    I’ve been trying this out this week and noticed it wasn’t on the maybelline site too, so strange how Amazon has the full range already! I LOVE this, for the price I think it’s exceptional. Makes my skin look flawless, feel silky and look healthy. I put CT magic cream followed by NYX marshmallow primer underneath. I powder it and use setting spray and it’s not transferring. I’m tempted to try the L’Oréal one now after watching this. Thanks for the advice ❤

    Hi Gemma! I love the look of Maybelline most. I love the flawless look it gives and that alcohol gives you that long wear. I had super oily skin when I was younger and Revlon Color stay was my go to but it had lots of alcohol too. I guess everything is a trade off. Thanks for the great video as always!❤

    Discovered L'Oréal True Match serum in the summer. Absolute game changer for my make up. I love this product, as I struggle to find a foundation that suits my skin tone, plus I don't like the heavy feel of foundation on my skin. I've recommended it to my girlfriends & will be wearing it for the rest of my life!! 😂

    As a teen I worked in my father's studio. He'd make me wear a heavy mask before I could work with the denatured alcohol. The thing is De-natured alcohol is so strong it's more violent than airplane glue. They must be able to remove the smell. I can't imagine. I don't care how good the foundation is I won't be putting that on my face. Thanks, Gemma

    • @Jo2878
      @Jo2878 Год назад +3

      Thanks for the info on how strong denatured alcohol can be. When the Loreal serum foundation made my skin look dry/highlighted textured areas, I thought the alcohol was the problem. x

    • @stealthis
      @stealthis Год назад

      Denatured alcohol in cosmetics products literally evaporates from the skin. It doesn't even stay around. It lifts off and compresses the layer underneath it. Your comment is so biased towards your one anecdotal experience. You really think Maybelline and the others who use alcohol like this in their products don't know what they're doing?

    • @MsMoople
      @MsMoople Год назад +8

      Water is so strong, it can hollow out stone. The amount in this product would be small and the reason you had to wear a mask in a workshop would be , because you worked with it undiluted and breathing it in would be hazardous.

I tried the Iconic London skin tint balm and tbh not impressed, I will probably gift it to my friend. I've just order the Ultra Violet SPF foundation to try for spring summer use. Not a foundation, its a tinted serum/skin tint. That's why some people over-estimate these, but you either love it or hate it. I'm beginning to love skin tint as I get older (only 36!) More than foundations as they just look more natural, "your skin but better"

    Recently I have tried a few new foundations including Charlotte Tilbury and Lisa Eldrige but still prefer Loreal True Match Nude Serum, it is the only one that does not sink into my pores and gives me a light coverage which I prefer. Was rather surprised that the more expensive ones just did not work for me. The other foundation I love is the Bourjois Healthy Mix. All other foundations accentuate pores and look a little drying around them, most odd.

    I guessed right....really surprised myself!!!!! I love the Loreal during the summer months. I live in Houston, TX and we are hot and humid....when I say HOT I mean HOT, at 100+ degrees for the past 30 days and 90% humidity. This Loreal foundation is the winner for staying put , it does not melt off my face. I've had "normal" skin all my life but am finding that, with age, I have drier skin during the winter months....I don't care for the Loreal during those cooler/drier months. I want to try to the Maybelline but I can't see that there is a really a good color match for myself, they lack 'nuetrals'.

    Also, I prefer to apply the loreal one with a damp sponge, could that maybe help me get the Maybelline to not sit so much on the skin. The reason I ask is because I want a tad bit more coverage than from loreal but I still want the skin like look. And also, the Maybelline one is almost 50% cheaper than the loreal one where I live, so my budget wants me to try the Maybelline one😂😂

    I have tried a lot of foundations, both high end and drugstore. The L'Oreal True Match Plumping Serum is definitely my most used. I don't have sensitive skin and it's quite oily, so I find the alcohol in it to actually suit my skin. It's not heavy, looks super natural, yet covers imperfections well. I work in an environment where I meet a lot of people. I wear different foundations, but it's always when I'm wearing this skin tint that people comment on how great my skin looks. That tells me it's doing its job, so worth it for the price point. I'll maybe get the Maybelline just out of curiosity, but I love the sheerness of the true match.

I like the regular true match though with the wide shade range. I'm currently using the Bobbi Brown Long Wear weightless foundation and that has a strong alcohol smell. I guess that's what gives it its longevity. I don't really need anything to last that long though. I like my 😴 too much.

These types of foundations tend to be OK for occasional use, but then overtime can dry out the skin. I have to say, I like the Maybelline better, but I like a more flawless look. There's probably not a lot between the two really as regards ingredients as they are both made by L'Oréal. X
