  • How do you cope with a friend's pregnancy announcement while dealing with infertility? This question is one many of us face on our journey through IVF and infertility treatments. In this video, I share my personal story of navigating the emotional minefield of hearing pregnancy news from friends when my own journey to motherhood has been long and challenging. Through my experience, I hope to provide you with practical advice and emotional support, showing that you're not alone in feeling hurt, jealous, or even hopeless at times.
Infertility can be an incredibly isolating and painful experience, especially when it seems like everyone around you is getting pregnant effortlessly. I understand how these moments can feel like a personal blow, intensifying feelings of inadequacy and sorrow. To protect my emotional health, I've had to make the tough decision to distance myself from certain social situations and friendships that triggered my depression. Prioritizing my mental well-being has been crucial in pulling through the darkest moments of this journey.
In our journey through infertility, it's important to remember that it's okay to be a little selfish. Taking care of our own emotional health should be a priority - saying no to people, or avoiding situations that cause pain is a form of self-care. By putting our well-being first, we can find the strength to continue our journey and eventually share in the joy of others without compromising our own mental health. It's crucial to acknowledge and honor our feelings, and give ourselves permission to step back when necessary. 💗
    About me ❤
My name is Hellynn and I live in the US, but I've traveled to Korea (where I'm from) to undergo multiple rounds of IVF. Being 40+ and trying to bring children into the world is hard, but I also have a condition called diminished ovarian reserve, so I've done back-to-back IVF egg retrievals and now have moved onto transfers after banking some embryos.
Navigating this world of infertility is definitely a challenge - a million new acronyms, hormones and protocols to learn - it's a lot. So I thought I'd just talk about everything I've been learning for the women out there who have had similar struggles. I'm also happy to share info with anyone who is interested in traveling to Korea for IVF, since it's much more cost efficient + high success rates here.
I am treating this channel as my diary, talking about the ups and downs of my journey to motherhood so that one day, hopefully, my babies will see how they were created... with fierce, enduring strength and love.
I hope you find my videos helpful - thanks for stopping by.
