I use to fish exclusively for bass in freshwater as a kid, then on our first trip to Saint Clair at around 13/14 I had a 17" smallmouth damn near in the net when a 40"+ t-boned it and ran off with my catch. I still love smallies, but nothing beats those toothy critters crushing a lure boatside.
Zac Sells nothing beats it ! Boatside strikes and figure 8s is what did me in back in the day!

Have you ever had a musky hit a fish you were reeling in? A guy had a musky eat his trout in a small local creek here a day or two ago, and he managed to land it! It was a 45, which is unheard of in that little creek. Unfortunately he kept it.😔
Yes that does happen . Musky are opportunistic and a struggling fish on your line looks like an easy meal for them .
