Thinking about all that you went through, and it just shows me what a warrior you are! Wow! Like seriously Kelsie! Physically, emotionally, and spiritually, you have been put through the ringer! Look at you, here to help others! I ADMIRE you! You might not believe you are strong, but dang, you are here putting it all out there to reach others! That is truly amazing and I am so proud of you! PS. You are beautiful inside and out!
Girl, this spoke to me! I start stims tonight for my 3rd, yes, you heard right, 3rd egg retrieval. 😕 Most would think I’m a pro at this point, but man, you can never be prepared for all the “what if’s”. I was lucky that my first round of IVF gave me my son, but no other embryos. Naturally I thought, it has to work again! Boy, was a wrong. My fresh day 3 (in 2018) from round 2 resulted in a chemical pregnancy, and last year we finally transferred our one frozen embryo. That pregnancy I lost at 12 weeks...a missed miscarriage and also a girl. 💔 We’re at a different clinic this round and I’m hoping for the best, but also keeping my guard up. I think what I would tell anyone going into IVF is to not be so hard on yourself. You can drink all the pomegranate juice, eat all the pineapple, wear 3 layers of fuzzy socks and it still might not work. You can do everything possible to get that BFP, but if it doesn’t work, just know it’s not your fault. Infertility sucks, it’s a roller coaster of emotions and beats up your body, your heart, and your bank account. It’s just good to know that no matter what, you’re not alone. ❤️🌈🙏🏻
I’m literally going in tomorrow for my baseline appointment for my very first IVF cycle. I’m so nervous and excited. Thank you for opening up and sharing about your experience, my heart goes out to you with your losses and struggles. I appreciate you being very real in this video and explaining the things that may go wrong in the process. Watching this I feel like I can be more emotionally prepared for the whole process no matter what happens now. Thanks again and sending lots of love to you. Also I think that app will be a lifesaver for me!
Us IVFers go through so much. Sometimes we dont even realize how much until we think back on it!! Thank you for being brave and sharing your story with us!
Oh Kelsie, you are giving insights from your experiences that I have not seen on other channels and it is a big contribution. Thank you for sharing and know that those of us who have followed you through all this really, really care about you and appreciate you. I think you are very strong and very human and I wish you get all that you dream for this year. I admire how you keep moving forward. God Bless.
You are beautiful but I get how you feel. The depression from infertility treatments is so damn real. And thank you for always being open and honest about your journey! I will always wish you the best...you deserve it...a million times over! 💜💜💜💜💜
🙌🙌🙌 I had NONE of the risks for OHSS, and I got it anyway. I don’t have PCOS, I’m over 30, low AMH/egg reserve, and only got 16 eggs from my retrieval. My symptoms lasted about 12 days and my abdomen was huge for almost 3 weeks. It was a horrible experience. Also, going through 3 miscarriages and then stim, I can attest that my mental health suffered. Thank goodness I found a grief counselor AND a psychiatrist to help get me back to a more balanced state.
It's so good to see you on here talking about very real topics. The infertility world is so different than when I went through it in the early 90's. So many advances etc. I have faith that you will know when the time is right again to try or to explore other paths to parenthood. Praying for you and please always be real. Much love from East Tenn.
I broke down when you talked about depression and anxiety. This is very real for me too. Thank you for talking about it. Huge hugs and support to you in your journey and wishing you a BFP soon. 👍
Thank you for sharing this. I've just been given some world-shattering news so I guess IVF is my only option for pregnancy. I'm glad I found this video because nobody talks about the emotional side of things. I don't even know when I'll be going through this but I've got a consultation coming up with a fertility specialist. The scariest part for me was the financial aspect, honestly. But I would pay every last penny I've got to have my own baby and hold him in my arms. I'll do whatever it takes. This video didn't necessarily make the process less scary, because it's different for everyone but it certainly gave me the mental preparedness I will need. Thank you, and good luck on your journey.
What I didn’t know is that frozen embryo may not do well during thawing. I had 6 and only 1 survived. They say normally around 90% survives, well not in our case... also nothing is set in stone during IVF and anything can happen!
Do be sorry for your emotions girl you are one of my heroes I can honestly say that I would not be handling my own fertility journey as well with out your video you advice your spirit and your strength it gives me strength to geep going and keep trying for my dreams and I thank you for that so please dont be sorry I get it and I understand infertility sucks dude sucks worse then anything ever I think
Thank you for your video.IVF is a rollercoaster and it is obvious. I got couple tips thought especially for women with hight AMH (pcos) and women that tend to have ovarien stimulation and retain water. Diet really help : 1-plan low carb hight protein diet that will help your body not retain water.(i would add 0 sugar including fruits except berries) 2-hydrate alot and use coconut water it is powerful to hydrate your body. 3-daily 1hour walk or cardio if you can. These tips are life saver for me especially the diet. For oestrogen contrôle i have noticed difference if i use dairy or not during the ivf maybe you want to avoid it on the cycle while you are getting all the treatment or lower it. Hope this helps.
You had me crying with you here. ♥️ 😥 Thank you so much for posting this video. I have a consult with my doctor tomorrow to discuss IVF and your video helped me formulate some good questions. Sending you love and virtual 🤗 hugs!!!
Yes to all of this!! OHSS is awful, I’m experiencing it for the second time. And salty foods and Gatorade do not work. Anxiety and depression are real.
Thank you for sharing! You are awesome and you are beautiful. I experience loss too, a ruptured ectopic that nearly too my life. I have done several IUI’s and no luck. Next week I start my IUI meds, and I’m scared. I will also be doing a video diary of journey that I hope to share on my channel soon. God has a baby just for you, you don’t have it yet because your is soooo much more special and it’s gonna take a little time to cook it up just right. Specially crafted just for you. ❤️
I know what you are talking about, my first ivf failed, I did it just before lockdown and it finished in late Feb. It was devastating, people have no idea how hard ivf is, and what it entails unless you experience it for yourself. Six months on, I still have water retention, my embryos were really healthy as I was too at the time. Before doing transplant I did 3 rounds of egg collection and that is what effected my health after. I recommend once you have done egg collection wait before doing transplant and ask the doctor to transfer 2 embryos if you have them because 1 is less likely to work. But of course, consult doctors.
Kelsie you look amazing your still so beautiful! ❤️ Don’t let your self esteem or compare with others your so unique! I’m so many ways and can rock a swimsuit 🩱 better than they can! ☺️ be strong take your time when time is right you’ll feel ready and I’m so sorry for all you’ve gone through and thank you for sharing such deep part of your life with us. Much love your way kelsie 🥰
You are such a strong mama 💪💛💛💜 you are going through all this to bring your babies here. I'm so proud of you! I just want to expand on the albumin thing if people are confused, basically albumin keeps fluids in your blood stream instead of letting them settle into organs or tissue groups (the basic gist of what ohss is which is why its so painful!) And side effects of albumin are sob, fever, n/v, fast heartrate, rash and flushing of the skin.
Kelsie, thank you for sharing!! I know another medication that can be used to help avoid OHSS is Cabergoline. In the studies I’ve seen, women are significantly less likely to have OHSS when taking cabergonline alone, or even cabergoline WITH the albumin infusion than they are with albumin alone! I had over 60 follicles and 44 eggs (only 22 were mature though). Either way- I didn’t wind up with OHSS. Just a helpful tip for people to ask their doctor about if OHSS is a concern!
Thank you for this video! I start IVF for the first time on my next cycle. I'm very nervous as I've had OHSS before with an ectopic pregnancy. This has helped to prepare me mentally a bit more.
What suggestions do you have for IVF bullet Journaling? I'm about to start the IVF journey after three failed IUI procedures. It has been such a difficult season. I'm almost 40 so time isn't on my side. I am physically and emotionally exhausted but I'm pushing forward.
Here are a few things I didn't know that might help others 1. Supplements take 3-6 months to help. So start taking them early! 2. About 50% of embryos are abnormal so if you don't do genetic testing, you probably have half the embryos you think you do. It just helps to keep a healthy perspective and not blame yourself. 3. Fertility clinics are not equal. They all do a different protocol and work in different ways. 4. Before the retrieval, you will have to drive daily to the office for an ultrasound so pick a clinic you're comfortable driving to often.
Did they have you do the hcg trigger shot for your egg retrieval with your estrogen being so high and the high egg count? My estrogen was right under 5,000 and the doctor did not want me getting OHSS, so only ended up doing the luprolide and not the Ovidrel hcg trigger shot for the trigger shot and I did not end up getting OHSS.

Good video. Hate the abridge commercial in the middle of it.
Girlfriends gotta get paid.
Ohhh I’m early!
Are there reasons why some end in miscarriage and others don’t?
Is ohss specific to ivf or does it happen with other stimulating drugs that you would take for iui?
Emily Ann Lincoln typically yes, it can happen with IUI but it’s very unlikely because to goal of IUI is a small amount of mature follicles.
Any idea why doctors are so gun shy to try prednisone?
Your gorgeous by the way!! And rocking a good bod!
