- In mid-November, Lufthansa Technik handed over the first complete Airbus A350 to the German Armed Forces for use as a VIP transport aircraft. Named Konrad Adenauer, after the former chancellor of Germany, the aircraft is the first of three A350-900s to be outfitted for the government.

Beautiful new German Air Force One 🇩🇪
Don't you mean Luftwaffe eins 😀
No. This is the Air Force One 😏
Since it's not burdened with typical commercial pax/cargo load factors, that alone helps extend the already impressive range.
Germany will now be able to deliver helmets with these aircraft if another war breaks out.
@@Jl777100 I wonder where you are from...
And maintenance costs are much lower because of less frequency and lower payload. It's range is also extended because of cargo space containing extra fuel tanks and less baggage cargo. ACJ350-900 and the upcoming BBJ777-8x will be the longest range planes in the world.
Very vibrant Color scheme, I love the A350
Good looking plane, good looking livery
By far this A350-900 is far more advanced than the Airforce one, absolutely.
In their standard configuration, 100%. Although it's always hard to be sure what these sorts of plans are actually kitted out with. Airforce one might have an old airframe but the modifications it's had done from a standard 747-200 are extensive.
The 22 year 742 is less advanced than a brand new a350??? That’s crazy
@@KS-lx7ng 😄😄🤗🤗absolutely.
@@aydinsengun5088 🙂🙂that's true.
@@KS-lx7ng A359 goes further, burns less fuel than B742, isn't really advanced?
To me it is a good choice since Airbus produces aircraft in Germany. The winglet detail is exquisite, I only wish the 10+01 etc had been much larger. It is a very German way to label aircraft. No doubt Herr Adenauer would've loved to fly in it. Good name choice too.

I Love the A350 .Great work
Great jet, great choice!!
777x is better
@@evergrandebestrealestate4854 one aircraft is in service, the other is not, just saying.
@@evergrandebestrealestate4854 That is unproven, since the FAA don't believe the 777x is fit to fly commercially yet.........
@@evergrandebestrealestate4854 Its better on paper if that's what you mean
It's not even better on paper. It's a Boeing over-cooked 777-300ER with new engines, overstretched fuselage and folding wingrips. There is nothing to be excited about it. Sale numbers speak lots of how niche this aircraft is. These days Boeing love re-engining aircraft that take ages to be certified. The 777X has been 12 years on the making. The 777-300ER was a great product; they should have stuck to what they know best and design a brand new aircraft in that segment instead of leaving all to the A350 . They entered the ultralarge aircraft segment again, which didn't do well the last decade (747-8i, A380). Tha A350 was the obvious choice for the German government
A very nice and suitable aircraft for the German Air Force! Thanks to the A350’s performance, this should a perfect aircraft for them!
it's good for vip transport not too big, not too small, Etihad pilot in Sam Chui's video said "it's fuel efficient like a Tesla car" so a350 really knocked out bigger aircrafts, so Airbus really pulled it off with all categories with the A350 in my perspective for passenger, vip, now lets see how a350 will do in cargo version
They really used beer to christen the plane
Yes, it prevents the paint from pealing ;-)

Nice. We need a complete tour of this bird
I have seen 10+03 couple of times now, at Toronto YYZ and Calgary YYC, livery looks great
it is a beautiful aircraft !!
Congrats 👏
In an age where governments and private jet owners are lambasted for environmentally unfriendly travel using VIP aircraft, ditching the ageing quad jet and going for a brand new, fuel efficient aircraft makes sense.
Interesting video, thank you.
That’s some range!
it looks luvly...
Just saw this bad boy landing in Dulles this morning.
Great choice!
C'mon: Airbus is European project with a massive German share. It's difficult for us to install a different product to the governmental fleet. (Exception Bombardier - Airbus acquired 2018 a 50.01% majority stake). A350-900 - perfect choise, I like this German Air Force VIP livery design, plane spotted some of them (16+02 (A340), 15+03 (A319), 14+06 (Bombardier BD-700)) at Munich airport last and this year. But I wonder: Is the 10+01 air refuelable?
Good choice
wow...pesawat yang sangat keren mister
Currently the only ACJ350
Check out D-AKAY.
@@YSLaurens This aircraft is currently being outfitted with a full VVIP interior by AMAC Aerospace Switzerland Ltd
I wish Canada would buy one of Bombardier's big business jets for government use.... with some mods of course for security and number of passengers.
The leftist Communist Prime Minister will likely use his broom stick to fly around the world, not a modern aircraft.
Great plane for government use.
Was the interior footage of another plane? Or perhaps it was the camera perspective, as the cabin did not seem particularly wide.
it even says in the video that its a narrowbody. Bottom left corner
@@MrSchwabentier Well, that makes more sense. On my computer the captioning apparently covers that.
It was from an a320 family aircraft from the transport wing the Flugbereitschaft of the Bundeswehr
Germany is from Europe so it is a good choice to use Airbus newest plane
Quite an obvious choice for the German government. A very good choice tho
Airforce one anytime 😊
This is what the United States should have done, instead they went again with "Delayed" Boeing equipment and it's doubtful they will see the aircraft flying before 2025.
Airbus do not offer their aircraft as an option for Air Force One. Too much information transfer involved
Switching to Airbus from Boeing would entail purchasing over $1m in spares and fixtures that the Air Force already has for the 747. The delivery problems are due to Covid-19 that impacted Airbus as well and narcissist Trump's desire to be a hero by "saving money" buying aircraft originally intended for Russia. The outfitting of the new VC's would have been smoother & quicker if Boeing didn't have to retrofit existing airframes that weren't purpose built. Purpose built airframes also would have included mid-air refueling capability that couldn't be retrofitted.
they went with boeing because one of the military requirement for president transport is that it has to have four engines
@@mel0214 Airbus A340 & A380 both have four engines and the the A380 has more usable deck space than a Boeing 747-8. The decision to build out a 747-8 for presidential use was strictly a matter of an American president flying on an American built plane, the USAF having lots of +++ experience with Boeing transport aircraft and the aforementioned inventory of 747 parts & fixtures. In a few years when 747-8's are retired by their original purchaser's & subsequent freight operators, you can expect to see the USAF quietly purchase a couple and put them in "storage" at Davis Monthan AFB in Arizona...
@@wizardgmb , and the big american ego has to fit in it.
Once again.... please bring down the music. I understand that is a form of branding for the content, but your branding is harming the product it is meant to protect and enhance value to.
Cool!
I think the A350 is better than Air Force 1 and more fuel efficient!
If the US Air Force cared about fuel efficiency, they would have retired the B52 the c130 by now
The Americans will not care about fuel economy, the symbolism of the B747 is much more important to them. The cabin is also much larger, which suits the space requirements of this flying command station. The German government's A350 is not a flying command post.
They can afford those aircraft. The A350s are, in my opinion, more beautiful planes than B747s. But it may just be the European pride speaking.
Is it electric? 😅🤣🤣😂😅🤣
I'm an American and I agree. I've always liked the black mask around the windshield and this particular livery is really smart looking.

I'm impressed! Germany does not operate nuclear weapons directly. But this is very similar to state planes. Except not UK for some reason.
take notes US Government. baffles me that the president can’t use Boeing 777 or 787
It's inefficient, but honestly I think the 747 is still the best for AF1. It's just so iconic and I'm glad they got two -8's to be the next generation despite the cost.
While there's definitely a level of technicals that made them choose the -8s to replace the -200s, it's also just *bigger*.
I would guess that with 4 jets there would be a bigger safety margin for super long flight needs say staying airborne for a couple of days.
The Japanese Air Self Defense Force has already replaced their B747 Japanese Air Force Ones with the B777-300ER which flies the Emperor, the Prime Minister and other Japanese Government Officials on overseas trips.
Great aircrafts, but by sure not as the 747 AF1
You would think that being a important government plane they would have put in in-flight refueling.
that would mean they'd need tanker aircraft all around the world. Germany doesn't have that. Also with 18000km range its not really necessary.
By the way, even the new Air Force One will not have in-flight refueling capacity.
I mean, it's not in the same league as Air Force One...but it's not a bad looking bird.
Looks very good
a fleet of 3 brand new A350-1000 HGW ACJ & two A350-900 ULR ACJ makes more sense . . . all three brand new A350-1000 HGW ACJ is reserved exclusively for the heads of state and the two A350-900 ULR ACJ is for other state VIPs representing the German Govt . . . in the past the German Govt should have operated a fleet of two brand new A340-500 HGW ACJ or the A340-600 HGW but not the A340-300 . . .
thats far too many aircraft. theres no need for that

First let’s gooo
Sorry, I'm first, you're second
I would be interested to know from any German viewers, what the reaction is from the German people about the new aircraft fleet? Has there been a lot of bad talk about spending too much money on planes for the government? In the UK, there was bad public reaction to the government getting to use ONE A330 Voyager with a pretty standard long haul business class cabin, and a leased contract A321 aircraft. I can't imagine what the British public would say if the government bought three wide body jets solely for VIP government transport... But I don't think it would be positive.
It of course has been reported, but I don’t remember there being too much fuzz around the order. The argument of the A340s being in need of a replacement seemed logical, especially as they constantly made headlines because of them e.g. often having to be grounded and the chancellor then having to rebook to a normal airline flying that route. It happened more than once.
But of course I could be biased due to my interest in aviation, but I definitely remember hearing more about that Voyager repaint than the A350 order. Government aircraft have a purpose and just like any other aircraft eventually need to be replaced, and replacing older A340s with an A350 seems logical, especially as the aircraft will likely stay in service for quite some time.
@@spongebubatz Thanks for the reply. I personally don't have a problem with Government transport aircraft and believe we should have more of it in the UK, but yes, even just the re-paint of the Voyager (which was due anyway as part of the scheduled maintenance program) was absolutely blown out of proportion by the press and some sections of the political farce in the UK. I would love to see us have something like an A350 (big fan of them as a passenger) solely for Government use instead of sharing one with troop transport etc. I work in aviation and would like to see more of it for the country.
