      @@whackymack7431 Yes as did all the legends like iron mike, Jon Jones, Anderson Silva, Lesnar,Mir, JDS, and all the K1 dudes like Badr, just because Overeem trained like a bodybuilder and had better genetics and response to roids doesn't mean that he was the only one. And from all of this dude he was the only one in UFC that after his prime of roids to become no1 contender two times literally was second of finishing prime Stipe that considered goat of UFC and lost dude to low IQ moments most of his losses he was better and was wining but age and 20 years of top-level fight takes a tall on the jaw compere him vs another goat like Cain or JDS after the prime to Overeem he is superior and had super long career dude to his skills. the roids just eliminated all his quickness like his jaw and gave him incredible strength plus the world-class skills he had literally no weakness if he was in his prime vs ngannou the figth was over in that first exchange Ubereem would have overpowered and knee him to death like he did to a much more powerful and roided Lesnar.

There was even a promotional fan video on RUclips for a potential McGregor vs Garbrandt fight that drew millions of views. In a way, his rise was almost Jon Jones-like, but it all came crashing down once he faced TJ.

      Pride was the only sustainable org that had better fighters for a time, but remember that many of those guys themselves fought in the UFC prior. Baz, Randleman, Coleman, Barnett, Wanderlei. And since buying out all the biggest competition, UFC is the major leagues of MMA and everything else is a farm system. I wish it wasn't, but that's just the way it is.

    • @germanwolf9212

      @@Dukeflyhawker unfortunately yes, but it seems ONE is on a good way and they have a very big talent pool and keep growing at the moment.
      Bellator is able to produce good fighters but they get bought out by the UFC once they reach a certain level. But who knows, the promotional landscape can always change and Japan showed with K1 and Pride that non-american brands can be very succesful, albeit for a limited amount of time.

    • @Dukeflyhawker
      @Dukeflyhawker 2 года назад

      @@germanwolf9212 I'm not sure what it would take, but Japan could theoretically do it again. Even Dream was pretty good. What happened to them? Yakuza or something? I think the key is getting big US talent (i.em UFC cast offs) like they did in the 2000s, and then using one night tournaments to build new stars.
      Bellator is strange. They have big funding, and solid top level talent, but it's like two guys per division at best. Every one else seems like a first time fighter, every event. I'm subscribed to their RUclips channel and barely know what's going on over there. Their marketing, advertising and promotion is non-existent. I hear One is alright, but I do need to get up to speed on them more.
