Don't ever feel silly... the whole fandom was crying at that moment between Angel and Buffy. It's brutal.
Spike: “God, he’s gonna kill her.”
*shrugs*
That bit always made me laugh and it’s totally on brand for Spike 😂
The Joyce and Spike brief chat cracks me up every time. "So, do you live somewhere here in town?" Lol. Theirs is a unique relationship. 😉
SMG does emotional monologues better than anyone
She started on Soap Operas, so she learned there, but the writing on Buffy is usually great, and she delivers!
Can’t imagine any Buffy fan giving you shit for crying at this. We all cried too.
"This is Spike, we're in a band."
Dakara: "He looks like he is in a band to be honest."
Yes James has multiple albums out. And Anthony Stewart Head has been in musicals in Londons west end for years before Buffy, most notable in Rocky Horror Picture Show.
It's gonna be fun when she gets to OMWF hope she remembers this
"That's everything, huh? No weapons... no friends... no hope... Take all that away and what's left?"
"Me."
Always chills. Always.
One of the best moments of the whole series. Definitely always chills. ❤
@@sherrysink3177 I prefer "It's a big rock, can't wait to tell all my friends. They don't have a rock this big" but sarcasm is my humor so I will always drift to it
@@andrewwiddicombe3912 lol!! That's a really good one too.
@@andrewwiddicombe3912 I've always loved Spike singing "Someone wasn't worthy" after Angelus' first attempt to remove the sword.
@@METerrell sounds the sort of thing I'd say too lol
Darla: close your eyes, turns Angel into a vampire
Buffy: close your eyes, sends Angel to hell
It's pretty obvious Angel's weakness is blondes😅
The music in both scenes is called Close Your Eyes.
And closing his eyes 🤣
That's a David Boreanaz thing too since his wife is blonde as well 😂
The point being that for shows of the time the entire audience expected Angel to be cured and there would be a happy ending to the season. But Buffy as usual breaks the convention but first pretends that it will play along before ripping your heart out.
This show is so impossible to predict. An episode can start with hilarity and end with heartbreak. Or vice versa.
It's similar with entire seasons. You won't know where the story is going until it gets there.
Please don’t worry about crying, we ALL cry with you. We appreciate so much the real display of emotion you have when you watch these episodes.
When a Buffy reactor is crying, what percentage of the viewers cry while watching that part of the video? I would guess that most of the time it is 50% or more. My main point here is that it is rarely anywhere near zero percent.
It's ok Dakara I still think of the last scene every time I hear that song and it took way to long for me to stop crying anytime I saw that ending showing your emotions in my opinion makes the reaction better everybody knows then you're not fake we want real reactions not fake ones and you're one of the realest on RUclips!! Loved this thanks D❣️
Same. I had more Moments in Buffy, they make my Cry
Thank you so much for your kind words my friend, means a lot that you're enjoying my content & my tears lol. Love this show!
25 years on - still the greatest TV show of all time!
15:18 The emotion in Sarah's face, when Angel says he feels like he hasn't seen her in months... Every time. She's so good.
She conveyed about 100 feelings in one look. She's incredible for sure.
This one's always a tearjerker no matter how many times one sees it, it's still so effing sad 😭 💔
Dru pretending to be Jenny is one of the cruelest things to happen. Even with the deaths. Dru not telling Spike she killed a slayer always bugged me. I'm almost convinced she didn't know Kendra was a slayer. This was a great reaction. Thanks!
no i think she did, Dru is much more insightful and perceptive than we give her credit for...Dru WAS a potential Slayer herself before she became a Vampire (though this is backstory lore so not a spoiler, that's why she has all those visions).
The buffyverse doesn't laugh at you, they cry with you.
I've seen this series over 50 times and still cry as if it's the first time I've watched it.
I've been watching these reactions for a week and already 2 seasons in. Look forward to seeing the rest.
Buffy showing the Winchesters how it's done ;-)
The previous episode you watched where they showed a flashback scene of Angel getting his soul back he hadn't remember any of the things he done until it all came flashing at him all at once
Buffy knows how to uninvite vampire's so it doesn't matter that much that he's been invited in. She also believes that he's leaving and not coming back.
Plus Spike and Joyce are comedy gold.
I absolutely adore how emotional you allow yourself to be on camera.
Some reactors seem to hold back, explain how they feel but not really show it, but I've always worn my heart on my sleeve. It's always nice to see other people who share that tendency.
20 years of rewatching and BtVS still makes me cry.
Becoming part 2 was a terrific ending to S2 setting up the brilliant S3. Here we see Buffy faced with the ultimate heart breaking choice to kill her lover or save the world. We of course know she will make the right choice. Willow comes through at the end, but Buffy has to go through with the final act. So poignant at the end when from afar Buffy sees her friends but decides to leave Sunnydale, Joyce too is so regretful as she knows Buffy is now gone after their terrible row, all against the backdrop of Sarah McLachlan's beautiful haunting ballad Full Of Grace. I think we can see Dakara you are now hooked on the show, as are all reactors that enter 'The Buffyverse' and it only gets better. You will devour S3 it's incredible!
She could and did both: Killed her lover and saved the world!
The Xander lie is so egregious because he confirmed to Buffy that she had no one in her corner (which wasn't true, but in that moment we know for a fact she felt like she had nothing left to lose, it another blow to her vulnerable emotional state)
Exactly this. Better if he'd just said nothing.
This!!!
Oh girl! We all cried on this episode! 😭
Oh, girl, you're supposed to cry! The first time I saw Becoming Pt. 2 (when it originally aired, I was 11 or 12) I was so down afterwards I couldn't eat for 2 days. But make sure to stay hydrated, because you still have 5 seasons ahead of you!
As for Buffy inviting Spike in, they were getting into an alliance in order to ruin Angelus's plan. If someone saw them and it got back to Angel or Dru, Spike would have been in trouble, which means Buffy would have lost an ally and as a result might have lost the fight. They got in the house so no one would catch them together. Which is also why they killed that vampire Joyce saw Buffy slaying, other than the fact that it was a vampire of course. Disinviting Spike later wouldn't have been a problem anyway.
Overall, this pair of episodes is probably my favorite finale and maybe my favorite episodes of the entire show. So good!
Don't worry about the crying. We've all been there and do the same still during re-watches. Regarding Spike invitation. She must have thought, she could easily reverse it like Angel's when it's over.
"Hello Cutie!" Legendary Moment with Spike and the quotes and memes and Rise 🤣🤘 I remember when I seen that on TV as a kid I liked him before but that moment sealed him as My Hero🎉 Yup Angelus hole different person to Angel so I will do as my child self did to Xander... ( Middle finger) 🤣 Ah Dakara good luck stay awesome 👍
And there we have the excellent close to a season where the show really found it's feet and learned to run... I'm sure that you got the parallels of Buffy "coming out" to her mother as a slayer and coming out in conventional terms today and the misunderstanding/conflict that can be created.... totally heartbreaking end where Buffy is about to finish Angelus off but finally gets her love back, a bit too late and has to sacrifice him to save the world again.... and then the final emotional scenes with the music from Sarah McLachlan playing just really set the close excellently and brought out Dakrya in fine form..... great stuff and can't wait to continue on with S3..... keep em coming
Thank you for releasing both parts of this finale at the same time!!
Oh, the tears, magnificent! This might sustain me for another month!
Probably worth noting that when this originally aired it was at a much lower resolution than what you’re watching now. It easier to notice the blatant switch between stunt “doubles” and actors was less noticeable on old terrestrial channels and VHS tapes now.
Guess angel is a prequel lol 😂
According too imbd both Sarah and David trained for the sword fighting scenes before shooting, the wide shots have thr stunt doubles
I wanted to verify because I could vaguely remember commentary about Sarah's abilities here.
Good Reaction :^) ... The classic Joss Whedon heart break. (He gives you exactly what you pine for and then snatches it away. The feels, the feels.)
Zander never trusted or even liked Angel. On some level he probably thinks IF Angel wasn't around, then Buffy could have feelings/attraction for him. But of course we the viewers know he got 'Friend Zoned'.
@2:52 "You daughter has a history of violence." The police officer / detective making the comment is the same officer that interviewed her in Ted. That is why he knows she has a history of violence.
It’s weird now but at the time, the resolution on TV, you couldn’t tell as much when it was the stunt doubles vs the actors. Now with bigger screens and HD, it’s more obvious.
I love watching Buffy reactions. While I feel that seasons 3, 4, and 5 are the strongest, it’s always the episodes from season 2 “Passion”, “Becoming Part 1 and 2” that I look forward to seeing the reaction the most. With the exception of maybe an episode in season 5 (I’m avoiding future spoilers here) no episodes change the course of the entire series the way the aforementioned 3 episodes do. The loss of a loved character in Passion and the loss of almost everything for Buffy in Becoming. These episodes are phenomenal and heartbreaking at the same time.
don't worry, we all cry on "close your eyes."
Thanks for giving us both episodes at once. You’re too good to us! 👍
Have to thank Sharon, it was all her idea! Show her some love and check out her RUclips channel (link in description)
Inviting spike might have been stupid but that scene with Joyce and him on the couch was worth it
The way you pronounce Buffy "Boffe" CUTE! Love your accent 😊
Yup this show😂😂definitely have more tissues available this show will break you an make you laugh at the same time. This show is so unbelievable especially when the story’s get going. I don’t mind the monsters of the week too they do a good job of making it about the main story too from now on.
This episod was a tsunami over my teenage years.
I thought about the invite Spike in too. But maybe she didn't invite him in. Because I can totally see Joyce tell them. "Ok, stop. You both come in now and then we talk." and with it already did invite Spike in (as it is her house too, she can invite him in too and she didn't know...) And what is done is done - Buffy had other things in mind to think of restoring the no-invite thing at the time.
One of the best Episode of Buffy… great Soundtrack…
I remember the first time I saw this, I bawled like a baby.
Sarah has an Black Belt in Martial Arts, TakeWonDo and Florett ;)
the first of only 2 times the Mutant Enemy icon at the end of the credits does something other than simply say "grr argh"
I don't know any regular watcher of this show who DIDN'T cry at this.
I love that you keep all the best moments i like when you editted the episodes🙏
All Sharon’s handy work, she’s a big fan of the show so she knows exactly what to keep! Link to her channel in my description 💜
The season 2 finale was great I really love the fight scene between angelus and buffy ⭐
"Tell me what the point of that was?" : Tears, of course! XD
Spike is the Billy Idol of Vampires. 😂 P.S. I defy anyone who has feeling not to cry at the end of this episode.
Billy Idol actually stole his look ;)
@@coldservings I wondered if anyone would catch that reference lol thanks
@@katarinad1309 BtVS is my autistic special interest (no joke. I am and it is) so this was not a reference I was going to miss. ;)
btw, NO, Angel have not done those terrible things, that is the demon, xander knew that, but even when he is with cordy, he is still jealous of angel.
the demon is suppressed when angel human soul is in the body, when the curse comes the human soul is gone, **poof** and now the demon control the fleshsuit
It's not about jealousy. Angel is an evil monster who caused havoc amongst Xander's friend. That's why he wants him dead. Xander is not in the wrong here. I don't think he should have lied to Buffy, but he's morally in the right.
Can’t wait for later episodes as I’ve watched them all years ago and enjoy reaction to it reminds me of how I was watching first time
Don’t ever feel bad about crying over Buffy. I’ve rewatched it more times than I can count and there are still episodes (like this one) that make me ugly cry! SMG could do an entire show with just her face acting! She is so amazing, you can’t help but feel for her.
As far as Xander’s lie to Buffy - it wasn’t fair to Buffy because he took away her choice of how to handle the situation. It wasn’t fair to Willow because obviously Willow didn’t say that. And to the people who hear the way Xander talks about Angel and thinks he’s not jealous of Buffy….It’s called denial! “Come out of the fantasy land!”
What was the point? Joss Whedon likes to make people hurt and he REALLY likes to subvert expectations. That is all.
To me the point is to get invested in some interesting characters and follow them through an intensely emotional journey... during which, pain, joy, or consequences are always a possibility.
True confession.
Sometimes I laugh at reactors when they cry...
... but my cheeks are almost never dry when I do.
I'm sure many people have told you this by now, but almost all reactors cry at Buffy during a handful of episodes.
This is still one of the saddest season finales I've seen from a show truly heartbreaking Joss Whedon is a emotional sadist 💔😭, also I know right I like the sword fight but the stunt doubles in the fight is so distracting 😂
They barely had the budget to make the show at all. Stunt doubling was one of the areas that they let fall by the wayside.
@@UTU49 yeah it's truly unfortunate they didn't have a higher budget then, but by Season 3 onward you can tell they got way more budget
Buffy is so right to say that to spike about drusilla 😂🤣
Good to see you have those tissue nearby,
She learnt from Supernatural. Always have tissues nearby...
Poor Angel; though he did say he'd be damned in the very first story!
Winter here is cold..... and bitter.....
💔
You may have missed it but Willow did in fact tell Xander to go and tell Buffy what they were doing. Instead he deliberately lied because of his severe dislike of Angel.
if only they'd let one of xander's demon girlfriends have him...
THE LIE!!
It wouldn't have made a difference though. It's not like Buffy would have fought any harder or better than she did. If anything, it might have influenced her to try to wait for the spell to work, which could have distracted her from the fight. There was also no reason for Xander to think Willow could even do the curse; up to this point she had never successfully cast a spell. We as the audience could somewhat expect it to work, since there was all the plot buildup with the floppy disk (and later audiences know there's a spinoff), but Xander doesn't have that advantage.
And, I don't blame him for hating Angel. Angel is an evil dangerous vampire who continually harmed everyone. I don't think he should have lied but wanting an evil vampire dead is not a moral flaw. And, Xander is rather consistent on this fact.
If you had not cried, then you would not be a human, or you had not cared for the show and just done it for views.
This episode gets me every time
The ending of this episode breaks me 💔
"She's going to have to push him in, right?" No. WORSE!
That look of betrayal on Angel’s face in the end was priceless. I’ll never forget it.😈
I think the main reason Buffy invited Spike into her home is because they'd just dusted a vampire sent by Angel to spy on them.
Great reaction. My fave moments of your reaction where 2:03 - 2:05, 8:22-8:50, and of course 14:54 - 17:40. Thanks for your reaction, looking forward for next season
Someone needs a drum set. 😁
This show will give you everything you want, but not the way you want it
Oh Dakara... you are just getting started! I hope you have a year's supply of tissues, cause you will need them all just for the Buffyverse episodes.
Poor Buffy 😭😭
I cry at commercials, Don’t worry about it lol
Great reaction Angelus makes best evil bad guy it's one of the best episodes this of whole buffy series
Thank you VERY much for going "all in" as you watch this show. It is such an emotional roller coaster ride but it is AMAZING and you still have several seasons and lots more highs and lows to come. One of the best TV shows ever made.
Thank you!
One of my favourite episodes gets me every time
Buffy can always change the locks...
Oh god, your poor little face! I couldn't bear seeing your happy tears when Angel was cured knowing what you were going to go through in just a few seconds. And if you're silly for crying at a tv show, then I'm silly too - and even more so for crying at a reactor crying at a tv show! 😂 But I knew what I was getting into, I've been catching up on your SPN reactions. 😭😭😆
Hearbreaking finale 💔WE talk about Buffy But it's really hearbreaking for Angel
You realise back in the day we had to wait a week for this ep? And then 6 months for the next season?
Yeah, this episode *hurts*. But it's so good.
7:09 / 19:51 To be fair, she knows they can un-invite a vampire since they did it in 2x17.
7:55 "Have you tried not being a Slayer?" is kind of a parody of a possible reaction to a child coming out as gay. It doesn't really play that way, especially with modern audiences, bc that is *not* a reaction we would expect from Joyce if, instead of the Slayer thing, she had just learned that Buffy was gay. But I think that was the original idea behind the line.
Absolutely wept my eyes out the first time I saw this. Still tear up having seen it at least a half dozen times. Did you watch the little Mutant Enemy tag at the end of the credits?
Big spoiler alert to everyone;
This reaction is amazing!💜🤗
Technically Spike is in a band! James Marsters is in a band called Ghost of the Robot. The album Mad Brilliant is my personal fav of theirs. Not sure if they're still together or not..
Hell yeah 🎸🎵🤘 Glad someone else enjoys hes talents and Yes James and hes Son are Playing together in there own👍
Fortunately the female cop's marksmanship is typical of police shooting--can't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside.
And note here at the very end:
Joyce told Buffy not to come back.
We know how Xander feels about Angel so we can't expect any support from him about what Buffy is going through.
Willow's last words to her (so far as Buffy knows) was "Kick his ass". No support there.
Cordelia was all "Angel went after everyone around you" again, no support.
Giles is in no condition to support her.
Is it any wonder that she took off?
And when Buffy cries, I cry.
That cop is evil. She tried to murder an unarmed teen girl running away.
I remember watching this episode as it aired. Not knowing if the story will continue and when. It was heartbreaking!
no one did because the show wasn't picked up for a new season automatically, so it was a way for the show to wrap it up just in case there was no season 3. Of course, as it worked out, thankfully there was a third season and beyond
"I've suddenly become really hot."
That ain't nothing new 😉
If you can get through this show without crying you're pretty cold hearted I think
The original Doyle died before this episode
I can't decide if 2x21 to 2x22 is my favorite episode combo of the whole show. But hey, swordfight.
Season 3 is one of the best seasons so you're in for a treat.
First time I was watching some Reactions on the series I watched like 20+ years ago. I like your reaction videos just to be honest it is hard not to spoiler something if you haven't seen any more Seasons on the series. xD
You'll need to watch Angel along with Buffy btw. Otherwise some episodes won't make sense in later seasons
Don't worry, she's got a watch list with the right order. She's just watched Angel 1x14 on her Patreon.
It's willow wouldn't have said it it's that she didn't say it period.Willow didn't say that your she told Xander to tell Buffy she was going to try the spell again and to keep him busy. Xander lied and it's a big lie.
Just like what happened to Angel when the gypsies cursed him and that Gypsy man told Angel that he was a killer, Angel started crying no no😢 because he doesn't remember doing that. The memories eventually do come and that's what causes Angel Pain, that he remembers all the horrific things Angelus did and now Angel is going to hell, he's going to get those memories of what he did to Buffy & gang while being in hell😫
The Movie is the prequel to the TV show.
Don’t feel bad about crying. BTVS has been making grown men and women cry for over 20 years including me.
You may want to watch the film to answer some questions of Buffy’s history
You really have to turn your brain off watching the fight scenes in this show, even watching it when it aired I noticed the doubles but I understand why it was that way. It didn't have the biggest budget lol
