- Today we dive head-first into the rabbit hole of the intriguing Shadow Freddy cameo in the Five Nights at Freddy's movie - why is he here, what is he and could he have more importance in the sequel? If Max does end up becoming Shadow Freddy and stays relevant for a potential trilogy, it would be very cool if by the end of the third movie either Mike or Abby help set her soul free by giving her a ring.

I knew nothing of Shadow Freddy till I saw the glitch in the post game footage and now I am pulling for Shadow Freddy in FNAF 2.
Hopefully Shadow Freddy finally gets his chance to shine in the spotlight. He's been a nobody pretty much since FNaF 4 and is constantly overshadowed by the cool Shadow Bonnie ever since. I really want him to play a major and rather menacing role befitting of his existence as a Shadow Entity.

I have a fun little Sparky's headcanon for you all (NOT a theory).
Sparky's diner, seeing the success of the new pizzeria and having a different enough demographic they ask if they can partner and have an animatronic mascot of their own, then also serving as extra advertising for Freddy's.
They make Sparky the dog and he has an uneventful time while in service.
But as soon as Freddy's gets a bad reputation they return Sparky to storage at Freddy's so they don't get associated with the bad press.
This explains why we aren't familiar with him in the games because Sparky's diner doesn't exist.
In my head canon sparky was a planned 5th animatronic they had the suit and everything but then Freddy’s shut down and those plans never came to fruition.
One thing to note about Max is that early on in the movie she says "I wish someone would buy me a ring" while watching TV. While that line is probably there to show that she's greedy, since she is wearing multiple rings as she says that, it is possible that it's meant to suggest that she's into Mike romantically.

I think that was just the movie being self aware that Mike is attractive. Not just because he’s played by Josh, but because he’s canonically super hot in the games as well. In Sister Location’s custom night cutscenes we see Michael taking a walk down the street and there are several people outside just to wave hi at him.
As for Mike and Max in the movie, whether or not Max did or didn’t have feelings for him it may never be a thing since she’s now… y’know…

And yeah I think going forward Vanessa is gonna end up as Mike love interest instead at some point, which I honestly don’t mind.
Might I add that Max had more character development in deleated scenes. I doubt they would have planned on doing more with her if she was just gonna die
Great video. Really interesting ideas you touched on that I haven't heard from anyone else. I thought it was weird that Max, who I thought of nothing more than a twist antagonist, was allowed to possess Shadow Freddy, but... Now I see. Perhaps, she will redeem herself in this form? I do fancy the idea of her being the kids' "babysitter" or sorts, or at least some sort of bringer of justice/protection. If we get a fnaf movie in the fnaf 2 location, I would like to see Candy the cat since we got to see Sparky in 1 😁
But even tho candy the cat existed in the same continuity as fnaf games but that’s a fan game
Plus Emil the fan game creator won’t let them recreate candy the cat unless if the fnaf 2 movie make nod to candy burger and fries

Yeah the reason I didn’t want to believe that it was shadow Freddy is because it is seen as a physical object when in the games he’s always a teleporting hallucination but in the scene where it shows max stuffed she’s stuffed in shadow Freddy’s suit somehow.
Why would Fazbear Entertainment/Afton/Henry every made a purple bear with eyes without pupils?

@@timothyabbott8537 hmmm because in the games books and comics afton always likes rabbits specifically yellow rabbits and it’d feel weird for him want to make a purple bear instead.
What if this purple bear (can’t really call him shadow Freddy anymore) was meant for Fazbear’s frights?
That’d explain the blank white eyes but the problem is is that in the games Fazbear’s frights gets built after all of the murders of Freddy’s to make the Fazbear name a little less scary
And out problem here is how would Fazbear Entertainment know to make a horror attraction before the murders begin?
What would solve this is that if Afton planned everything
He would kill the children and stuff them or what ever he needs to do but before that he will design horror attraction animatronics because he knows Fazbear’s name will suffer when the news that 5 or so children went missing in the pizzeria so he makes a design for a horror attraction to clear Fazbear’s name of any wrongdoing
And as we can clearly see by the time of the FNaF movie which is in the year 2000 the purple bear is still there meaning Afton never got the horror attraction finished.
And I bet next movie they’ll show us Afton’s workers grabbing the purple bear sparky and springtrap because they would think springtrap was one of the horror animatronics Afton made with the blood leaking from the holes of the rotten rabbit and they would finish the build which would in turn wake up Afton.
If it is a suit I guess it's supposed to be a prototype
What if something similar happens in the sequel with Shadow Bonnie, and then in the final movie we see both characters help set the children free.

Given we see Max inside the Purple Freddy aka Shadow Freddy, I imagine that we will see Max return in the second movie as Shadow Freddy. Either as a protagonist or antagonist? The shadows in FNAF aren’t really hostile, even shadow Freddy isn’t. In the FNAF 3 mini games when he leads the 4 robots to the safe room, he’s intending to help them, but that’s just me.
The big question is, will we see Shadow Bonnie, and would his identity be? 🤔 We’d have to wait and see. 🤷🤔
Edit: I didn’t even realize that the kid that lured max said follow me, which is what Shadow Freddy said in FNAF 3. I love connections. 😱😀👍

I don't know about everyone else but every time a new theory comes out about the FNAF movie it just makes me love the movie more than I originally did.
I swar I thought you were going to say she was going to be the movie's version/stand in of Old Man Consequences
I was like "How would they explain that in the movies?!" and then you would explain that "she felt guilty for helping Aunt Jane with her plan so somehow in the sequel or sequels Max would help the MCI victims let go of their anger/agony and have their spirits move on with their Happiest Day" almost like a trial and error kind of thing
That clip of Shadow Freddy in the camera should’ve been kept in the film instead of having Shadow Freddy as a physical suit in the background Shadow Freddy could’ve had a big role in representing the agony of the dead children such a missed opportunity.
Because it was next to sparky, i always thought it was another famous hoax: the purple guy animatronic. Really cool that its shadow freddy though!

Here's a theory.
William and his wife are confirmed to have been divorced and that William cheated his way of custody of Elizabeth (Michael Afton's sister) so it's likely that Mike's father we see is actually his step father and William got custody of his daughter. It lines up with Mike and Vanessa being about the same age, William’s reaction to knowing Mike's full name and him knowing about Mike's brother.
I’m pretty sure the Shadow thing as because the PG 13 rating and because showing that would be extremely difficult
TUG page that says the Shadows help is ripped from TFF. It’s unreliable and completely contradicted by everything that Shadows do in Frights and FNaF 4.
Them being good is mere headcanon.
But what if, hank is shadow bonnie?
In the movie, hank was killed by bonnie, and it was a SHADOW we saw when he died. As well as a shadow of bonnie.
But thats just a theroy, a game theroy that i thought of-
He was stuffed in Sparky. Carl's actor talked about Carl posessing Shreddy Fazchair. It would make sense for Jeff to posess Shadow Bonnie.

I'm surprised it was a shadow freddy because shadow freddy was a soul of a employee that died in the springlock suid (fredbear and yes fredbear and golden freddy are the same things)
I thought I was the only one but why didn't you mention mexs? or shadow Bonnie in general personally I think the agony harvester means afton was trying to summon or get the attention of shadow Bonnie I this shadow Bonnie works the same in the movie my only question is why was he summoning shadow bonnie i honestly think shadow freddy is just the spirit of a adult able to grasp that they are dead unlike the kids who are stuck there an adult might instantly realize they were dead and decide to get revange I feel like this power makes you extremely powerful as a spirit considering golden Freddy is the only other being we see exhibit this quality and she is basically the strongest Spirit powers being able to teleport and create pocket dimensions to torture william Shadow Freddy could be absolutely broken he is one of the only characters that crashes your game
My favourite thing about the movie is how literally no one wants to even TRY to tackle what the hell was up with the blonde boy
one thing about max a lot of people don't bring up is that she, like abby, can see ghosts. This sequence isn't in a dream where mike can see them, this is the physical world like where abby can. And I think the manifestation argument is a bit bogus given that if that were true, there wouldn't have even been a need for mike to dream, nor to have golden freddy appear and harm aunt cass.
one other strange thing, in dawko and other youtubeurs videos where they're visiting the set of fnaf all the animatronics are visible but the only one they are note allowed to show is shadow freddy, for exemple dawko is puting pixel's on the suit, why this one insted of an other ? for me they ask them to censored it beaucause it was going to be important.

Wait I have a theory! All the baddy’s come to life as animatronics and they go after Jane and kill her for “revenge”. And max tells Mike about this and gets pissed. And wish she never was an animatronic.
In the games I always believed that Shadow Freddy was in fact the crying child from FNAF 4 as in the pixel game of FNAF we see that he is Shadow Freddy and it would make more sense that he is as he died at the hands of Fredbear. Here’s another interesting theory on Shadow Bonnie, in the first game we play as Mike Schmidt and then in Sister location we play as him again but what if it wasn’t actually him. What if there are two Mikes, when Micheal Afton talks to his father at the end of custom night he calls himself Micheal. It would also make sense for him to be Shadow Bonnie as the Funtime animatronics mistake him for William and he could’ve died later as Sister location could possibly have taken place at an earlier date before FNAF 2. So it would make sense for him in the pixel game to find the crying child and apologise. So who do we play as in FNAF 6? We could be playing as Mike or most likely Henry.

I'd assume it's because it's because it's the public name for him, since I don't think most kids would understand what a Springlock suit is and would be confused as to why he's called "Spring" Bonnie, lol. Though then they could just call him yellow Bonnie or golden Bonnie, but I'm assuming they're using the term most kids would use to describe the suit, rather than what the suit actually is, if that makes sense.

I've seen this image all over the internet - I think it's fine for you to believe it's the Puppet, but it's definitely not confirmed to be that. We haven't seen any behind the scenes shots of a Puppet animatronic and judging by the set, it seems to be a light reflection from the objects behind. I'd say that it's unlikely BUT that doesn't change my prediction that he will be a major character in the next movie!

If she does return as Shadow Freddy, I imagine that she’d be against the children at first. Angry at what they did to her, her brother, and her friends, and leads them to their second deaths as revenge.
But then, somewhere along the way, realizes that they’re suffering souls who have been manipulated. She then decides to help them reach their happiest day, along with Shadow Bon, should he appear.
Heck, imagine if Jeff became Shadow Bon. Very unlikely and probably won’t happen, but it’s a fun thought.
