I wish all us wheel, cam and lever instinctive shooters could get together a shoot together. We as instinctive shooters are a unique group. Keep up the video’s.
I've had my phoenix since April. I've tried numerous setups and shooting techniques. Your methodology is great. I shoot best 3 under, bow canted, while bringing my eye just over the top of the arrow looking down it. Focus on target adjust for distance and let her fly. I have used the QAD rest, the flipper rests, and the whisker biscuit (with 15 degrees cut out of it).I am sticking with the whisker biscuit b/c the arrow flight is good and it makes the least noise. The whisker biscuit does chew up feathers a bit. Had an old guy at the archery shop tell me to wrap the front part of the feathers in B50 to make a sort of ramp. I'm still experimenting , don't know yet if it will make feathers last a bit longer but in a week or so I will know. Shooting with fingers, I have to keep the bow under 60 lbs or I start to get finger numbness shooting it everyday. Thanks for the videos they really helped me set this thing up and start tinkering and experimenting .
You are clearly way ahead of me shooting without sights. I will offer one idea I seldom see others talk about. When you come to anchor and settle in, with your draw hand, curl your little finger and touch the pad of your thumb with the outermost digit of your little finger. This came from Howard Hill. What it does for some is really allow you to flatten out the draw hand fingers and get the sensation that you are pulling with your back muscles. It may sound weird but it works for some so the reader may want to at least play with it and see what it does for you. Love your videos.
Thanks buddy , yes !! I used to do that and forgot all about it until you just mentioned that, when I get home and do some shooting I gotta get back in that groove, forget little tricks like that in the day to day madness 👍🏻
@@TRIBEDRAKE I want to say again how helpful your videos are. I have followed and envied Tim Wells for 20 years, but the simply will not or cannot share much about how he shoots. Great video dude. Barebow shootn takes practice. I've learned to float my arrow in my perephial just like my sights on my tournament bow. Seems to help my consistency.
I'd love to see a video on how the Oneida pulls like a recurve. If you shooting a 50 pound Oneida at what point in the draw does it break over or the cams take over? Where ever it breaks what would your pull weight be right before it let off? I'm a recurve shooter but due to old age(68) and neck/shoulder problems I am interested in this bow. I have a compound but all the draw force is on the front end and I just can't handle 50 pounds. I shoot a 47# Bob Lee. I'm enjoying your down to earth videos.
