- I'm finally back in Korea preparing for my frozen embryo transfer (FET)! After seven back-to-back IVF egg retrievals last year, I am more than ready for my rainbow baby (or babies)! In this video, I share the medication I've been prescribed to prepare for my embryo transfer. Many forms of estrogen and progesterone to thicken and prepare my uterine lining for implantation. I share details of the steps I've taken after each doctor's appointment and also how the hormones have been rather difficult to deal with this time around.
About me ❤
My name is Hellynn and live in the US, but I've traveled to Korea (where I'm from) to undergo multiple rounds of IVF. Being 40 and trying to bring children into the world is hard, but I also have a condition called diminished ovarian reserve so I'm doing back-to-back IVF egg retrievals.
Navigating this world of infertility is definitely a challenge - a million new acronyms, hormones and protocols to learn - it's a lot. So I thought I'd just talk about everything I've been learning for the women out there who have had similar struggles. I'm also happy to share info with anyone who is interested in traveling to Korea for IVF, since it's much more cost efficient + high success rates here.
I am treating this YT channel as my diary, talking about the ups and downs of my journey to motherhood so that one day, hopefully, my babies will see how they were created... with fierce, enduring strength and love.

I am 38 y/o, My husband is 75 y/o,
This is my 2nd IVF. The first wasn't successful due to PGT came 2 abnormal embryos. 4 months after I went to 2nd IVF cycle with different clinic. I had 4 egg retrieved, and 2 where fertilized, Today 2/26/24 is my embryo transferred.

@@hellynn_j My doctor here in Florida refused me to test the 2 embryos, She said it's better to have fresh transfer & give chances to the embryos, than to do PGT. She believes based on her studies that the embryo self correct once with Mother's womb. I found a doctor who have same perception like I do.
I have symptoms now mild abdominal cramps, low back pain, GI upset, and headache.

Updates, Hellyn I am pregnant now, 6 weeks. As I mentioned before we had 2 embryo transfer, only 1 went to pregnancy. I am doing good so far.

You got this .😊 i just recently had my rainbow baby via IVF in Dec . 2023. I remember after my transfer i remember laying on my couch and watching comedies. I think the laughing helped . I was also on progesterone and seen my acupuncturist 2 days before the transfer . Good luck.❤

My condoleances on the loss of your grandma. Also, sending you good thoughts as you're getting closer! You're very brave and have come such a long way. I'm 42 with low AMH and in the process of doing something similar (moving to a different country to go through multiple cycles of embryo banking before FET). So when I say you're an inspiration, I mean it literally ❤

I'm getting prepared for my oocytes to be collected. Same medication as yours prescribed as well. Have you taken baby aspirin, and b-control prior oocytes collecting? Good luck to ya
Hi! These meds except for the estrogen are all new and just for the embryo transfer. For egg retrievals, it was mainly FSH injections and the shot to prevent ovulation, and the trigger shot. Oh, we also prepped with chlomid once.

Hmmm progesterone subcutaneously. I take them intramuscular. Good luck next week. Mine is this week.

Did you use same egg retrieval protocols? What was your most successful protocol? Did you take a month off between retrievals?
Hi! Every protocol was different. But they always prescribed whatever medicine on the spot bc I could just pick up the meds downstairs at the hospital so I wouldn't say there was a specific protocol...rather constant moderation of dosage after each scan every few days. My best was when we did a higher dose of 225iu AM and 150iu PM of follitrope. I would do mostly month to month retrievals but after 3 months in a row I would usually take a break!
I’m going through my second IVF round at the moment. I know you did PGTA testing on two of your embryos but did you decide not to test the rest ? I don’t know what to do but I think I’ll test.
Hi there, I decided not to test because I don't have a lot of eggs to begin with. But if I had normal AMH levels and produced more eggs then I totally would. I just don't think that 5-6 cells tell the whole story and sometimes good mosaics can be thrown out which is something i can't afford. Testing is a very personal choice... Every month! Sometimes less than a month. I would do about three in a row and take a month off. Would monitor via scans to make sure I was okay after each retrieval

I m 39 i had my egg retreival on 28feb, only 2 eggs retrieved and later i came to know both were immature i m so dishearten what should i do?
Aww I'm so sorry to hear that. I know that some labs can take immature eggs and develop them further outside of the body before trying to fertilize. Maybe you can talk to your doctor about that option? I've had a retrieval before with two eggs and neither made it so I understand the feeling. But the next round i was able to get five eggs and two blasts.
Wow I’m surprised your doctor let you inject PIO using a thin needle. Mine was thick and it was in the butt muscle. 😂 Good luck!
There are different types of shots! Mine was subcutaneous. Yours must have been intramuscular. Still... thin needles better😆

Did u test embryos this time before transfer ….what was the pgt test result ??
I had seven retrievals and only tested one round where I discarded all the embryos that round. I decided not to test moving forward because of the inaccuracies of testing but I'm still on the fence about it.
