One of the things I loved about the series is the fact that in almost every instance you can see both Wille's and Simon's side of the story. Really well written series.
I think Simon likes Wille just as much as Wille likes Simon, it’s just that for Wille it’s more of a “first crush, queer awakening, no subtlety” kinda thing, whereas Simon’s clearly known he’s gay for a while (my guess based on some subtext would be since he was 12-13) given how comfortable with his sexuality he appears to be, and thus has had time to gain subtlety when it comes to crushes? Also, Wille’s much more expressive with his emotions than Simon is, so it makes sense that it’d seem like Wille’s much more into Simon.
Can I just say, I *hate* how they translated one of the messages to Simon (‘jag vet vart han bor! vi ses där!’). They translated it to ‘I know where he lives’, however, the actual message means ‘I know where he lives! See you there!’ - which is instantly much more threatening.
I think I speak for everyone who has watched the whole series when I say there's **no** apology needed for any angry/aggressive feelings about August. Remember Ben from Heartstopper? Compared to August, Ben's an upstanding pal.
Oh my God! how great it is that you paid attention to the music Matti Bye in the final summary❤❤❤ I agree 100%, this series has a really great soundtrack. Thanks for your reaction❤
currently rewatching your reactions to Young Royals cause you're awesome and honestly i miss the show! still waiting for you to react to the final season 🥰
Thanks Kristina! I'm so glad you don't judge anyone and really see all the characters' perspectives and dilemmas. Interesting and entertaining to watch season 1 with you. Looking forward to next season. 🙋♀️💜🎶🇸🇪
Amazing reaction to the first season!! While my heart does break for Wilhelm and Simon to be outed and having to take a break, I am proud that Simon is trying to support Wilhelm but is putting his happiness first. Wilhelm does love Simon, but he does need to figure out what he wants and to do it for his own benefit and no one else’s. Felice is definitely the MVP of this season for investing to solve the leak to help Sara, Simon, and Wilhelm; she’s really a true friend. While I didn’t care how Sara used blackmail to obtain her chance to remain at the school, I do understand why she did it. I’m also aware of her being neurodivergent, and I do believe regardless she does love her brother and was sympathetic to his predicament which is why I give her grace. August might be jealous and insecure with his own dilemmas, but he still had no right to out Wilhelm and Simon especially after Wilhelm helped with his financial situation. As for the Queen, I get that she’s trying to do what’s best for the monarchy while trying to grieve for Erik’s death. However she should have been a better mother for Wilhelm and put his happiness first as he is still young and should have the chance to still be a kid at least before he is of age to succeed. August and the Queen have my sympathy but not my forgiveness. 🧑🏻🦰🧑🏻🦱👑💔🇸🇪🏳️🌈🩷💜💙
I really have been enjoying your reactions to this series it’s so relatable to how I felt the first time I watched it. I can’t wait to see how you react to what is to come. As for Rosh and Ayub, I love them, I think they are great friends to Simon. A lot people don’t agree with some of the advice and stances they take but if you look at it from their perspective, as Simon’s friends, they always tell him what they think is best for him or they call him out when they see him doing things against his character and I think those are the best kind of friends you can have, “they are real ones” as the kids say. As for the show in general I personally like it better than Heartstopper or Euphoria because it feels much more grounded and real to me than those shows. The characters may find themselves in extreme situations because of the royalty factor but the characters and their behaviors feel very authentic. They do things that I would do or I people I know would do. Anyway, I look forward to watching your reaction to season 2
Sarah is neurodivergent so she doesn’t always make great decisions in social circumstances so I tend to give her some grace. August however I don’t. He definitely knows what he is doing and is trying to manipulate the situation.
Additionally, with her going behind Simon’s back, from her perspective he’s just betrayed her (breaking their promise and meeting up with Micke, lying to her about it, and indirectly causing Micke to show up at the one event where she actually felt included) and may be the reason she might be forced to go back to the school where she was so horrifically bullied that she was afraid to go to school *for the majority of a school year.* All of her actions make more sense when you think about them just being the impulsive actions of someone who’s afraid of being sent back to her old school (which is a *massive* change from Hillerska, where she has friends *for the first time,* and hating change is generally an autistic trait). (Sara has my whole heart and I feel like crying every time I think about how much she means to me as an autistic person).

That’s such a good point!! Super important to see both

@@RedBanana_ I agree with this comment wholeheartedly. Sara is so special to me as another autistic person.
