CoD WW2 is not that bad though. Sure it is some flaws, but they actually tried making a good campaign, and so far the supply drop system is only cosmetic and can be gained easily. The only bad thing right now i can think of is the map packs, which is a bit old school. I'm sure they will stop using it next year.

I haven't purchased it, no. I based my previous post on reviews but obviously I got it wrong and I'll fix it. I still think making loot boxes an actual social feature is pretty gross but you are correct, it seems its only cosmetics for now.
I'm a Star Wars fan. I'm a middle aged man with a full time job and some disposable income. Almost all of my entertainment money is spent on gaming, and I've been an avid gamer my whole life. Let me tell you I wouldn't buy this if they paid me to play it. Mack is absolutely right, this is the moment. This is where they will decide if they can sell us everything from XP to items to levels and everything else. This is where we decide the fate of modern day gaming and how they monetize it, right here with EA right now. Please don't fall for this. Don't let this happen. Every publisher is watching this and deciding if they can do it too. Be a good person and don't let them do this to the industry. We can still save it, but we have to hold the line right here right now and show them all that this is too far, and we're not buying it.

Think about it. So many Artists, Modellers, Coders, putting their heart and soul for a full year into this game. They have a fixed salary, they couldn't care less about microtransactions. All they want, is to make an amazing game. Then the reality kicks in and the shareholders, who probably don't even like games anyway, want their money, so they just hijack the game and completely ruin it. It's very, very sad.

Trevor Ryan Because they're a business. I'm a shareholder in some of these companies so I'm part of this "corporate greed" and I've no compunction making money off gamers who are willing to pay. If not enough gamers are willing enough to spend the money for it to be profitable, the business model fails, and management will not pursue it. But reality is that so many gamers are willing to pay so much. The profit exists, and it doesn't matter who the shareholders are. The fewer of the shareholders there are, the larger share of the profit they get. I've joined in and made a significant amount of money by doing nothing, and just let those gamers fill my pockets willingly.

Yea I know, I'm buying it because DICE did a freaking amazing job but I just wanted to hear from someone else if they experienced something in the game that would be off putting or game breaking. i don't mind the microstranscitions that much but I just wanted to know more details about the game. The graphics are amazing and I had a blast playing the beta and I can't wait until friday to hop on and destroy some clanckers.
BF2 is where the franchise turned to shit! Before that, (bf1942, bfv) there was no leveling up. There was no stat tracking. Just good team based play. Nobody gave a shit who finished on top of the leader board, all that mattered was which team won the round. Leveling up has no place in multiplayer games. It belongs in single player games only! All it does is make it impossible for new players to compete. They already have the disadvantage of being new ffs!
Summary: As a huge Star Wars fan and a huge gamer it's a sad day when I see a Star Wars game that looks as amazing as this game does be hijacked by greedy suits. I am totally gutted that I still don't have a modern Star Wars game that is amazing to play. On the plus side I am proud that so many thousands of gamers have taken a stand against this bullshit, you can see EA in total panic, they are like a headless chicken at the moment. People power works and we need to enforce this, we pay their wages and we should demand better than this game delivers. Sure there will be sell outs and apologists defending this game but hopefully they will be the minority, if not then gaming is doomed. It's not just the greedy business practice that is wrong with this game, it's the game itself, sure it's better and bigger than the 2015 SWBF but that's hardly an achievement. This game lacks any soul, the story is terrible and the combat is obscenely easy all the way to the 5 hour anticlimactic ending. Multiplayer is just a huge pew pew fest on most maps with only 2 or 3 allowing for any form of group tactics. Yes it's fun at times on those maps but it's not enough to justify the price. Space multiplayer is a good laugh, nice slick controls and amazing sounds but again it's just not enough. I paid £65 to review this early, I got a pay wall of micro transactions as a reward, I still have not unlocked most of the hero classes but I did get 4 weapons that do twice as much damage as the weapons everyone will be getting on Friday, it's p2w garbage.

The game is decent enough now, but it is 2 years too late. It is a good thing that some countries are starting to get alerted and are pushing laws against loot crates in video games which are a form of legal gambling. Finally we are seeing the gaming movement have some victories against the greedy corpos, but the damage is already done and they have been doing shady business practices for years. I have stopped supporting gaming corporations a long time ago, but a lot of these young people don;t know what good gaming was like in the 2000 - 2010 decade so all they have as a comparison is shitty AAA games from their era. Corporations are ruining things in all forms of entertainment and people who buy their shit are supporting them.

Well, I ended up picking up the game because a close friend has it and wanted someone to play multi-player with that he knows. So, I played the multi-player with him and regretted it after not too long. The MATCHMAKING is total SHIT! They put new players in with people who are level 40+!! You can't even make a dent in them! You're just their target practice! HOW is that supposed to be fun?? After research, I found that horrible match-making and unbalanced teams are the norm now! WTF?!

Hey Mack, not sure if you know this but after they reduced the price of Luke Skywalker and the like they also reduced the rewards you get for campaign missions and such so it will still take about the same amount of time to grind the characters out.
Garth Flame this is false. Yes they lowered the amount for the campaign but it was lowered in conjunction for it's purpose. It's purpose was so you could purchase the hero you use in the single player. When the amounts were lowered they also lowered the reward so you could still have enough to buy exactly the hero from the campaign. Do some research. Yes this business practice sucks, yes I don't agree with it, but I also would like to hear and research facts.
I work 12 hours days and don't have that much time to play, in two days I've unlocked 2 heroes. Although the system could use an overhaul, I don't think any players have an advantage over my level 0 character. I've had a blast playing but the matchmaking mechanics in place have kept me with similarly skilled and/or equipped characters the whole time.
Man I really hope you get more bells. The two bells right now sound like freaking royalty at Buckingham Palace. Coupled with the satire it's one of the most glorious moments of these reviews.

I've been a fan of Star Wars for a longer length of time than any other franchise (even beating out Nintendo, Sega, and Disney), and I am NOT buying this game in its current state. I bought the last one, and I was let down. This one appears to have took one step forward and several steps backwards. I'm taking it farther than that though. I'm not buying any more EA games unless they start respecting their player base. Dont forget that the arcade mode has a limit on credits that you can earn and you will get a 3 HOUR cooldown on earning credits. Also the singleplayer credit reward was decreased by the same percentage as the price of the heroes
I had to unsubscribe from a couple of otherwise entertaining 'tubers that went at length to gloss over the pay-to-win factor while claiming that the game was very good overall. Completely incidentally they were both at the related EA event. I don't mean to say that any youtuber or streamer have to do more than entertain, but when the quality of the industry is at stake there needs to some clear lines drawn.

Mario kart is repetitive as hell, i sold it long ago. Mario odyssey is vastly overated, nowhere near as good as galaxy or sunshine, its still one of the better mario games though. Botw on the otherhand makes the switch worth it.

Also, earning credits has a cooldown. So you're having lots of fun with the prospect of getting those credits to progress, right? You win the game only for you to discover that you haven't earned anything because you have to wait maybe 24 hours IIRC? before you can earn.

This review is for yesterday's game. Today the game has improved and it's alot of fun. Free DLC in the future... you open a couple crates you get with in-game money and you've got the perks to stay ahead. noone talked down the gameplay in the beta, everyone loved it...

The newest Battlefront, Battlefield and COD completely lack enough content to justify the price tag. 8, 9 and 11 multiplayer maps respectively at launch is nowhere near enough considering the technology and budgets available to these organisations. These companies just make the game look nice then blow the rest of their budget on marketing to brainwash kids into buying their half finished pieces of shit games. Remember the proper 2005 SWBF2? I heard even after they slashed price for unlocking skywalker, they also reduced amount you earn per game/round. Also heard about arcade mode has a cooldown (3 hours) so that you will not earn as fast as you want

I'm a shareholder in some of these companies so I'm part of this "corporate greed" and I've no compunction making money off gamers who are willing to pay. If not enough gamers are willing enough to spend the money for it to be profitable, the business model fails, and management will not pursue it.
But reality is that so many gamers are willing to pay so much. The profit exists, and it doesn't matter who the shareholders are. The fewer of the shareholders there are, the larger share of the profit they get. I've joined in and made a significant amount of money by doing nothing, and just let those gamers fill my pockets willingly.

Problems with EA not DICE
Yea I know, I'm buying it because DICE did a freaking amazing job but I just wanted to hear from someone else if they experienced something in the game that would be off putting or game breaking. i don't mind the microstranscitions that much but I just wanted to know more details about the game. The graphics are amazing and I had a blast playing the beta and I can't wait until friday to hop on and destroy some clanckers.

Just good team based play. Nobody gave a shit who finished on top of the leader board, all that mattered was which team won the round.

As a huge Star Wars fan and a huge gamer it's a sad day when I see a Star Wars game that looks as amazing as this game does be hijacked by greedy suits. I am totally gutted that I still don't have a modern Star Wars game that is amazing to play.
On the plus side I am proud that so many thousands of gamers have taken a stand against this bullshit, you can see EA in total panic, they are like a headless chicken at the moment. People power works and we need to enforce this, we pay their wages and we should demand better than this game delivers. Sure there will be sell outs and apologists defending this game but hopefully they will be the minority, if not then gaming is doomed.
It's not just the greedy business practice that is wrong with this game, it's the game itself, sure it's better and bigger than the 2015 SWBF but that's hardly an achievement. This game lacks any soul, the story is terrible and the combat is obscenely easy all the way to the 5 hour anticlimactic ending. Multiplayer is just a huge pew pew fest on most maps with only 2 or 3 allowing for any form of group tactics. Yes it's fun at times on those maps but it's not enough to justify the price. Space multiplayer is a good laugh, nice slick controls and amazing sounds but again it's just not enough.
I paid £65 to review this early, I got a pay wall of micro transactions as a reward, I still have not unlocked most of the hero classes but I did get 4 weapons that do twice as much damage as the weapons everyone will be getting on Friday, it's p2w garbage.

No they are in full panic, this game is getting bad press on BBC and other MSM outlets, this means shareholders now know it has major issues, that is why EA have made U turns this week on certain aspects of the progression system. It's also why they hosted a AMA on reddit last night

The game is decent enough now, but it is 2 years too late. It is a good thing that some countries are starting to get alerted and are pushing laws against loot crates in video games which are a form of legal gambling. Finally we are seeing the gaming movement have some victories against the greedy corpos, but the damage is already done and they have been doing shady business practices for years. I have stopped supporting gaming corporations a long time ago, but a lot of these young people don;t know what good gaming was like in the 2000 - 2010 decade so all they have as a comparison is shitty AAA games from their era.

Well, I ended up picking up the game because a close friend has it and wanted someone to play multi-player with that he knows. So, I played the multi-player with him and regretted it after not too long. The MATCHMAKING is total SHIT! They put new players in with people who are level 40+!! You can't even make a dent in them! You're just their target practice! HOW is that supposed to be fun?? After research, I found that horrible match-making and unbalanced teams are the norm now! WTF?!

Hey Mack, not sure if you know this but after they reduced the price of Luke Skywalker and the like they also reduced the rewards you get for campaign missions and such so it will still take about the same amount of time to grind the characters out.
Garth Flame this is false. Yes they lowered the amount for the campaign but it was lowered in conjunction for it's purpose. It's purpose was so you could purchase the hero you use in the single player. When the amounts were lowered they also lowered the reward so you could still have enough to buy exactly the hero from the campaign. Do some research. Yes this business practice sucks, yes I don't agree with it, but I also would like to hear and research facts.

I work 12 hours days and don't have that much time to play, in two days I've unlocked 2 heroes. Although the system could use an overhaul, I don't think any players have an advantage over my level 0 character. I've had a blast playing but the matchmaking mechanics in place have kept me with similarly skilled and/or equipped characters the whole time.

I've been a fan of Star Wars for a longer length of time than any other franchise (even beating out Nintendo, Sega, and Disney), and I am NOT buying this game in its current state. Dont forget that the arcade mode has a limit on credits that you can earn and you will get a 3 HOUR cooldown on earning credits. Also the singleplayer credit reward was decreased by the same percentage as the price of the heroes
I had to unsubscribe from a couple of otherwise entertaining 'tubers that went at length to gloss over the pay-to-win factor while claiming that the game was very good overall. Completely incidentally they were both at the related EA event. I don't mean to say that any youtuber or streamer have to do more than entertain, but when the quality of the industry is at stake there needs to some clear lines drawn.

Mario kart is repetitive as hell, i sold it long ago. Mario odyssey is vastly overated, nowhere near as good as galaxy or sunshine, its still one of the better mario games though. Botw on the otherhand makes the switch worth it.

The only thing big gaming companies want is your money. We need to start boycotting these games. The newest Battlefront, Battlefield and COD completely lack enough content to justify the price tag. 8, 9 and 11 multiplayer maps respectively at launch is nowhere near enough considering the technology and budgets available to these organisations. These companies just make the game look nice then blow the rest of their budget on marketing to brainwash kids into buying their half finished pieces of shit games. Remember the proper 2005 SWBF2? Included every map, gamemode, hero, both era's all in the base game. Along with a campaign that actually lasts more than half an hour. State of the gaming industry right now is a joke.

This video scares me, it definitely is a watershed moment. I have cancelled my pre-order, i know there are others who are thinking about it. As WAB says, if the numbers are positive for EA, this is all we can expect from publishers/developers.
These people don't care about gaming, its numbers and profit. Dice are unfortunately (whether they agree or not) under EA and have to bend over and take it. As a life long video gamer, this has to stop. Thank you WAB for scaring me, I hope others get the message.
p.s Thank gawd Nintendo are slow on the uptake and produce great games with (only now) DLC haha. They love their games and consumers. I am bias but there is a reason Zelda BOTW and Super Mario Odyssey are in line for GOTY.

I've never pirated a game but that's about to change. I used to buy games that had MT'S, shitty pre order bonuses etc when they were heavily discounted but not any more. From now on they get NOTHING.
