A bit of history regarding this song: It was originally an improv song by a couple of streamers while playing minecraft. Eventually they wrote a full song and lyrics and posted it on youtube (under Yogscast) It got so popular that Windrose being a dwaven themed metal band decided to cover it.
Wind Rose is an Italian metal band (billed as "Dwarf Metal") that has released 5 studio albums (as of June 2022) with a 6th set to release on October 4 this year. Most (if not all) of their songs are themed in this fashion... there are songs about events in the Lord of the Rings, events or places in Warhammer RPG, and so on - mostly from the viewpoint of the dwarves involved in the fictional events. Drunken Dwarves is another fun listen.
"Metalheads are sinister and worship Satan!" meanwhile at a Wind Rose show: hundreds, if not thousands, of metalheads doing the air-shovel to Diggy Diggy Hole! The song is actual a cover of a Minecraft meme song. Napalm Records commissioned a "Dance Remix" of this and even let them film a standalone video for it, there is a disclaimer at the beginning, why the remix exists in the first place (it was released in September of 2020, which might give a hint, considering what a "special time" that was). ruclips.net/video/wnBvEddq7nw/видео.html During live shows, they end on the regular version of the song and then segue into a playback of the remix, turning the venue (stage & auditorium) into a rave party. The German medieval metal band Feuerschwanz (foy-air-shvantz, translates to Fire Tail [with the intentional double meaning Fire Dick]) released (album 2020, single/video 2021) a song titled "Kampfzwerg" (Battle Dwarf/ Fight Dwarf) . The lyrics include hints to fictional works like Lord of the Rings and Disc World. ruclips.net/video/GuPf5T_u6-0/видео.html It's mostly a performance video with some acted scenes and some real live footage. In 2024, they translated some of their previous, German songs into English for the release of their 20th anniversary album, as a "thank you" for their non-German-speaking fans. One of those is Kampfzwerg, which turned into "Wardwarf" (in typical Feuerschwanz style, written in one word instead of "War Dwarf"). And who would be more fitting to do guest vocals on that version than Roberto Cavalieri, the lead singer of the og dwarf-metal band Wind Rose! 🤘 ruclips.net/video/BdZOw1rwQbk/видео.html Video made of live footage over the studio audio. And don't ask for Dragon-metal, you're digging yourself a rabbit hole... diggy diggy hole. 😂

Army of Stone, Fellows of the Hammer and Together We Rise are more like anthems vs this comedic niche song.
