They tried to do that. But...well, black ops 2 was the game before it. And ghost was developed by IW who developed the iconic MW series. They had way too big of a task to accomplish with what they were going for. And ghost MP sucks don't forget that

I've been saying that they were going to integrate the ghosts into the new universe, but a lot doubt it only because "they're not in the same universe". If Activision connecting all the stories into one why would they not add ghost in one way like how MW story was basically added in post game/warzone.
I'm thinking that like in BO2, there will be branching storylines with only 1 true "canon" storyline existing. I assume that CoD: Ghosts takes place in that alternate universe setting where the events of that campaign takes place, but the base "story" for the Ghosts back in 2017 did happen.

I like how there sorta doing a soft reboot for the ghost concept. Like the ghost we all know and love was around way before cod ghost came out but the ghost game sorta expanded the idea of there not being only one single ghost which is awesome, just to bad the game was not that well received. Though I do hope we get like a new series for cod despite black ops or mw, like don't get me wrong there both awesome series but over time they eventually got to think of new ideas( especially for black ops since they basically covered almost every aspect of the cold war, unless they do like a origin story for woods where we play as him during his time in Korea which would probably make things interesting in my opinion. Also there's the whole future stuff but the last time cod did that everyone hated to some degree)

From what it sounds like, they're building up to a Ghosts reboot. We know is MW3, 141 becomes disavowed after killing Shepherd and then tackling Makarov. What I see happening, is that when the new MW series ends, they'll take the new "Ghosts" and put them into the next Ghosts reboot to link the series.
Always had the theory linking to Cod Ghosts. It still is tricky how timelines line up but im glad you made this video because for the longest time it's as if I am the only one with the theory. I stand by my theory from when I first saw the Ghost Team cutscene. This is the origin of the Ghosts. That mission is when the Ghost Team formed, and how they decided on that specific mask. I know the timeline doesn't exactly match up with the new MW games being set in present day, but if you only consider that the bulk of the Ghosts campaign is set 4 years from now, it would work. Also I just love the idea that Simon "Ghost" Riley is the man behind that force and that story

But it may be partly canon similar to OG MW1 having the chernobyl mission canon to the new timeline and Bo2 the stuff going on in the 80s is canon. The formation of the OG ghost team could be canon as well as characters like Rorke.
Imagine 141 and ghost squad working together to go after makarov and his army all the stealth missions could be played as Keegan or Logan while the others you play as gaz or ghost

You probably didn't know this while making this video buy today there was a bundle in the MW2 store called Chilled to the bone and in it is a Ghost skin with the Ghosts emblem and one of the guns has death animations with the emblem. FYI
Love the new background. Couple notes, the INK is the main, eye-catching part of it but it is covered by you. Maybe a different camera angle or your placement could fix this. Secondly, the edges of the backdrop are a little dark, maybe a light on either side could help. Apart from those, it's perfect.

The codm comics make is much more confusing. Ghost gets mace from prison to work with him in fighting against a mercenary named templar but mace and ghost had met like it was the first time

Perhaps COD 2023 will be titled something along the lines of Modern Warfare: "Ghosts" since Jason Schreier has alluded that COD 2023 will likely not be titled MW III if it is true that Activision executives have decided to just go back and forth between Modern Warfare and Black Ops games every two years. If Las Almas is going to be the rumored main Warzone map location this Fall then I could see them developing a "Ghost Team" side story in Latin America for 2023 and have Infinity Ward working on a full on MW III game for 2026 that involves taking down Makarov. It certainly brings new context to Sledgehammer dropping the Federation Roarke and other previous antagonist skins near the end of Vanguard's life cycle. Perhaps Sledgehammer executives already knew they would be making a 2023 Modern Warfare game with a re-imagined Federation/Rorke villain by then. Then they could have Black Ops 2024-25 story arc involving Perseus lead into Makarov's story arc for MW 2026-27.

Black ops doing doing future wasn't hated. It was just how they did Black ops 4. People got tired of advanced movement which led to the failure of IW.

If Las Almas is going to be the rumored main Warzone map location this Fall then I could see them developing a "Ghost Team" side story in Latin America for 2023 and have Infinity Ward working on a full on MW III game for 2026 that involves taking down Makarov. It certainly brings new context to Sledgehammer dropping the Federation Roarke and other previous antagonist skins near the end of Vanguard's life cycle. Perhaps Sledgehammer executives already knew they would be making a 2023 Modern Warfare game with a re-imagined Federation/Rorke villain by then. Then they could have Black Ops 2024-25 story arc involving Perseus lead into Makarov's story arc for MW 2026-27.
