      If you guys haven't already, you need to watch Patrick Gavia's video on Mighty Mouse. That creator is making some fire mini-docs on fighters.
      But yeah, same bro; admittedly his nickname is what originally got my attention when I first started really watching the sport (I mean look at MY name, should make sense lol), but was a fan from then on which happened to be his UFC debut. Had mixed feelings on seeing him get traded; I hated that he wasn't in the UFC anymore, but knew he wasn't happy there so hoped it would be a good fresh start for him. Happy to see him steadily proving his haters wrong.

      I initially thought Glover should have retired with the belt, and had he done so nobody would have complained as it would have been a Hollywood scripted send-off for him. I have been the guy screaming into the wind that DJ is the best fighter we've ever seen, and so many of my friends used to be like "yh he's good but he didn't fight top guys." If you simply just watched DJ and not the fight just him and his movements it would be so obvious how good he has always been, literally everything he does is technically perfect.

    • @madgavin7568
      @madgavin7568 2 года назад +2

      DJ has low-key an all-time great resume. His resume is superior to every WMMA champion (including Nunes) and even many male champions. Wins over Kid Yamamoto, Miguel Torres, Joseph Benavidez x2, John Dodson x2, Ali Bagautinov, Kyoji Horiguchi, Henry Cejudo and Adriano Moraes make him top 10 (arguably top 5) GOAT fighter.

      @@madgavin7568 not to mention while Wilson Reis isn't a great MMA fighter, he was a legit top level BJJ guy for the smaller weights, DJ submitted him with relative ease. For me I honestly don't see how you can put anyone above him, Jones is a cheater, Silva is a close 2nd for me but we've never seen DJ get his ass beat the way chael did for 4 1/2 Rds GSP deffo lost to Hendricks, and while he is 3rd for me I just didn't get the same feeling of watching greatness during his run. And other than those names idk who is a legit comparison. And going over and doing it in ONE is the icing on top, everyone knows that ONE has the best 125ers in the world (I know technically it's 135) dudes the GOAT and it's not even that close tbh

    • @madgavin7568
      @madgavin7568 2 года назад +1

      @@cierankinsella3451 Look I like DJ but GSP is above DJ for the fact he avenged all his losses, defended his title a record number of times for his respective weight-class plus he became a two-division champion. Granted there were caveats like the Hendricks fight, and GSP only returned at MW because the champ at the time was Bisping, but as far as MMA careers go GSP has probably the most spotless of all the GOAT contenders.

    • @cierankinsella3451
      @cierankinsella3451 2 года назад

      @@madgavin7568 I'll be honest my main gripe with GSP is simply he didn't feel like a goat while watching him, and as for the avenge all their losses, I really only count DJs career at flyweight, he was far too small to be fighting 5"8 Dom Cruz and he was part time at that point in his career. The only real loss on DJs record is the moraes loss, I've rewatched the 2nd cejudo fight alot and even while trying to score it for cejudo, it's close but should've been a DJ win. I will never argue GSP as one of the best ever and the vast majority of my reasoning is based off a feeling that shouldn't have any bearing on the matter but GSP not being the GOAT is a hill I will die on... No matter how many facts and valid points ppl put forward 😂

    It's almost like the UFC hated Johnson. They'd always talk about getting rid of his division and whenever he won they'd talk about the division being weak. This during a time when Anderson Silva had a chokehold on the middleweight division. They'd even choose to hype up opponents who beat or almost beat him over giving him any credit.

    • @madgavin7568
      @madgavin7568 2 года назад +2

      The UFC always prefers marketable fighters. As great as DJ was, if the promotion for their fights were equal fans were always going to lap up Anderson over DJ in large part because of the size difference. Its unfortunate, but smaller guys won't get the respect they deserve until they can beat someone larger then them.

    Hey,
    I can see you did since we were talking about the Gracie Hunter/Killer. Congrats with the sponsorship.
    I wish you could do a vid about brotherhood in MMA. Haven't seen anything about it. The Rua's, Nogueira's, Emilianenko's, Pettis's, Lima's, Diaz's plus the one I forgot. What do you think ?
    Take care

    Volkanovski vs Max 3 should have been here. Or maybe Volk vs. Ortega because that fight was fucking crazy. But Volk definitely deserved to be somewhere near the top of this list. Max Holloway went on to have an incredible run after he lost his title - he was dominating everyone. Max was basically seen by many to still be the true flyweight champion and that he was robbed twice. Their last fight put an end to that idea after Volk dominated him for the entirety. Now Volkanovski is the P4P number 1 and rightfully so.

    I was at Peanut farm with my girlfriend and about 500 other fans at Alaska's biggest sportsbar and at about the 23 mark of the Usman vs Edwards 2 fight my girlfriend got mad and gave up on Leon Edwards who she was rooting for and went to the ladies room. Everyone thought it was over. Then "CRAAAACKKKK!!!" about a minute after my girlfriend left all 500 people exploded and a couple minutes later my girlfriend came back from the restroom and said "What Happened?! I heard everyone screaming!" I said "Sorry Fee-lee, but you missed it! Its never over til its over !!"

      @@thedarkcriminal1658 He missed weight by 4lb then again by 10lb but that's only part of it. My biggest problem with him is that e said he would take on all challengers to the title if he won it then as soon as he did he didn't want any legit contenders & instead kept banging on about wanting a McGregor fight. That would have been fine if he hadn't been claiming he wanted to be an active champ against legit contenders & hadn't wanted to hold up an entire division for who knows how long.
      I don't respect anyone that goes back on what they say. He should have just been honest from the start.
