid of a foreigner with the rank of captain?
What happens if reboot shepherd never betrayed 141 but instead he betrayed shadow company ink should totally make a vid on it
I think that would be good but I would prefer Laswell crossing.
@@oscarosullivan4513 maybe she does what happens if her and Kamarov work for Makarov
Laswell betrayal or maybe rudolfo of Los vaqueros betraying task force 141 and also realize that he can snap 🫰 and have the rest of shadow company soldiers including Graves turn into sleeper soldiers and they turn on the task force and vaqueros because he wants to use the missiles and cause a false flag attack using Hassan as his chief terrorist missile smuggler and AQ and maybe use them to distract the us army. Using Chicago as a distraction tactic while using El Paso as a real false flag. And uses one of the American missiles to attack Mexico and cause an international incident. Maybe being the Mexican version of Killmonger from Black Panther. Causing some race division of Mexicans and non Mexicans in the USA. Maybe ending the drug war in Mexico
@@CevicheGato sleeper soldiers is kinda dumb especially if it’s shadow company also Rodolfo is loyal hell he might becoming acting commander of los vaqueros
@@CevicheGato maybe Hassan was never the bad guy he was just an innocent man they just wanted to find another Muslim to use as a scapegoat
You should have put subtittles in Graves scene. It only adds to the vibe
So I saw this on tiktok theory were graves could be Adler son. There hair style look similar to me.
Agreed
I’m pretty sure the general that re-designated the ULF was General Lyons, not Shepherd
when are you making a video on Shadow Company ? also nice vid.
I love that overlord got a promotion to sheaperd
Other way around
Shepherd should've known not to fuck with unit 141
They should know not to fuck with him
2:44 they wanted to say”war war never changes” so bad from fallout hahaha
The OG MW Trilogy still remain the BEST, the only way Activision can make this false is go WAY BEYOND in MW III with the 2nd Best Cod Villain, Makarov.
I wish Soap was much more roughed up in appearance, in the new MWII he looks way to young and clean. As well after Price confronted Shepard over the missiles, how come Shepard did not use his position to designate T141 and even Lazlo as hostiles combatants to national security? There was nothing showing his position or power was jeopardize. They find out his mistake and he hopes they wont cause him problems even after Price threatens him?
Shepherd had no excuse for designating them as terrorists hell shadow company could be terrorists since they took over a Mexican base and is another reason why the betrayal sucked it was a dumb plan
They should’ve had soap as captain and ghost playable
@@Deathmare235 Yeah the plot was not really gripping in this MW2. I aswell wished they let us play Ghost more than the intros length.
@@Deathmare235Ghost is a huge marketing brand lmfao why would they make him the playable character?
@@lifeisshørt_420 exactly let us play as the marketing character
Yeah let’s see that video on Shadown Company and I think we the community need to try and get Infinity Ward to give us Graves as a multiplayer operator.
Yeah. I was really disappointed to see no Shadow Company operators in season 2. Graves would be awesome to play as.
i dont think Shepard would be foolish enough to put himself in an active warzone which Ashika island is.
You should do a full vid on the cod ghosts campaign and the cancelled sequel
His rank is actually lieutenant general
Shepherd 1v1d Price in Rust before it was cool
If shepherd would have told laswell about the missiles 141 and shadow company could’ve all worked together to AQ. Because laswell will understand what happened to the missiles and she will help the general. OG general shepherd could have just killed ghost and roach and told price and soap that he was to late to save them and later on once they were all together he should’ve killed them.
You,re protecting your own ass. Lmao i love it how Price say it :P
The "new" General Shepherd is a spineless coward! He's a desk General, which hasn't been on the battlefield in at least three decades.
At least in the previous trilogy he's a psychopath who tries to start a war to reestablish his glory. In the current trilogy he's a spineless coward, which tries to do good crap illegally, and betrays everyone because he's afraid they are going to find out when it's blew up his face.
In the current universe he is staging a coup because he lost a couple of missiles, which doesn't make any sense whatsoever!
Call of duty mobile players: the dirtiest betrayal in all of cods where we don’t get the credit for in fact this time it was the ghost who said “do u have the dsm” rest of u can imagine what happen to our guy who just wanted a normal life after he get his daughter back RIP templar pretty sure no one knows who he is
He was still a terrorist
@@Deathmare235 what about giving the green light to kill a innocent teenager?!
@@jasnoorsingh9194 who ghost?
Well rebirth in Resurgeons have proxy chat as well as war zone on the 15th?
The OG Shepherd is a great villain with great motivation. But, rebooted Shepherd is a cliche villain with cliche background
Shadow Company full story PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like the that I hope he do full story of Shadow Company in reboot call of duty modern warfare 2 will see
7:26
Finally
I can see laswell turning bad in the next one or 4th MW if there is one. Just like how she knew how Shepherd is of the grid at end of MW2 got me thinking
Maybe he’ll get his mustache back
Ngl it’ll make him look worse
@@Deathmare235 he will look better
@@Tobiroxxon no he won’t also what kind of moustache will he have

That explains why he didn't care where the Missiles came from he wanted to destroy the evidence and my theory is that he is at the Site hotel bravo (Afghanistan)
*Al mazrah
Please make a DMZ lore video.
Ghost my favourite💀
same here my favorite Ghost character in call of duty modern warfare 2 and reboot call of duty modern warfare 2
What the song called at the start that he used?
As a veteran, I like OG Shepherd much better. Nobody likes a general who sits in an office. Well, or any rank that sits in an office. It's why most of the Enlisted force despise *most* of the officer corps. With OG Shepherd, I sympathize deeply. If 30,000 of my guys died and nobody did anything about it, I'd have lost my fucking mind too. I could easily see myself being one of the people to follow him after the fact even, *especially* if I knew those people. A man who leads from the front with his men is typically a man respected. He who does not is despised as a coward.
All my homies hate general Shepherd
I don't like the betrayal of 2022 mw2 it's predictable and no main characters die they live just be an operator in the mp that'll have no impact and no new characters in the mp
@@iseeyou6422 funniest thing is
In Russian subtitles, Shepard's name doesn't change yellow color to red, it remains yellow
Probably Shepard wasn't gonna betray 141 here
Or
Idk
I would prefer Laswell crossing.
Running away suits him in this iteration as he is a coward with only care for himself.
Codm players abouta start war on that why they hate ghost because he was the one to say “do u have the dsm” in codm story line
So is it basically the same story told in different ways each game?
Hi are you streaming season 2 this week inkslasher
Make a story on the settlement defense front
Can u do full story of graves?
Ashika Island, a possible Zombies map according to the Black Ops Lore, based on TheGamingRevolution's or MrJalekJD's report.
It won’t be
Wait so you also called Phillip Graves the redacted leader for Shadow Co. Do you think it’s Graves or Shepherd as the leader?
We know that Graves is the CEO of Shadow Co.
But shepherd voice in the two versions are great but the og is better than the reboot sorry l know we have an original voice from the original series he is doesn't good as the original voice
Please do keegan from ghosts next
What if Shepard planned the attack so Hassan could get the missiles and they could get together and become powerful
That is interesting which links back to the highway of death what if Shepard has someone superior to him in this.
I would prefer Laswell crossing.
@@oscarosullivan4513 we never hear of anyone because he went awol

I just noticed a whole new plot hole from the original trilogy if American troops were nuked why did America not invoke article 5 because it is well know that it is set in 2011 so NATO would be a thing or why didn't they respond with nuclear retaliation whoever was America's president at the time did not know what he was doing
It was Obama maybe that’s why

They should have named this General different…
Why
Shepherd on Ashika Island? Its multiplayer content and its always more corny than grounded singleplayer
Yo this a w
Am I the only one who's upset about some plotholes in this game? I remember back in CoD 4, Gas died when Soap bearly was a private, how is it possible Gas is still alive in Modern Warfare 2 2022 with Soap being a Sargeant.
Its an entirely different universe. The original trilogy was where Gaz died. They completely restarted fresh with the new universe in MW2019.
That’s the plot hole not shepherd covering up war crimes with war crimes
@@carterskindle7086 ohhhhhb Okay. I didnt know that, SAD :(

Does General Sheppard really exist? 🤔
Yes
Lets do this

Hadir/Al Asad/Al Qatala
Makarov/Russian Ultranationalists
El Sin Nombre/Mexican army/Narcos

I’m so confused if he’s in the us army why tf he have control over da brits
Not to mention the Marines too.
Yeah yeah, Shepherd is a scumbag and all that, but at least unlike recent CoD's the entire campaign wasn't based on a lie and bullshit such as the wankstain known as BOCW campaign 🤣
Cw is better than both mw2 and mwll
why did you say that Joseph Allen was a CIA agent when he was clearly, i mean clearly, a private? Military and CIA are two complete different things, stop pushing this Alex is Joseph Allen narrative cuz it’s really starting to be redundant and irritating
Alex being Allen is dumb but in mw2 he was somehow in the CIA look at the no Russian briefing cutscene
