How to replace exterior trim around an entry door

This front door didn't have any curb appeal. In fact, it had curb-a-what's-that? Four out of five anybody-who-walked-by agreed that this Handy Andy special was a hot mess. The proportions were all wrong and it served no purpose. Crappy form. No function. Gotta go, bro.
