    I have 38x13.5-17 on my 2018 JLUR with a 4" lift and I run them at 37psi on the street and 8psi off road (KMC Beadlocks). I like how light they are for their size (83lbs) and the sidewalls have been very cut and puncture resistant so far. I have about 10,000 miles on this set, and had about 20,000 miles on my previous set of 35" MSP MT. I get plenty of torrential rain here in central Florida and even at 37psi I've never had them loose traction in the rain, and they don't pull very much when you hit a puddle at speed. I'm happy.

    Looking great..my driveway is waiting for my new jeep gladiator..what's the difference between the tires you put on and the black label that Kevin spoke of

    • @northridgenation
      @northridgenation  4 года назад

      The black labels are "stickies" or extra soft rubber compound. They give you excellent traction off road in the rocks, BUT they will wear very fast on the street.
      Could be gone within 10,000 miles or less.

      The chalk test really is the best way to go, just keep the center clean, not the whole tread.

    Thx for the educational videos, I really like them... I have a 2019 Sahara unlimited with 2” mopar lift with 35” tires with stock axles. I hear a small banging when decelerating below 20 mph. Took it to the dealer and they said it is the tire size, but I see many Jeeps with 35, so not sure this is correct. Did you come across the same issue and Do you know what might cause this. Thx

    • @northridgenation
      @northridgenation  4 года назад

      That doesn't sound right. We've got three JLs and a JT here in the parking lot that all have 35s or bigger and none of them have that noise.

    I’ve just bought a set of 40 how do I identify if it’s a Dot or black label type ? I’m confused with the two , I’m looking a regular street use

    • @northridgenation
      @northridgenation  4 года назад

      The Black Labels "stickies" are pretty unique, so unless you ordered black labels specifically, you probably won't get a set.
      If they still have the label on them, the black labels have a black label.
      The street Patagonias has a multi-colored logo.

    You’re running the wheels I chose for my Gladiator, but I’m only running 37’s. I don’t need 40’s. I’m running ProRock 44 axles...RCV 1350 chromolly up front, and Yukon 1350 chromolly in the rear with 5.13 gears and Eaton E-lockers.

    can I fit 35s on a stock JL wrangler? will it rub? do I need to regear? do I need to cut anything off? what's a good size lift that you would recommend? which cheap, yet reliable brand of lift kit would you say?

    • @northridgenation
      @northridgenation  4 года назад

      Do you have a Sport or Rubicon model?
      The Rubicon will fit 35s stock. The Sport need a lift or a set of Rubicon fenders.

    Okay so I contacted Patagonia which would be tire Co. and they only had a sales line and they had no reference other than the recommended psi for my 2020 ram 1500 what would be the correct air pressure for these tires because I’ve heard they are a crowned tire and the correct air pressure for on the street is crucial by factory recommendation is 40 psi

    • @northridgenation
      @northridgenation  2 года назад +1

      It really depends on the vehicle's individual weight. Air them up and get them out on the road and run them, then check the dirt pattern. Is it across the tire? add more air pressure. Is it only on the center 2" or so, drop some air pressure.
      You can also use a piece of chalk, draw a thick strip across the tires and go out for a drive, the chalk will wear off on the contact pattern.

    • @mackredenbarger
      @mackredenbarger 2 года назад

      @@northridgenation So the chalk message Work she just want an even burn all the way across the tire or do you just want it to where in the center?

    So you didn't need the ring spacers? Seems I read anything 37+ should have their spacers with the rings. Main reason I haven't considered the Methods...I have a set of Patagonia 40s sitting in my garage waiting on wheel selection. 🤔

    • @northridgenation
      @northridgenation  4 года назад +1

      The Patagonias have a thin enough bead that the spacers were not needed.
      Some tires with a thick bead like Nittos definitely need the spacers.

    Patagonias might be everything you think they are but y'all are based out West. Try wheeling em on East Coast terrain & I guarantee you that your opinion would change drastically. FB Marketplace in the East Coast are flooded with "like new" Patagonias with less than 5k miles...on the street, they're decent...nice and quiet but once you get em on some East Coast slick rock, off they come.

      Patagonia tires are definitely NOT garbage. I've been running 37 12.5 17's on my power wagon, pulling a 16ft dump trailer that weighs 5000, loaded with an 8300lb excavator for 3 years now and never had a blow out yet. Can't say that about the BadYear dura craps and Pooper STT failure PRO's that both blew out and damaged my rambox bed fender panels. Everything is made somewhere else. Broaden your little mind, the world's becoming a rather small place, and it ain't all made here no more man.
