I'd love to hear your thoughts on Brothers of Metal. They are a power metal band based on Norse mythology. They have 3 singers. My suggestion is the official video for Prophecy of Ragnarok (not the lyric video) or Njord.
Well, I'll tell ya! I just listened at your suggestion and checked out Yggdrasil and honestly, the song is pretty sick. Ylva Eriksson has a stellar voice and it had the mixture of silly fun but good musicianship that I enjoyed in Diggy Diggy hole. The video was......well the video was certainly something, ha. Some take it half seriously, using the fantasy there to make it all epic like Hammerfall does. Gloryhammer or Nanowar of Steel are more a parody of that, taking it to the extreme to make it silly.
I understand what you mean, but in the case of Wind Rose at least I disagree. At least since their new album Warfront they're partly very serious and quite profound (e.g. I Am The Mountain). Diggy Diggy Hole was just one silly song from them.
if anything, any fun band around this silly style, is definitely recommended: - Gloryhammer - Alestorm - Grailknights - Nekrogoblikon - Korpiklaani - Turisas
Diggy Diggy Hole is probably the single most nerdy song ever created, but Wind Rose makes it sound awesome. I think Wind Rose falls under Folk Metal based on their instrumental components. Elvenking and Eluveitie would probably be good for you to check out

Wind Rose is strong in the Folk Metal Genre. Really good bands, for me, are Equilibrium (e.g. Blut im Auge which is German) , Alestorm (Drink), Ensiferum (Two of Spades or Axe of Judgement).

Their newest album which dropped early 2020 (April 3rd i think) is full of what i at least think are great songs, a few songs i would recommend are Tongues and Drag me down which features the vocalist of polaris Jamie Hails. For some reason a lot of Danish music is blocked in Denmark right now, I'm not sure on the details but i think its some licensing issues but they should be available in almost every other country. this is Folk Metal my favourite sub genre, these guys are basically mega influenced by Turisas so check them out they're amazing. Battle Metal or To Holmgard And Beyond would be ideal
I know I’m a bit late, but I’d recommend Turisas, Alestorm, or Hulkoff. Hulkoff would be fascinating to your hear dissection of, as their latest album covers a wide range of “flavors” you could say. Perhaps the song “Hildisvin” Also, the look of mischief on your face when you snagged the hammer was PERFECT.
Listen to Sabaton! Swedish heavy metal band with elements of power metal. Basically anything by them - they’re AMAZING. Start with 82nd all the way or The Last Stand. They’re not silly like this (their songs are actually about military history, so every song is based on historical war events. Great history lesson!). The lead singer is a baritone, and I think you’d enjoy them.

Yes. Hahaha I feel like you probs have heard or if not someone has commented already but Eluviete is a SUPER sick folk metal band I have REALLY enjoyed listening to in the past. I recommend Brothers of Metal. They only have 2 albums so far but they are amazing.
You know what? I'm not even halfway through this video, and I'm subscribing. You're having fun, and I'm loving it. Who has a sledgehammer in their room!? That is an impressive chunk of (amethyst?). You're explanation of the anatomy and physiology are really fascinating. Then when I noticed the "Pathfinder" book, that was an instant sell. Keep rocking on brother!
Powerwolf is very similar and as someone pointed out Alestorm and Gloryhammer are just a fun time.
Ensiferum they are a folk metal band. I think wind rose is also folk metal. Don’t quote me on that, I am pretty ignorant in that topic.
And needless to say they are awesome. God is not great by them is awesome. Andromeda is also a kick ass song by them
Folk power metal if anything.
this is Folk Metal my favourite sub genre, these guys are basically mega influenced by Turisas so check them out they're amazing. Battle Metal or To Holmgard And Beyond would be ideal
I'll check them out!
Twilight Force - Night of Winterlight. I still can't get over how good the chorus melody is.
Hollow Prophet- Infernal Cleasning
It’s Ben Deurr from Shadow Of Intents other band that has a bit of a different vocal style. It’s a must!
10 points for the Pathfinder box in the back.
I know I’m a bit late, but I’d recommend Turisas, Alestorm, or Hulkoff. Hulkoff would be fascinating to your hear dissection of, as their latest album covers a wide range of “flavors” you could say. Perhaps the song “Hildisvin”
Also, the look of mischief on your face when you snagged the hammer was PERFECT.
The music style is called Norse Metal
Another band to check out is Release the Archers
Apocalypse Orchestra- Garden of Earthly Delights
This is a unique genre, dwarf metal, only found under the Misty Mountains of Middle Earth ....
Check out Twilight Force dude, you might dig it.
If you like this stuff, definitely check out the first album of Furor Gallico (the one with the blue cover), and in particular the song "La Caccia Morta"
+1 for your acting skills at 9:04 ! Hilarious XD
Glad you liked it! I had fun with this one! :D
Korpiklaani, Alestorm, Rumahoy, those are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head that sound similar.
Korpiklaani, Gloryhammer, Alestorm. Nekrogoblikon are another themed band but with more deathy vocals as well.
Turisas, Korpiklaani, Finntroll, and Ensiferum! Folk metal is awesome!
You had me at whats up you Space Wolves, thats my favorite army in WH40k like and subscribe
Overconfidence and L.E.D by Tallah! I'd love that
Please do Tallah - Overconfidence!
"I dug this song" lol.
Haha wow I also looking at the title and thumbnail here was apprehensive like ahhh, idk if this is one for me, then seconds into the song I'm like okay, this sounds cool, a few more seconds, .. okay, okay, this is pretty epic.. that flute hits and I'm ohhhkay this is fuckin sick I dig this. Yes. Hahaha
I feel like you probs have heard or if not someone has commented already but Eluviete is a SUPER sick folk metal band I have REALLY enjoyed listening to in the past. They have had a ton of members too of people actually playing all sorts of different instruments, flute, violin, hurdy gurdy, its sick. A great time.
If anyone knows more bands like Eluviete I'd love to hear as well.
I love this shit

- this is the main album I know. Its great.
A song I recommend is "alive or undead" by powerwolf, the animated lyrics video is so brilliantly done
A whole genre of this? Like Memey power metal?
You're looking for Nanowar of Steel. Such titles include "Barbie MILF Princess of the Twilight" "And Then I Noticed That She Was a Gargoyle" "Vegan Velociraptor" and "Tooth Fairy"
ngl, if a bunch of dwarves came together and made a fantasy metal band and called it "Iron Pride", I'd be 100% down for a mosh pit in plate armor.
you really should react to gloryhammer - hootsforce. it's awesome.
Not quite the same but I feel fits: Russkaja
The song Energia is a banger
Ngl that’s a pretty legit joker impression
Equilibrium are a great band. Especially their first two albums Tyr and Sagas. Their sound on those albums were a perfect blend of black metal, power metal, folk metal, and speed metal.
