I never hated a mechanic more than when micro transactions give you a crate and you have to buy a key to open it
osorioavatargaming it was for a charity event
osorioavatargaming payday 2 did the same thing and that's where I drew the line. 1000 expansion packs was acceptable but when they give me a safe that I have to pay to drill... Unacceptable
GudJuJu Just like ARK's DLC for the lawsuit on an early access game that would've made that money back in months? Ridiculous.
Gudjuju stop being an apologist, you are embarrassing.
Worth A Buy I think that's a bit excessive to say, but ok. I support things I believe in and you ever so lightly treaded over topics not touching on any of the details.
You've had my respect for ages, but now you're a legend! You've told nothing but the truth and it's about damn time a content creator with clout has stood against this developers unprofessional behavior. The game is damn fun, but for God's sake there's one map, terribly clunky mechanics and bugs galore. It's received far more hype than it deserved. If any other game released in this state, early access or not, it would have been trashed from day one.
Summary:
The game is great fun, I fully intent to play it more but it's very barren for a £26.99 price tag when you consider what content you can get for that price from other developers.
The thing that got me are the developers, their total contempt for the paying customer is what people should be looking at here, they are outright liars by promising to never do micro transactions in EA then blatantly do it. Then they just ban paying customers on the word of a streamer without so much as a SHRED of evidence against them!
It's hardly surprising that this is happening, just look at the creation club at Bethesda and how even now they still deny it's paid mods. Then we have Warner Bros and their dodgy Forthog DLC for Shadow of war where only a percentage goes to charity, some say it's like cashing in on someones soul.
The industry is getting more vile and greedy every day and nothing seems out of bounds for a quick sale, even someone dying. Shame on the gamers that stick up and protect these types of developer/publisher, take the red pill and have your eyes opened to what is going on under your nose.
Sadly I fully expect the same sugar fuelled apologists defending dodgy devs in the comments of this video, nothing seems to change, I just wish they would take the "Red pill" and open their eyes to what is really happening in the gaming industry.
lmao ... if only ....
good thing I'm selling my PC. gonna need a break from gaming "industry"
Andy Clifft lol
Your gonna get banned for that thumbs down.
Worth A Buy wait this is a revisit review right? I remember you saying you hate how you could switch between third and first person in another video but this was a good review
Mack your gonna get shit for giving it a thumbs down but good on you for sticking up for everyone else
Not as much because even steam reviews bash the game for the same reasons, rightfully so. I think most people can agree with Mack here (aside from the pussy streamers)
But the devs didn't even provide evidence to prove the guy stream sniped.
If it is a lie then they banned him for no reason? how does that help your point
Benzo v3 Same...
How is he sticking up for anyone. He just reviewed a game. Jesus do some people even think before they comment
Am I the only one that finds it so fucking funny his name is "console gamer"
Hadn't seen that, ha, good catch :)
No you are not. When I saw it I was laughing. :D
I literally cried... :D
I laughed so hard when i saw it :D
Thank god someone honest about this game. Always thought it was overhyped af.
Daniel No, they just reinvest huge amounts of money to have this game featured. Just like in physical shops, virtual shops such as Steam has different prices for different product display locations
Daniel it is genuinely being played and bought as much as steam says it is. But yeah, everything that mack said is wrong with it is true. I still think it's worth a buy, I got maybe 60 hours out of it so it was good value. I'll still play from time to time but the big fuck you from the devs is bullshit. Free crates im OK with but getting better gear from paid crates in early access is pushing it. To say its cosmetic is bullshit. All the free stuff gets you seen faster and shot faster. Classic bait and switch that is becoming all too familiar with early access. Guess we'll need to start answering with our wallets?
It's not in the slightest. 800 hours in!
Played a couple matches killed a bunch of people and got bored, honestly its overrated.
you are an idiot, it is the opposite. The good cosmetics get you seen, eg: yellow tracksuit, skirt etc...
"there's a fuckin CAWK N BALLS in there" lmfao best Mack quote ever
I absolutely love this game, but Mack hits a lot of true points in this video.
I don't mind using ingame earned currency to buy cosmetics (I've made over $65 selling them), but the streamer rant was spot on. There's still a looot of work to be done with this game and I get why some people won't be buying it.
wow a good comment by a person suppporting this game ? nice
rediculous monetization of apparel in a game. I don't like this trend that games become a money making platform. Are we gamers or are we there to make money? F'n hell man
to u sir, I do take my hat! a reasonable fan! fuck u r one of the last survivers of a dying specie :)
How many hours do you have in game ? Anyway, do you think it's worth buying ? For a 5 men squad for example
+Cenot4ph
I don't really get why some people are paying the prices they do for a single piece of clothing, but it's free money for me lol Got a few games thanks to it.
+Creeperbowling
Almost 300 hours. Max squad size is 4 people. I play with my friends nearly every night and we still have a lot of fun with it- your results may vary.
Little known fact. Every Asset in the game is directly from the unity store.
angry PUBG fanboys incoming!!
Why would they be angry? Because he said PUBG is a good game?
I have arrived, sorry for being 2 months late.
I thought fan boys of this game was a myth
Such a true comment about the streamers, they have so much influence over some of these spineless developers and it ruins the game sometimes. It's extremely difficult to tell whether someone is a stream sniper, but hey, the big mighty streamer said the player was in fact cheating so it must be true! Most of these streamers rarely read their chat so why can't they just put a delay on their stream?
Developers need to stop babysitting snowflake streamers and focus on their entire fanbase.
Sir Taco Master Highlights duh
Dank Gamer this doesn't even happen, when do streamers complain like that? Lol it rarely happens & while they should stop banning people it doesn't happen enough for it to be a topic.
Why would the developers stop doing that when it works better? If you want to get this problem solved, aim your anger at the streamers for whining. Can't blame the devs for doing what works best.
+GudJuJu While I get your point, it still happens and it needs to be dealt with, it will only get worse
Same thing happened with that sociopath streamer Rhinocrunch on Rust where the developers gave him universal admin powers and he proceeded to ban loads of players who had the audacity to kill him for stream sniping. They eventually removed his admin powers and he tried to start a whole whiney backlash against the game.
Now he's hyping Battlegrounds so don't dare kill him if you come across the toxic twat-magnet!
How I play battlegrounds:
1. Start game with 3 others random players
2. 3 others instantly die
3. Walk around like an idiot and find weapons
4. Search for a vehicle but there is none
5. Walk ENDLESSLY to other towns to search for a vehicle
6. Finally find a vehicle and get into the white circle
7. Game becomes boring as fuck while I wait in the white area
8. Drive around aimlessly to make something happen
9. See an enemy in the distant
10. Sneak on to the enemy, shoot him two times - he insta kills me
11. Quit game and whonder for another time why it's #1 most played on steam
h1z1 in a nut shell spend 20mins driving across a map, shoot some guy 3 times in the face, get 1 tapped through lammy to the chest..
Holy shit u just explained my whole exp in this game.
Maybe because you're just shit
Dyna-Mitey ru just trolling or r u serious
Dyna-Mitey after playing for 300 hrs I wanna edit what I said. The reason why it was boring asf was because like you said. I sucked at the Time xD love the game now.
The name of this game really bothers me, why the fuck does it have "player unknown's" in the name? Just call it Battlegrounds...
Gothic Wigga because blue hole, a shitty korean mmorpg developer, needed him as a consultant to develop the game and then they needed his name for hype and credibility. It's his concept anyway (borrowed from film) so part of it is probably vanity, too.
Never heard of the kid, kinda makes it sound even worse and more cringeworthy to me
I 100% absolutely agree with this video.
I enjoy the game. I get that there is an element of luck, but there are ways to mitigate (knowing where equipment/vehicles routinely spawn). Circle awareness and strategy also adds to the experience rather than detracting. BUT, I always enjoy Mack's honesty. In regards to bugs, pussy streamers, and dev attitude...he's on point.
Lmao, truly enjoy hearing your hilarious opinion on games. Seriously great video!
well, i wont be buying this game. shitty developers dont deserve my money.
S77LOM this game is horribly optimized. medium spec PCs would crash constantly and get 20fps. people with gtx 1070 would also have problems in loading buildings
Finally Mack can say everything about this game for all those of us with tiny voices. This game is not worth supporting and gets worse as its ego grows. Soon will be abandoned by most of the player base.
Zachary B I highly doubt it. Its taken over DOTA 2 in terms of concurrent players playing it online. And it's a payable early access game. The numbers continue to grow, as do the patches and fixes. The hype was over months ago. Now it's people coming in who either have lots of friends playing it, or, have seen a lot of footage online and decided to pick it up. It is now a snow ball.
This game will follow the same development route that all the other early access cancer games like H1ZI,ARK, and etc go though. This game like all others before it were created as an early access cash grab (just look at the early loot boxes) BUT this time the game actually got extremely popular so it may stay around longer. Just long enough to piss off all of the players and milk them for everything they have. When it does come out of early access (if ever) by then it will have lost most of it's players and still be only half finished.
All of those games had 10-50k players on steam, this game has 500k and has peaked at 910k this month, more then any other game on steam
nope
Great WAB
Any PUBG RUclipsr/streamer that hasn't called out this developers bullshit isn't worth your time of day. It really is that easy.
"I've killed people before just running in and fisting them." Damn, need to try this game.
Very honest and accurate review! I like the game, I play a few times a week, but like you accurately stated It's a luck based one trick pony. I've has maybe 3 memorable moments playing it since release
luck might be a big part of this game, but you cant say its directly luck based. If you are good at the game, you can do better than most people anyway. Just to clarify, Im not a fan boy, I dont even own the game.
Not a lot you can do with a shotgun against an M16 at 100yds no matter how much skill you have :)
if this game is like h1z1 in any way, you dont need to start out with a great gun to win. Good review overall, agree with you on the streamer shit.
Because the game forces you to move about to stay in the forcefield?
So you loot an entire city and only get a shotgun? Sounds like you chose a shitty place to land
This game proves that us pc players are going to slowly start devolving to console peasants not able to tell a good game from a nice warm steaming bag of shit.
#1 on steam my ass.
Definitely not an amazing game by design, but playing it with friends is what makes the game really fun.
Woody It can be fun but buying this game and supporting the people behind it is really bad
You're talking about the herd mentality with everyone agreeing with mac without doing your own research? Blindly agreeing with everything...yea you nailed that "herd mentality".
TheHynez Most of us already have done research, and if not he shows both sides in the video, good and bad.
+Symbolic That is true in many cases, however you cannot deny that video games are just another type of entertainment being pumped out regularly for the consumers. And sometimes, the manufacturers, companies, developers and what not, do manage to bring in some very good product. In case of PUBG, it is something that may not be the most stable thing nor polished (hence why it's an Early access) but something that represents a very good idea that has been done many times before but this time it does show probably the best iteration we've seen so far.
I don't play PUBG, nor do I really follow it that much but the developers seem gunuinely interested in making the game shine among the other titles within its genre. I believe that this one, given with certain time and effort.. could make it out as a great battle royale game. When it comes to trending themes and products, that usually wears off once the time moves on and some other companies introduce something new a more appealing.
With PUBG I feel like it's a legit fun game, the numbers on Steam charts do not lie, the game must be at least somewhat good if it manages to hold this amount of active players. (and possibly even keep on bringing more) I do believe that it did get a lot of attention due to Twitch and other big RUclipsrs playing it all the time. But that's just part of the business, advertisement for all those games comes in many different ways. Some of it is a bit dumb, some of it is more clever and cheeky.
Overwatch was a great example of this streamlined video game. I was very interested in that title, been following it for months before I bought it. Used to be a long running TF2 player so obviously, after sunking over 1 000 hours into it I wanted something new and Overwatch was the closest to that game that I could find at the time. All that time spent on reading bunch of reviews, watching videos of it and discussing with people who bought it about its selling price. (worth it or not?)
Then it rolled out a free weekend and I finally got a chance to try it. Spent around 17 or 20 hours on it and was hooked. Bought it, played it, invested nearly 250 hrs in it and while I do no longer play it (got some technical issues now, fault of my PC) I never regreted spending 40€ on it, despite the game looking like a cheap TF2 knock off with Disney characters and more casualized gameplay that should be like 10€ min. on Steam.
It is a legit fun game with a concept realized perfectly into a video game. Not 100% balanced, but they are trying their best, a lot of polish and little touches here and there. And gameplay that ''just works''. Was it done before? Yes. Do I give a shit that another game like that exists then? No. Because if there's no variety within the genres, everyone's gonna get sick of that one and only game that they keep playing. But, for it to win a Game of the Year award, that was just overblown. It is a very good title but it was definitely influced by the amount of hype and fame it picked up at its release.
Mack sticks to his guns, what a hero
He doesn't just stick to his guns. He kills people for them first.
The hero we needed, not the one we deserved?
The greatest part of this video was when I saw Mack's in game name as "Console Player" 😂
A tip for all of y'all, to load in the buildings, when you're about to hit the ground press "Tab" and the game will freeze for a few seconds but they will load in. Like so others can see how to fix this horrendous bug
you mean like the developers?
What made me most worried was that Bluehole said they had evidence that the player was trying to get into the same server as the streamer, but never showed it. They just claimed it and the community swallowed it, and now they know they can pull that kind of shit off. They have built a following that has swallowed their bait, line and sinker. That usually isn't conducive to the best business practices. The game has potential but what has happened the last few months doesn't make me optimistic.
Good to see a reviewer telling it like it is about this one, Mac. Great review as usual.
been dying for this review! Here we go! bet Mack is gonna rip this shit apart
It's got to the point where I'm not sure if you sleep in the day , or if when tired, you just plug yourself into the mains to keep going.
The streamer comment made me crack tf up!
So on the mark regarding the dev on this one. They say they listen to the community but despite countless requests to separate China from the rest of the player base and deal with cheating (both issues linked) they introduced a console and mobile port and more loot crates.
Sure they added new maps but they're still infested with Chinese cheaters and the anti cheat seems mostly ineffective as it mostly relies on a report system but of course by the time you need to report your match is already ruined by a cheater. And after (like Mack says) you've wasted 10 or more minutes getting a good load out only to be killed by some esp cheating scumbag, it gets very frustrating.
The devs had a product with massive potential but they screwed it up with greed and constantly breaking the game with bug ridden updates
100 million to make this game seems WAY to much. I guess someone is living it up large right now.
Just found your channel today. Your reviews are not only accurate but are f♥♥♥ing gold (y). Hilarious. Subscribed.
This game in Canada is $36.99 ;(
american dollar is worth more right now.
he gives the price in pounds sterling.
im aware m8. I'm just saying how expencive it is here
Hahaha that streamer voice was amazing!
BETAUNKNOWN'S TRASHLANDS
love the humor. "That man called me a mother fu*ker"
Yeah I'm not buying this game even though I've had plenty of friends trying to get me to pick it up and play with them as they were all raving about it when it came out. We all used to player the Player Unknown Battle Royale Mod on Arma 3 (which is a free mod) and it was fun for like 10 hours. And surprise surprise, non of them are playing it anymore as they all got bored of it after a week.
Just another flavour of the month fps game being hyped by streamers, who'll ditch it soon just like H1Z1, Rust and DayZ.
Well there are still many players in pubg and rust.
The loots not as random as he makes it sound:
1. Military buildings spawn the best loot.
2. Big urban areas spawn medium loot (school, police stations, high rise apartments, dockyards)
3. Small villages spawn the worst loot (farms and country homes)
Really getting a car should be a high priority. That will make it far easier to get to the safe area first, and you can even drive the extra few miles to a fringe village to get your gear in a relatively safe place.
I do agree it's a one trick pony though. Starts off exciting, gets boring quickly.
Here comes the storm....
roedbean darude? ;)
roedbean sandstorm
not really
I disagree with the circle being a problem. It's your job to keep an eye on the timer and get there in time, if you die by the circle that's your fault. The game is clear of where its gonna be and how long you have to get there.
Game is boring if you dont have a squad to play with. Looting for 15 minutes then dying, like mack said, without firing a shot. Waste of time.
Helter Skelter that means you're not good and should get better if you want to win. It takes trial and error to win, if you take the time and practice, you'll win.
Evan Turner lol ok
@@chipskylark8475 haha. Half the time it's auto aiming bots that Kill you. Game is a mess.
No Single Player = No Purchase. Multiplayer Only , to Me, just means the Developer was either to Lazy, or Incompetent, or both, to make a Campaign. I view Titles such as this, instantly, as complete Shovelware as a Result. I am Glad someone was honest enough to thumb this utter Trash down, Me? I wouldn't have even glorified its Miserable and Pointless Existence with a Review.
im not buying this repetitive crap
Me 4
Jaz bravo urm im not retarded enough to play csgo sorry u can enjoy it tho
Why? It's really damn good
>this
Davis r idk it looks repetitive
Mostly spot on, but the luck rant and the "importance" of cosmetics are really off base. Some of your inexperience with the game really showed, which is understandable.
The cosmetics don't matter with how the graphics run. You will have drab dull colors and that's as much as you need, you can choose to put yourself at a disadvantage with some really bright gaudy stuff. 75% of your player appearance is determined by the combat gear you pick up (vest, backpack, helmet).
The luck stuff isn't completely wrong per say, but it's focused on the wrong points. Circles matter, but only in the final circles. If you don't like the risk of running across large areas to get to circles, you drop towards the center of the map, or grab a vehicle. A late game circle however can definitely give a significant advantage to who-ever gets luckier.
Second point is the loot. The most important part is getting an assault rifle, a helmet, vest, and backpack. Things is, just getting one is more important than which specific types you get, and unless you drop in the ass end of nowhere (which is your choice), you will get all of these things, guaranteed.
I would agree the game is a bit of a luckfest in solos, but it really goes down in duos, and is even further reduced in squads. To just sum up the gameplay as a luckfest when the mechanics actually reward high skill in aiming, good movement, squads communicating and using fire team tactics is misleading to be honest. At squad level, it's a strategic shooter. The luck factor needs to be discussed, but not in a vacuum.
One con that wasn't brought up is the absolutely terrible tickrate in the beginning of the game. It's so horrible, beginning fights sometimes feel awful and start approaching that bs zone where you don't feel like player skill factored who won, which is a big issue, because I avoid early game scrambles like a plague now, even though they can (could) be very fun.
Hunger games really influenced a lot of these Battle Royale games
Actually the japanese movie called Battle Royale influenced these Battle Royale games.
Derek Reinmiller whoooosh
Braun Stokes Men Nigga it is literally based off of Battle Royale
anurag fuuuuuck he was joking you clueless fool. He made a conscious decision to capitalise the words battle royale, clearly referencing the film. Are you seriously that devoid of a sense for humour
I absolutely love your reviews you have me crying with laughter. I held back from this game as a streamer and think I will continue to do so. Keep up the great work and the TRUTH !
BlueHole review or PUBG review? Still, all you said is true.
I love this game but I definitely agree with you on some points especially the stream sniper one.
They bann people for streamsniping without evidence but why would they even bann people for doing that?
They decide to stream their games it's their fault they're getting streamsniped, you shouldn't get banned for doing that how is this even a valid point?
have you seen bethesda and their paid mods mack? what is your thought?
Tristan Marshall he did a video on it
Look at hes earlier vids. He adressed it a while ago:)
i feel like a mug, i forgot about it, the E3 daily ding
I'm loving this game so far and have no quarrels with this review. One tip for anyone playing: MIC SETTINGS TO TEAM ONLY!!!
Gaming is dead
It's dying.
its all about FUCKING US for more money micro transactions are the shittiest fucking things to happen to games
Buddha612 Time for indie devs to shine, devs who create because they love to make games and love to see their imagination come to life, not big companies who only care about the numbers!
I brought this game and I still can find moments to enjoy it. I wouldn't recommend this game to any of my friends though. I agree with your review Mack the game doesn't give enough for the price tag. Hopefully the developers learn from their actions, and work towards adding more content to the game instead "skins".
Hopped on this video fast
I agree i know its a fun game but only 1 mod for 26$ cant be the best thing on the steam store :x
10 million sold units and they need more money ?????
8:40 ahaha that voice made me laugh out loud
I agree with everything you said and loved the video but the streamer situation is very bad, its not killing streamers that is what causes people to get so mad, you should watch Cr1tikalz video on the situation. Banning just for killing a streamer is not ok like you said but there are exceptions such as Forsenlol's case. He cant play the game whatsoever and these people are legitimately harassing these streamers, some are crybaby's but a majority is having serious issues. If you do read this thank you for taking your time and loved the video and all your content keep it up
Delay your stream. Problem solved.
If you're a streamer, you are...you are...you are...
You are the FUCKING best!!
Do you know how it feels when you have a voice in your head and then you hear it out loud? Only here. love you mac
I agree with most of the stuff you are saying, but I don't think you should be grouping all the streamers in one big category. Sure there are some twitch guys that get really salty about snipers and are overall kind of divas about it *cough Summit cough* but a lot of the other ones don't really give a shit. In fact, I know two streamers, Jericho and Smitty, for example were really mad at the devs when they first banned a stream sniper and were calling them out on it being bullshit.
When you grow up you'll find that when people talk about a large group of people they don't necessarily refer to all of the members.
You will never have the whole population agree on a subject, the best thing you can do is generalise.
he made your point in the video, "i'm a streamer but i don't cry about being killed". And "it's about these sniveling little..." Listen before you react, it all flows together, like a good movie with a plot twist.
So, multiplayer only and always online. Strike 1. It has microtransactions & what may be pay to win mechanics. Strike 2. Game wants to become/ cater to Esports. Strike 3. You're out. Next is Shadow of Mordor, oh....
07:24 - this isn't true, most of the common items are 0.03 to 0.10 USD, but these are for things that you can open in game naturally anyway. The expensive stuff is just show off bling that isn't needed for the game (don't understand people that buy this btw, pointless - bright yellow kill bill outfit out in the open, riiiight). Plus first person it doesn't make sense anyway seeing as soon as you get in the game you pick up jackets, tops and pants etc anyway.
Source for pricing: steamcommunity.com/market/search?appid=578080#p1_price_asc
Shame Butthole Studios and other devs/publishers are putting so many microtransactions in gaming. Not sure it's good for the younger generation to grow up with gambling issues, I expect regulation to come in during the next few years.
The clay buildings (buildings not loading) isn't a small bug either, it's the most gamebreaking, and infuriating bug in the entire game. It plagues users with 8 gigabytes of ram and a single hard disk drive. The above isn't just for clay buildings, it causes also: More frequent crashing trying to load lobby, freezing in the plane when opening map, freezing when buildings load, severe stuttering when buildings are loading, random game freezes when buildings do load.
How clay buildings affects your gameplay:
Not being able to pick up items for several minutes, causing you and your teammates to die to other players while you are literally helpless
When your buildings load, if you are standing where objects are, you get permanently stuck and can no longer continue the match.
The game stuttering and freezing while your trying to shoot enemies.
Your game completely freezing, and you have to rejoin the match.
They have known about this since steam release and to my knowledge haven't attempted to fix it, its a huge issue for users with 8gb ram and one hdd. Sure we could upgrade, but why make us do that when they can fix it? This issue plagues many and to me it's the biggest known bug in the game and it ruins the start of matches, sure you can land really far away from players, but thats not fucking fun to encounter no players.
I really really hope the developers fix this clay buildings issue asap but I know they wont anytime soon.. they are still rolling in their 300 million dollars.
I wish they wouldnt have taken away the weekly/ monthly update either, if they needed more time just extend it to biweekly updates and monthly or bi monthly updates, those scheduled updates made the community feel like it was rolling forward with updates, now it feels like dayz, where updates take longer than they should. It just wasnt the right decision to take away the scheduled updates completely.
That's all the major problems I have, and the other ones are just nitpickey.
Edit: I forgot to list my computer specs when writing this. The game itself framerate wise runs rather well, and they have optimized it to the point of playability in the framerate department.
Specs:
i5-4690k @ 4.4GHz watercooled with kraken x61
8GB ddr3 1600mhz
GTX 1060 6GB
1x WD10ezex 1TB 7200RPM HDD
Wow, thats gotta be some pretty sloppy netcode if they can't make it run smoothly with those kind of specs... This game is gonna need some serious optimization. I don't understand what their excuse is for having hardware requirements nearly ten times greater than something like Team Fortress 2! I know its not a perfect comparison, but TF2 will literally run on a POTATO, or possibly even a toaster oven, 5 year old android phones are nearly overkill! It's still blowing my mind that I have GTA San Andreas on my PHONE! So I think its safe to say Blue Hole ain't blowing that insane budget in the coding department... Makes a guy wonder what the heck they are doing with all that cash $?$?$?
Also, on the micro transactions. I have no problem when it's a community market. I get money for stuff I get from points that were free for playing. I've made like 10 bucks from selling gear. So this 30 dollar game really cost 20... Anyways. I think some criticisms were a little inaccurate. Cheers Mac, still like it.
I have over 500 hours in the game, and I played almost every single day. That being said I totally agree with you Mac
I'd disagree and say it's worth a buy. 26 quid for a game you can play with mates.. it's the first game I can play each night with friends since cod2. Good bullet mechanics.. good sound on weapons.. high skill level and first person and third person modes for depending which you prefer. Got about 300hrs or more in it and not bored of it yet. Plus I've sold about 10 quids worth of items dropped in the game so it's only cost about 16 quid overall. Such a laugh with mates too, and that feeling of getting a chicken dinner after some tense firefights using tactics with friends is amazing.
Bloody hell you must not have many games :o
Cropper The Brit not first person for OCE players because the devs are idiots.
Mack, there are literally hundreds of thousands of players with hundreds and thousands of hours into PUBG already. YOU are the minority on this one bud.
Yeah, that's all good until they ban you because you dared to kill a streamer.
Must always let streamers win. Maybe they should just make big streamers invisible in game lmao.
So you are to blame for all the paid mods from bethesda, Loot crates in Shadow of war, bad bad grinding in gta 5 online. You sir are venomous to this great hobby
I do enjoy this game. Luckily for me I haven't gotten to the Twitch or streaming side of this game. I don't watch streamers and I don't ever plan to. Of course that side of the game, based on the things you've stated, sucks quite a lot. But you also mentioned something about the crates won't be free anymore? There used to be two types of crates.
1) The ones that we have now, where you get 700 BP and get your first crate of the week, where the second crate of the week would be 1400, and at the start of every week they reset back to 700 and double at every crate you buy. Those are the free ones.
2) You could buy these crates with BP but could only unlock them with keys you had to purchase with IRL money. Those crates are gone as of right now. I'm sure they'll be back.
All of that to say, I strongly don't feel like they'll make the free ones disappear. It's a huge progression side to the game that makes it slightly worth-while playing. Agreed with everything you said about the streamers though, and thanks again for another one of your videos. :)
Honestly get Lawbreakers for the same price instead. Its a much better game, bout to meet a sad fate. Use your wallet to support good games.
Alduizard there's a reason Lawbreakers is dying. Just because you bought it and realized how fukt you are doesn't mean others should grab it lol
GudJuJu its not the best game of the genre but its still good. And I HAVEN'T BOUGHT IT btw, I play overwatch and don't have interest in buying another class based shooter. Secondly, there aren't servers for Lawbreakers near my country. Don't just assume anything on your own.
So you're recommending a game you don't even own? How does that make sense?
Woody
As ive already said, im already into overwatch, I have a lot of friends there. And you want me to basically play a twitch shooter at high ping coz the closest server to my place gives 180 ms latency in lawbreakers. I played it extensively during the beta and the game was really really good.
The question still remains why are you suggesting to other people to waste their money on a dying game if you don't even own it yourself lol
I am sooooooooo glad I found this video before purchasing this game. This was a hilarious, and totally made me change my mind about buying this game. A lot of my friends wanted me to buy this game to stream it, but nevermind now. Thank you for the honest and funny review. :-)
I think you don't have a full grasp on what a battle royale game is like or is suppose to be. What do you expect from this game?
Don't you hate that in NHL 2018 you can only play hockey? Ludicrous!
i'm glad you said taht at the end, Mack. Your points are spot on with the developers actions and the actual gameplay vs. price.
My dog died, like if you agree!
Cryptotic LOL
Cryptotic I spit out my water lmao
My hamster died.
Forgot to take it out of my ass.
Lol. Nice.
"Your little Snowflake Alarm will go off" hahaha. That´s why i love this channel. Thanks Mack, for everything in the last years
This game is worth a buy 100%, specially if you have friends.
PowLao No wonder an anime avatar
especially*
TRON lol upset ? Sorry forgot people with anime avatars arnt allowed to share their opinion
I would rather play invisigun heroes with friends than this to be honest.
lol
You were so damn right Mack!
I have to disagree with you Mac. This game is great and yes there are micro transactions but, you can earn the points to unlock the crates. Everything in the crates are cosmetic and not game changing items. The game is great and my coworker's enjoy getting on too. I'm 100 hours into the game and it's legit. I guess different people have different opinions and we value your opinions. Keep up the great work.
You're right that the looting is partly luck based, but it is skill based enough that good players will always be able to get looted better than bad players because they know the areas with the best loot etc.
You deliver a rant so hilariously well. My favorite RUclips channel keep it up :)
Legend! ive seen streamers report the person who killed them a good few times, even though they were the ones that went to engage other person. keep up the good work!
That accent though!! haha Nice one Mack xD 8:34
The strategy behind this game has a lot of luck involved, but much more skill and tactics and strategy than you give it credit for.
Tooling up, scavenging, barracading yourself in somewhere at times, all involves strategy far beyond aim and shoot. It's great.
Love it.
Its funny the gaming industry is anti consumer and still people refuse to see it. If everyone stopped buying games that included season passes and micro transactions the industry would have to change.
Thanks bro, I was considering to buy this game for me and my friends, but after reading hundreds of negative reviews complaining about the "stream sniping bans" and the many videos (including yours, which was decisive) complaining about it too, I decided to expend my money elsewhere.
Perhaps someday when the game is at 80% off I might get it just for the lols
It's a pre release. I agree. However, once it's in alpha and fully released with maybe 5+ maps, extra modes, horde, zombies, racing etc, pistol, only, smg only etc etc then perhaps it "might" be worth £25.
I never want to see another crate in a game ever again. i'm having nightmares about crates at this stage...
As it stands now IMO this is the best "play with your mates" game on the market. Nothing else comes close to sheer replayability and diverse gameplay scenarios this game creates. Every engagement is different and winning feels so satisfying unlike many other games which give you rank or items in exchange for that good feeling. Shooting is solid and with the upcoming new guns, maps and gameplay mechanics, I feel the price is well worth it.
However I understand your feelings towards this game as a single player type like yourself and I do find this game rather frustrating going solo if not boring.
I wouldn't say it's luck most of the time. You have to keep on the move until you find better guns, armor;health etc. You essentially make your own luck. Once you play the map for a couple hours you start to know how to estimate where good gums are. Not near them? Youll find and remember where a car is. Again this is all based on where you set yourself on the map from the start.the trick to winning is to avoid contact until the very end. Havent started with good stuff? Find a car and go to a better place
"Zon't vorry, ve vill zu someting about it, vecause ve vant your money, snif snif" LOL
It is not luck since you can make decisions in early game that set you up for the rest of the game. Also you make decisions how to play the circle and when and where to engage and how to get to the circle. It is positioning, decision making under pressure and having a solid game plan until the end.
Jack Frags, biggest sell out on RUclips 🤑🤮
Entertaining and informative as always. I'm surprised you didn't discuss the clunky movement and controls. I bought this, played it for an hour, and then returned it due to terrible player movement, especially compared to other great FPSs. I might buy in the future of they fix that.
I love the game, and it has been the main thing I play with friends as of late. But I agree with every criticism you have, as they are all ones that me and my group has. The buildings not loading in sometimes has been an issue since launch, and really should have been fixed by now (My group likes to call it "Toontown buildings" lol). The microtransactions was a real kick in the nuts to people who have bought into early access. We also all agree that, at least for the last 3 or so circles (To keep the randomness in the beginning when everyone is spread out, but make it reliable in the end when everyone is forced close together), it should close in exactly in the center of the previous zone so no one gets an advantage unless they place them self in an advantageous spot.
Stream sniping should not be bannable, even if proven. If that's how they want to spend their time, who the fuck are the devs to tell them no.
It's a temporary ban. 3 days I think. A streamer bought a new account, didn't realise it was a temp.
I wish a triple A developer would jump on this king of the hill genre. Pubg was an indie game from the beginning and has all the issues an indie game does (lag, unpolished, clunky, etc), but unlike it's competition it's actually really fun. Even with 100 million they still won't be able to iron out all the kinks because the foundation they built the game on is forever gonna be indie.
It's not like it would take much to make a great king of the hill. The concept is so simple that you just need to throw 50 million at a competent developer and they can make a better pubg.
Thanks for the honest review! I bought the game because I had it recommended, but the lag of intructions and wait time when I wanted to try it out for the first time, made me unistall and I got a refund before I even got to try it. So glad I did that after seing this review. Hopefully someone will copy this game as an Arma 3 mod.
i personally do like this game and yes i do agree that it is riddled with bugs, i haven't seen this whole streamers getting there own server shite as i currently stream this game (as well as others) and there's been nothing of this going on (not saying it hasn't been going on) as far as i know but i do agree there has been some shady shite when it comes to the streamers getting killed then having other players banned for it, beyond a joke and i cant explain why i think this but when i see streamers at times there are moments where i think that when streamers pop into a server that they get the best guns instantly as well as armour bullets etc. i'm glad to see your side of this Mack because at the moment I've not heard anything bad about this which has made me quite worried for the next few patches and next couple of games especially Shadow of war i ain't touching that with a 50 foot barge pole.
Thank you for being honest and having integrity. Sick of seeing people talk up this game when it pulls the most seedy shit.
1:40 that's me and ReFL3X fighting them from the house opposite with the blown up Dacia. Ahahaha that's awesome!
If this game didn't have that jump'n'shoot feature I would've bought it already. I'm glad they've added a first person gamemode to it but it ain't enough to justify people jumping arround whenever they get shot at or whenever they need to shoot you with a shotty at close distance. That's just a huge BS to me.
Wish I could upvote twice. I love that you're actually critical - none of this "but they use it for a competition" (free self ads) or "but they're a company so of course they need money" BS other victims are prostituting themselves into respewing.
I just wanted a true walking dead experience when I first heard about these battle royale and zombie games getting popular.
