Your wife has such a sweet spirit. You are both blessed that God brought y’all together.

I’ve said for many years that the Amish lifestyle is one to be emulated.
And now, I’ve been immersed in that same culture recently. Our little town has a growing Amish community and we recently had a very nice young family move very near to us.
I’ve fast taken to them as they seem to be a wonderful addition to the farm.
One that I hope lasts for my remaining years, however long or short they may be.
Have a blessed day, brother and sister ❤️

Self sufficient lifestyle is wonderful and inspiring. It is the draconian religion that brings a tear to my eye.

I think a lot of people feel that way. The way of life, strong work ethic, healthy eating, strong sense of community, independence from government, etc. are all actually very appealing. But the religious beliefs is what ruins it.

I have Amish that live on three sides of me. I love it. And I agree 100% if it wasn't for some of the rules I would definitely throw my driver's license and burn it and live the lifestyle.

Maybe could make your own community without those strict rules. But still say you make it for religious reasons so that you get accepted by the government.

btw...I just love you and your wife. I too, don't mind the Amish lifestyle. I've kinda of lived it when I was younger. Minus a few differences but yeah...the rules. The rules just kill it lol. I'm well aware of the problems. Just saying, the idea behind the lifestyle is good. Something that's been lost. Everyone seems to feel entitled these days. Government take care of me mentality. Hard work is like a bad allergy to some. GOD BLESS and much love to you both!

My husband and I are...hold onto your hat...19 yrs apart in age. NO ONE thought we'd stay together more than a couple of yrs. I was in my early 20's and just starting college (after my own Rumspringa), and he was in his mid 40's. Everyone said I'd outgrow him. 33 plus yrs later, and here we are. Still together. Never had a fight or real argument. NOT ONCE. WE always agree to disagree, but haven't found much to disagree on.
We were talking one day about something. IDK what it was. When we realized...we had met before!! He grew up across the street from my grannies sisters house. When I was a kid, we'd go visit granny, and take her to go visit her sister. Us kids would would always make a bee line for the door. Go outside and see what other kids were around we could play with. He on the other hand, was the one who mowed his folks lawn.(often with a push mower like the Amish use) I remembered seeing him outside pushing that antiquated thing lol. That's how we knew, we'd crossed paths. I don't remember if he and I actually spoke. Most likely not, but I'm sure he spoke with my dad or grannies sister.
I often wonder, just how many times we cross paths with our future spouses and don't know it? The saying "a match made in Heaven" seems so real to me. On a side note. My own father and mother have an interesting story. They were born and raised in diff. towns. My mom lived with her grandparents on a farm about midway between the 2 towns. My dad and his father went to this farm on a job. So the two met there, not knowing that yrs later they would marry.
Even MORE IRONICALLY, yrs and yrs later, after I'd graduated from College. My dads sister and her husband ended up buying and living on that same farm. The whole family would meet out there for Thanksgiving. I can't say I believe in coincidences. That's just toooooo much lol.

And I'm not someone who trolls or leaves disrespectful, rude comments *anywhere.* Btw, love seeing your wife in your vids. You can tell how much she loves you - how much you love each other. It's uplifting to see that even though the years have gone by, the ,❤ is 💪🏽❣️

My son, my wife and I all have experience outdoors with scouting for almost 30 years. My son is an eagle. I think my biggest crutch would be Pennsylvania Dutch even though there are a lot of similarities to high German.
