While watching your video and looking at comments it occurred to me that older women past menopause face a real foundation dilemma. Some of us have wrinkles, dry skin, uneven skin texture and discoloration. Dewy moisturizing foundations tend to emphasize texture and they may not provide needed coverage. Yet most foundations with great coverage tend to make skin look dryer and emphasize wrinkles. Maybe you can address this issue sometime to help us older women make the best foundation choices. Thank you.
You are so right. Give the L'Oréal one a go. I have all of those problems & find it really good. Bonus not much smell either. Looks like skin & not foundation.
I found the regular L’Oréal Tru match in the pump bottle (not the Nude serum) gives me the best of both. Good satin coverage that can be built to medium full , lightweight, and blends on like a dream. There’s a good reason why it’s been around so long and liked by so many and good especially mid life thru mature skins.
L’Oréal does a better job than most drugstore brands colour matching and offering a range of colours. It’s still hard. A lot of higher end formulas are not much better. Thank you, Nikki. Great options and great application tips. 🌹
Loreal is sp expensive where i am now it's bately worth it for me. 😢 especially when there's no testers. I'm usually great at finding my shade but in loreal I find there's a lot of pink. It's been a while since I tried one but everything i tried in the past was pink. I really want to try this serum one now lol
Hey Nikki! Great uncut as usual. I’m wondering if you might be open to doing a once-a-month model video. Like one month you have someone with mature textured skin, another month someone with 30’s blemish-prone skin, etc. Just to give us a relatable, realistic expectation of what proper skin-prep and makeup can look like on everyday people. Yes, yes, your skin is TOO beautiful for many of us to relate to 😂 just a thought ❤
Yes, I like this idea a lot! Though of course people who model also have their own skin issues. I would also really like it if a professional makeup artist did your makeup occasionally, Nikki! Like maybe Lisa J or Alexandra Anele
Yes- please Nikki. We would love it, of you worked on a mature skin model and walked us through all of your tricks. And, it would be even better if the model came back 8-10 hours later to get back on camera again (wear test). Thank you for all that you do for us. ❤
I started following you before Christmas, and now I can't wait to watch every single video you record! I'm 61 with dry, textured, mature skin and you ALWAYS include options for my skin type, what to try and what not to try. Foundation is the hardest thing for me to find at this point and your perspectives have not only saved me time, but saved me money and heartache! Thank you for helping me look my best self!❤
I would love a series where you do make up on models with different skin types and what products work for them! As much as I love your videos doing make up on yourself, your skin is very flawless and suits every kind of finish. Not everyone can tolerate each finish of foundation and it would be interesting to just see how you do other people’s make up too! ❤
This is such an amazing idea I have large paws oily skin texture skin acen, I’d love to see someone with my skin and to see how to prep the skin put the make up on and get it to last sadly I no longer wear make up because it just looks horrible within 2 to 3 hours
Nikki, you have gorgeous skin❤. Can you show the rest of us how to cover melasma and hyperpigmentation? Mine always shows up, even w concealer and foundation or it looks thick and pasty. I can’t figure it out! Help!!
Best content and concept. Please consider for all products…primers, blushes, powders, eye liners, lip liners, etc. It would be an all in one place buyers guide.
That L’Oréal tinted serum foundation has me in a chokehold going on over 3 years I always keep coming back and I’m extremely oily in the summer. It’s so beautiful and buildable
Double wear really is that foundation. It’s also great if you’re on the oilier side like me, I don’t go very shiny at all and it looks so good at the end of my day
the Loreal tinted serum has the same base formula as the Valentino, which is owned by Loreal. Amazing drugstore foundation tbh, and the shades run neutral leaning olive which makes them super flexible despite being a limited range.
Thanks so much for this information! I look to you for education on how to wear makeup these days. I'm about to turn 70 and I'm looking forward to your use of a mature model so we older women can learn some new tricks. I hope you'll use a model that doesn't have perfect skin so we can see how to deal with things like texture and wrinkles. You are so beautiful and you are a great teacher! Thank you for all you do.

Having alternatives that are less expensive are necessary in my book. I'm always looking for new drugstore foundations. This was perfect! Nikki, you have to try the Maybelline sky high primer with the E.L.F. Big Mood mascara! Gives dramatic lashes to my nonexistent short sparse lashes!

Nikki, Thank you for All that you do. As soon as I can afford, I am dying to get ur brushes. I’m 46 years old. I lost my daughter a couple of years ago and now empty nest -last child left home. I’m relearning who I am and learning self-care. I have been diagnosed with a rare serious spinal disease called Adhesive Arachnoiditis. I mention it because a) I have to depend on family and now suddenly after being so active in my life having to apply for disability. b) to raise awareness of this disease for women who have had any injuries, spinal surgeries, epidurals, injections. In saying all of that, I feel the need to try to practice some self-care. You and I have a similar skin tone and style. I so appreciate your knowledge and efforts to educate us on makeup, techniques and options. Idk if I’ve missed it, but could you please do a video on ur skincare routine and/or options. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss and your diagnosis. I lost my youngest child going on 7 years ago and I have a whole mess of medical problems as well, including some spinal conditions. I'm 44 and have been on disability since I was 37. My daughter is an esthetician. If you'd like you can tell me your skin concerns and I'll ask her what she suggests.
@@kristinbagrier178 That’s so kind of you!! I’m so sorry to hear of your loss and spinal issues as well. Plz be careful with which treatments you allow. There’s no pain like losing a child. The shock and heartbreak is indescribable. Medical conditions to boot is unbearable. I send all my love to you. Contact me anytime. I have some hyperpigmentation. I have also had some slight “lagging” around nasolabial. Had quick weight gain from high steroids. I’ve lost most of it now but thinking fasting and juicing for abdominal distention still. I’ve always been a smaller person but my weight is from almost a Cushing’s syndrome. Skin is dull and dehydrated as well.
I’m also leaning in category for skin of color. Native American grandparents but have European as well so I err caution on certain treatments, just in case as I have been informed sometimes strong vitamin c, certain acids and/or treatments can make hyperpigmentation worse
Been an Estée Lauder Double Wear girl for 3 years. I actually didn’t realize how amazing this foundation was until I bought NARS Radiant Foundation and after so many variations of prep and bases and setting, nothing could stop it from slipping off my face. Double wear is honestly the GOAT!
I absolutely love the L'Oreal true match super blendable foundation (the one with the pump). I love it so much, and it doesn't feel like you have foundation on your skin (which is a must for me). ❤
Thank you Nikki, 5.75 Armani Luminous silk is my favourite as well and same colour match as you. Lol Im greek- European mix. Thanks for the “dupe”. You’re awesome!
Now this is the kind of videos we need…not promoting every single product that comes out…i think a lot of us are over that…spending way too much and its not needed..thank you
This was a very helpful tutorial,Nikki. I have been wearing the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation for 30 years. I was amazed of how much the L’Oréal Infallible looked so close. I did go out to buy it , but could not find a shade close to mine, but I picked up a “Natural “ shade. You are so right! Very comparable. Thank you for doing these tutorials. Your voice and your instructions are amazing. You are one of the Best out there. 🙋♀️😊💕🇨🇦
I love your videos so much. I was an Estee Lauder double wear wearer in the early 90's (wore it on my wedding day) and for years after that - prior i had only worn drugstore makeup. I love it but now I wear the loreal nude and I love it, like, a lot! I love that you include us older ladies in your recomendations. Thank you, you're a gem 💎
Thanks Nikki I've just bought the L'Oréal to try after watching this, will save my Armani for special nights out xx... If any of you in the UK Look Fantastic have it on sale for £11.99 today. Just got a bargain.
The problem with drugstore foundations is the shades. In the L’Oréal tru match there isn’t a shade close to my shade at all. I’m a light cool/neutral. Yet somehow there isn’t a shade.
Yes! I have this problem as well. I’m a light neutral undertone. The drugstore foundations are either too pink or too orange for me even if they say neutral. I used to buy multiple shades just to mix. I don’t do this anymore with high end foundations.
Same. I'm looking for a good foundation for special events and I just never have good experience with shade matching drugstore foundations. They either make me look grey or orange 😂 I'm looking to higher end foundations to be assisted in shade matching.
Same. Either too pink or too yellow. I love the infaillible wear wise, but color match for neutral skin? no chance. Now i know which high end to buy though XD
I remember years ago Loreal had a foundation called Lumi Magique that was so good and very similar to the True Match serum, I was so annoyed that it got discontinued
I am re-watching all your “Nikki Tries Every Foundation Etc. At Sephora” series before the sale starts! I am going to be so prepared to buy smart! Thank you for the sacrifice of your poor abused cheek. ❤
Always beautiful Nikki, I’m prefer the high end. There I said it😅. The drugstore foundations are always too orange or too pink even though it says neutral. As a teen, I had to mix several different bottles to get my shade. I’m able to get my perfect match in my high end foundations.
Me too. I prefer something high end for my face. Omg and my foundation lasts for a very long time. There’s no way I can finish a foundation bottle in a year. To me it’s an investment and I love to treat myself. You work hard and why not treat yourself ❤
What a great video! I have always been a bit of a foundation “snob”, but this has really encouraged me to try some of the more affordable brands as well! Nicely done! 🎉🎉
You're definitely right about Este Lauder Double Wear and L'Oreal Infallible! I love them both, but I typically go with drug store makeup and save money unless it's a special occasion. I haven't tried the other products yet, but I might have to now!
That L’Oreal true match nude is insane mixed with the new maybelline skin tint. Anyone with combo/ oily skin needs to try it if you want to partake with the glowy skin trend.
Never worn foundation a day in my life, but youre so good at explaining and showing that I watched this all. I know wear tests take forever, but I would be curious about the differences in wear. I'd be super interested in a similar video to this showing off brushes at the drugstore (or are brushes something you'd never suggest skimping on?).
Nikki this was great! I haven’t tried the NYX one, and it sounds like it might be great for my mature dry skin. But then again maybe they all would be especially the first 3 sets!💜
I did buy the true nude after wearing tinted moisturizers for years. It is awesome. I have large pores that looked a slight bit more prominent with this foundation but a blurring primer in those small areas fixed it right up. Yes, it is messy, but I am in LOVE with the True Nude. Gorgeous!
I have always been a high end lady, but after watching the comparisons, I purchased the Loreal foundation. I'm excited to see how it looks compared to my Giorgio Armani. Thank you for showing us alternatives! Love you Nikki!💜💜💜
I think everyone likes alternatives hahah thanks Nikki for sharing. I have the Estee Lauder foundation and I also have the LOREAL infallible which is harder to work with but it does the job well. Thank you for this tutorial and have a great day
Can you please tell us how it’s harder to work with? Do you use a brush or beauty blender? I found if I use a moody beauty blender it makes both foundations a bit easier to apply since the water assist with this. It also ruins the foundation out a little so it looks a bit more realistic in my skin.
Love your channel❤ Always great tips👍🏻I’m 68 yrs old and recently tried the L’Oréal true nude and was so pleasantly surprised😮 I usually use higher end foundations but this is so nice and so affordable, it has become my daily go to foundation. I have even recommended to my friends.👍🏻
Great video !! Thank u . With prom season coming up I would really love a video on how to coordinate your blush to the right shade /tone lipstick . 🙏❤️🙏
You have the most gorgeous skin, so it’s easy to see all these foundations/serums working perfectly for you! I’m close to 50, am getting dryer skin and most foundation or serum products settle into my lines and wrinkles. Can you do a comparison for all mature skin, light to full coverage, and how to prevent the settling? I would LOVE that! ❤️❤️
I'm 81 with dry sensitive skin. I've worn makeup for many years. I've found a lot of these problems are reduced by finding yourself a really good skin prep. Sometimes like today when I wasn't planning of being outside much I just used City Beauty primer with SPF25 and no foundation over the prep. Just play with layering and products that meet changes in your skin. If it doesn't work, it's removable. Hope this is helpful so you don't work as hard as I did to learn this.😊
I am new to your videos Love the blush video I am 59 and have worn Estée Lauder double wear since 1998 I just can not find anything comparable so his intrigued me Since I am older know i do mix a drop of Estée Lauder futurist with double wear . I am just surprised after all the makeup videos I watch that more are not talking about the double wear …. it is still amazing after 27 years
Didn’t realize I needed this video. I wasn’t looking for a dupe or less expensive version of any particular foundation, but I now have a list of drugstore foundations I want to try. I’m almost 50 and seem to always learn something from every video you make. I now know that I need to use foundations that have a thinner consistency. Good to know! Thank you again, Nikki!!
Yes please! With your knowledge and expertise this would be a great feature going forward. Great video! Armani luminous Silk is probably my favorite foundation. It's really difficult to find a good match for my olive complexion. No matter what I do Double Wear emphasizes my acne scarring in a way nothing has ever come close to. It's crazy because you look my skin tone until you hold up your arm 😂. Always excited to see a Nikki video pop up! ❤

I'm 44 and have been on disability since I was 37. My daughter is an esthetician. If you'd like you can tell me your skin concerns and I'll ask her what she suggests.
@@tmhart43 Thank you, Love. 💕
I ordered a pump from Amazon for the Loreal bottle. Had to trim the tube, but it works well
Love this "Like this, Love that"!! Agree, should be a regular series!!
I love the Nyx Bare With Me Blur 😍
It's my go to when im lazy or in a rush - it always looks great! & i find i don't need concealer with it!
Your video on makeup for beginners has been a game changer for me! Finally my everyday makeup looks good thanks to you!
Love the eye shadow you are wearing in this video
Thank you Nikki, 5.75 Armani Luminous silk is my favourite as well and same colour match as you. Lol Im greek- European mix.
Thanks for the “dupe”. You’re awesome!
Not me bored or anything, just mixed all the drugstore foundations she mentioned together, and it turned out really nice.
Love this! My wages are not keeping up inflation, this is beyond perfect, thank you!!❤
Now this is the kind of videos we need…not promoting every single product that comes out…i think a lot of us are over that…spending way too much and its not needed..thank you
This was a very helpful tutorial,Nikki. 🙋♀️😊💕🇨🇦
Yes!!!. THANK YOU!! I always need videos like these.
The elf and true match nude are absolutely in my top drugstore picks too! Great video!
Please do a concealer versions aswell pleaseeeee love you! Xx
I love the Loreal True Match Nude! I bought a pump on Amazon and that works great, so much better than the dropper!
I find that there is no shade for me in Estes Lauder, I am a neutral and their shades are either too yellow or too pink
@@fineartlifestyling thanks, than i will search for another brand. Which one would you suggest?
I use the L’Oréal true match serum… I LOVE it!!! I feel like my skin looks even better the longer I wear it. It’s witchcraft in that bottle 😂😂😂
I remember years ago Loreal had a foundation called Lumi Magique that was so good and very similar to the True Match serum, I was so annoyed that it got discontinued
I actuality mix the loreal freshwear & ester lauder foundations..i love it
I am re-watching all your “Nikki Tries Every Foundation Etc. At Sephora” series before the sale starts! I am going to be so prepared to buy smart! Thank you for the sacrifice of your poor abused cheek. ❤
Nikki Uncuts are my favorite
And the lives 😁
Always beautiful Nikki,
I’m prefer the high end.
I’ve had the L’Oréal Pro Matte in my kit for yearssss- it’s so perfect!! I added the elf Halo Glow last year to my kit and the mix of the two is 😚👌🏼
You're definitely right about Este Lauder Double Wear and L'Oreal Infallible! I love them both, but I typically go with drug store makeup and save money unless it's a special occasion. I haven't tried the other products yet, but I might have to now!
I love your foundation vid’s! All right all right, I love all your show and tell’s 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Also, I’m sure you must keep the high end in your pro kit for business reasons. People expect expensive when they are paying for your time.
More of this type of content, Nikki, please!!!
This video was amazing! Thank you so much for sharing these foundation alternatives. BTW, your skin is flawless. Absolutely stunning!
Girrrlll!! I can’t get enough of your videos, they’re so thorough and calming to watch! You have mad talent!! 🌸 🌸
I LOVE this video concept!!! PLEASE PLEASE make more!!
That L’Oreal true match nude is insane mixed with the new maybelline skin tint. Anyone with combo/ oily skin needs to try it if you want to partake with the glowy skin trend.
Wow you read my mind! Thank you and your gorgeous face for taking it for the team! hugs from Tampa
Extremely helpful video!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge & skills with us Nikki! You’re the best!! ❤ I love the L’Oréal!
@@fineartlifestylingI use a round, soft brush for the Loreal foundation and I put a primer underneath.👍
OMG thank you SO MUCH for this video!! Your channel is a true essay on beauty 🥰
I much prefer this layout of highlighting drugstore gems. It's really, really helpful to have them compared to higher end products.
Love this video!! Funny how the ones I have/tried are similar to high end ones. Who knew I was buying a dupe
Hope this is helpful so you don't work as hard as I did to learn this.😊
@@sheilasamuels1066 THANK YOU! 🫶🏼
thank you for this!! it was very helpful! love your channel! your makeup looks so good!!💗💗
I am new to your videos Love the blush video I am 59 and have worn Estée Lauder double wear since 1998 I just can not find anything comparable so his intrigued me Since I am older know i do mix a drop of Estée Lauder futurist with double wear . I am just surprised after all the makeup videos I watch that more are not talking about the double wear …. it is still amazing after 27 years
Would you consider doing a similar video using a 60+ model .... to see what settles in fine lines etc....love to see you do this.
Thank you Nikki for this video.
You have a beautiful complexion 😍 i think all the foundations look great on you.
I love the loreal serum more than the Maybelline for my dry skin ❤
Yes please! With your knowledge and expertise this would be a great feature going forward. As much as I love high end products, they feel like a treat for myself due to their cost, with affordable alternatives I can buy more amd experiment with more products and try the techniques that you so beautifully show us! Thank you for putting your gorgeous skin through this for us! Really appreciate everything that you do, and I absolutely love your content. Sending you love from the UK 🇬🇧 🩷🩷 xxx
So refreshing to see a long, in depth video with application process and thorough thoughts. This is what made RUclips Gurus best in the game at one point! unfortunate that short term is so prominent because this is the type of content and style that is actually helpful to viewers. Thank you!
This woman gives us so much opportunity to save money. God bless you. Love you much. Kisseessss❤❤❤❤
This is super helpful Nikki!!
I love this idea for a video! Can you pls do more with other makeup items like blushes and lip products? xo
Love watching you. You seem so kind and beautiful, but more importantly inside. God bless you!
Thank you, Nikki! Always beautiful to watch, & the most knowledgeable makeup artist I've ever seen. You're so kindhearted and thoughtful, Nikki. Your're always thinking about might be helpful for your viewers 😊. I appreciate you very much ❤!
I bought a 4 pan palette in the summer so I'll skip another but i love it. I think i bought it in the Nordstrom sale. Their powders are gorgeous!
That L’Oréal serum is 👌🏼 Thank you for the reminder that I need to use it more. It’s so lovely
Thank you for explaining everything so well (finish, application, shades, etc). You’ve saved me time, money, & stress. I just started trying foundation in my 40s & was about to give up. I can’t imagine how much time it takes to make these videos but very appreciated.
I didn't find that the Loreal had any luminosity like you had but the color 4.5- 5.5 was MY shade. Finally ! I found my shade!
Hi.. I have used the Armani for years as well as Chanel
.I also use the L'Oréal foundation...all give a beautiful finish...i have 70+ mature skin..your skin is flawless!
Thank you for this video ❤ you are so dedicated I love your channel!!
Love this video so much! You are right about the L’Oréal dupes I personally have tried 2 of them and it didn’t break me out and I have sensitive skin ❤ More dupes please!
25:27 one size bbb cream is so good, I want to try the nyx blur tint foundation
Thank you Nikki, i followed your contouring technique on my face and it changed the game for my finished look, i used to follow the typical highlighting and contour and bronzing styles and would always look like my makeup doesnt fit my face, than i followed your technique, i looked in mirror, the look completely complimented my face
