PS 2 used 8 MB memory card through magic gate. PS 5 supports SSD up to 8 TB...thats equal to 1 000 000 PS 2 memory cards. Quite crazy.
The PS2 memory card was only for save points. The PS5 SSD is for the whole game. Save points do not require as much memory.
SAMSUNG 990 PRO w/Heatsink here..so far satisfied
Got a 4TB 990 Pro the other day, transferred 300GB in 3 minutes, insane.
Yes, moving from console to this expansion are lightning fast!!! Downloading into the SSD is pretty damn fast too
I've just ordered mine expected tomorrow I can't wait 👍😎
What were temperatures like while using Corsair and XPG?
Got the 2TB Adata XPG S70 Blade and bought a cheap 6mm heatsink because the included 1mm heatsink made me think it would not be enough. The transfer speeds from internal storage to it are insanely fast. Had it for a year in the PS5 and it runs fantastic. No need for expensive ssd that does absolutely nothing better mounted in the PS5.
Ok where can I buy Adata I uk lol nowhere
I have the same one 1terabyte makes the ps5 cooler by 20% have no issue haven’t seen ur pa5 is overheated
Just can't see why you would recommend any drive over the Samsung 990 Pro unless for the cost?
WD Black SN850X 🤔
Just realized I had the exact same Air-Duster as yours.
Got the 2TB Fircuda without heatsink as a black friday deal in Norway for about 99$,and got the Sabrent one off Amazon. Works like a charm! Speed reads at around 6500. No overheating issues or anything so far
I cop’d da Xpg 1terabyte no issue no ps5 is overheating
I would not go for the firecuda I've had 2 of them brick on me in n time span of 2.5 years with more than in terabyte of space left on it and i had the heat sink. I just got myself the samsung 990 pro with heatsink
I got the Lexar 790 for a budget ssd to try abd its runs very good, it goes 6700 and has been good
Friend, seagate firecuda 540 comes with dissipated?
Would it be suitable for PS5?
Crucial P5 Plus ,WD Black SN850x ✌️
I got the XPG 2T on Amazon for $80 🎉 works great and zero issues
Same!
I bought Kingston Fury Renegade w/o heatsink. Added a huge heatsink and installed without cover. Gives 6896Mb/s. TBW : 2000Gb
I have a huge heat sink for my 980 samsung pro. I can't put the cover on it. Lol. But it's never acted up on me either. If it shuts off its because the power supply needs cleaned up. The power supply is the icheles heal to the ps5.
I’m going for the Corsair 4tb coz I’m a greedy little so and so fuck knows how many games I’ll get for that storage what do you reckon peeps ?
I got the WD 850 1tb but my read speed is about 6k+ how can i get it to the full 7k speed?
Sony needs to push the ssd limits to 8TB my damn 2TB is damn near full and I plan on getting a 4TB at Christmas time due to sales.
They updated it to 8TB a while back
you missed the WD SN850X. Best on the market for price as well. £135 for a 2tb off the WD website right now. shame on you
Just ordered the 1TB version for £74, I wont need 2TB. Comes tomorrow!
@@darrengofton7564did you get it with heatsink?
@@ay0u8hussain32 yes from Amazon 👍🏼. After watching a video on here it was easy to fit although I did have to try twice as initially the drive wasn’t connected properly so my PS5 didn’t recognise it. Once pushed it it needs to be able to ‘bounce’ when pressed before it’s fastened down with the screw.
@@darrengofton7564 thanks for the info bro I’m getting one too 👍
I have the best ssd on earth it's called an internet connection
Thanks for awesome video comparison, can u plz help telling which one is better in your opinion corsair or XPG ssd? Performance wise and heatsink wise
He's a robot. Good luck.
I am thinking about Kingston fury regenade 2T heatsink, is good choice right ??
Yeah it is great.dont worry.
strange, but not in the video, not in the comments there is no gigabyte aorus 7000s, or 7300s. I've had a ps5 1tb 7000s for almost two years and it's great. I think you can buy it for 2tb.
I would not waste my time with a 1t as games take up so much space I order a 2t
Just installed the Corsair MP600 LPX (2TB) and the PS5 reported 6834 MB/sec read speed. Paid less than $120.
Yes, this one is a great deal.
From where you buy it ?
Where at?
its at $130 everywhere for the 2tb ver
Whats about the crucial
The Corsair has a lot, and I mean A LOT, of complaints everywhere... I was really close to buy it and changed my mind after seeying how much people had issues with it.
You might as well get the 2tb Firecuda with heatsink from the start. I originally got the 1tb and quickly filled it up. So I put that in my pc and got the 2tb for my PS5 . I just love the name...FIRECUDA ❗❗❗❗🤔
Why not a 4tb?
@@downsouthrapvault Man, how many game do you play or keep instaled ?
I just load 6 games and delete/Reinstall after that .
Luckily I have fast internet and can reload my games from PS library in 10 mins.
thanks for sharing
I got the 4tb Silicon Power XS70 its a beast
My xpg 6321 speed
I have a WD Black SN850X NVMe 8 TB, Gen 4.
What do you think about that SSD M2 model, is it good or not? I'm interested in your opinion
Actually the best one. Should’ve been included in this video and many people in this comment section are clueless to why it isn’t. But if it was to have been included it would’ve took the top spot by a long margin as it is currently the best ssd
I have the firecuda ingot drive starwars ingot drive
I feel I'm the only person with a Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus
I bought a samsung 990 pro ssd without a heatsink for my ps5 and Idk if I should install it without the heatsink or should I buy one
I would buy it
If it's cheaper than a 7000MBps drive then go for it. Otherwise it's a waste of money as the ps5 Max's them out around 6900MBps
Edit I misread lol. You bought it
What’s the update on your 990 pro? I want to buy one but would like to hear your honest opinion on it first.
@dulantos honestly.. its been great!
I've had it for one month by now at this point and even though I did not update the ssd like people have said and not used a heatsink, it's been working fine and fast too!
I transferred 80gbs in about 9 seconds
Yes,heatsink is a must..because it will hot a lot and can dmg your PS components inside aswell..at least from my research and was thermal..
Can you add the prices
Firecuda over heats a lot. You have to buy a third party cooler fan to cool down the ps5. It's what I been told.
I have a firecuda in mine and its teriffic
May i know do Ssd for pc which means Nvme is it compitable with ps5
yes it is nvme
i have a 970 evo plus laying around would it be compatible
No
@@shake_n_bake6192 sad
how is corsair above kingston and samsung when they are obviously faster. doesnt make sense especially since the kingston is fine with the graphine and the cheapest option
Not only that but I'm sure the lifespan aka TBW is also lower
Hey. I need to change my cooler. But i dont get open the screws:( Do anybody know what to do? Thanks for the video. Are after a 4TB card:)
U need special screw driver..tr8 torx screw driver for the fan
@@-50shadesofINSANITY Thanks. I saw this comment now:) But i did what you said for 4 days ago and now my ps5 is very good again:)
and Corsair 2TB MP700 PCI 5.0 ??? this have 10GB/s read/ write.... is more fast... good for ps5 ?
Corsair MP 700 is not PS5 compatible right now but Corsair mp600 pro LPX is...
Pretty sure the PS5's arquitecture limits the max. transfer to between 8-9 GB/sec. (Compressed). So 10GB+ will never be feasible. Don't waste your money on anything over 8GB/sec.
So what IS the maximum SSD speed the PS5 can handle? The minimum, 5,500GB/s, is very well known but I don't see anyone mentioning the maximum. What sort of interface is this? Is it PCIe 4.0 x4? So 8,000GB/s maximum?
yep,PCIe 4.0 x4 and 7100 MB/s read speed and 6800 MB/s write speed max,
I'm new to ps5...with these things, do you get to play the game directly off from them? I ask because I just found out that if I send games to my external hard drive I can't, which is frustrating.
Yes with these you can move your ps5 games and play them from there.
Yes
WD SN850x Black
Runs too hot.
@deepdutta2938 no it doesn't. I've got it and never had an issue
Too expensive.
Is there a single 4TB drive for the PS5 that is confirmed NOT to have firmware issues? I'm asking because I've been using a Samsung 980 2TB for my PS5, and it died yesterday. Now I'm reading that these had some firmware issue that caused them to die early. I could care less about some marginal plus/minus 10-20% in performance, I just don't want the damn thing that I pay hundreds of dollars for to die on me.
it's Not firmware issue it's BAD cooling you probably didn't had heatsink or got one per Sony Idiotic specs and closed the SSD bay this is the Only reason SSDs in PS5 dies just get Corsair MP600 PRO XT NOT LPX it has great heatsink that sticks out from the ssd bay providing much better cooling and don't try to close the ssd bay
the heatsinks that replace the ssd bay cover are also an option but i wouldn't use them on a double sided ssd meaning 2TB and 4TB ssds
I've got the Firecuda 530 4TB installed in my PS5, no issues as of yet
My Samsung 990 has worked well, but I've only had it a few months.
Why not just add external storge or do they work with a ps5
😂😂😂of course NOT external u can keep only ps4 games🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
You can store games on external drives, but you can't play them. They will transfer back to internal faster than re-downloading, though.
Samsung SSDs 👌
WD should be right there at the top!!!
What do you expect from a creator that's too cowardly to use their own voice to talk and has to resort to AI
WD had semi bad feedback not as fast as advertised
@@KillaMaNilla92 My guy what do you think “Up to …” means? Every M.2 drive tested on PS5 tops out around 6,500 gigs per second at best
@@jollama I get what you saying I'm trying to buy an SSD like yeserday but what I'm saying from my research I'm talking about the supposed improvements the sn850p was meant to have compared to the previous model and the x
Can you play games off the ssd card?????
Yes, you can
Aorus Gen4 the best
What game is that at the begining
Days gone
So the real question is for all of you who have posted. Which has the most GGB. Then who has used their PS5 which has the most PS5 GGB.So I can get mine set up right that is a good question?
is lexar nm790 4tb good for ps5?
Its over 6000 on both read and write
Lexar is a long standing brand with respectable stats giving great bang for buck.
@@rickysweet1399 Thank you Richy. Then i will order right a way.
@@rickysweet1399 And do you think i can use the heatsinker from my wd sn850x? Its fit with others ssd then wd. So i think i can use it?
@@tittentei7331 I couldn't imagine why it would be a problem. I also noticed lexar dropped the nm790 with heatsink last month specifically for ps5.
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
WD is not on the list?
Very surprising. Not even a mention. Probably not one of the sponsored drives he gets a small royalty from via linked sales. 😉
@@user-lt1ty5do7fOr maybe he just doesn't have a WD drive to test. Imagine paying for 6 ssd's ($700-$1000) just to make a 6 minute video.
The Best NVME for PS5 is one like Corsair MP600 Pro XT NOT LPX cause it has Bigger heatsink that sticks out from the ssd bay allowing for better cooling even if you have ssd with smaller heatsink Never close the ssd bay don't listen to what Sony says ssd bay is Completely closed off from the system so there's no airflow at all and when you close the door all the heat just stays there Corsair MP600 Pro XT already has very good Heatsink for PS5 but you can also get Seagate Firecuda 530 with a 3th party heatsink that is as big as Corsair MP600 Pro XT theres several great choices on Amazon
many ppl have put small heatsinks on their ssd per Sony Stupid specs and closed the tray which caused their ssd to fail some even ruined their PS5s so if you understand anything about how heat behaves you know what to get
You're so right! The bay cover is there to be removed once an SSD is installed. Like a dummy cover.
@@theuncanspan The cover should be reinstalled after the SSD is installed. It is designed to direct airflow from the fan over the SSD. If the cover is not reinstalled, the airflow will not be directed correctly.
No shot you were playing league on a controller
No one gonna talk about playing league on a controller 💀
xd i remember my self when I played raven on controller because I'm bad using keyboard I was new in pc 😂
Buying Expensive SSD for PS5 is just a tons of WASTE .. Expensive SSD only useful when you use it for working ... for a PS5?? just go for XPG Gammix S70 Blade .. Cheaper and it works flawlessly .. with you could get 2TB of this with the price of 1TB FURY , Corsair and the others
Got a chinese fanxiang s770 months ago for a bargain, 2tb with dram, has 6000+ speed no issues so far.

Do not buy anything from WD directly. Use a third party if you insist on having their products. The reason I say this is because they have delivered my product using UPS, who left it in an insecure location from where it was stolen (if it was actually my door, can't really tell from the picture), and now they refuse to help. They insisted I get a crime number which I have done and now they have just turned around, ordered me a 20% discount on my next purchase OR an extra years warranty on the item that has been stolen. Complete joke of a company, I will be taking it further and completely out of their hands.
I’ve had Xbox my whole life and now I decided to switch to PlayStation. Now I deal with a hot console that could possibly turn off when playing “intense games”… WTF?? XBOX never has bonehead problems like this
What are the write and read speeds of the PS5 standard SSD?
5.5 GB/s RAW until 9 GB/s compressed
Don't waste your hard earned money!! Ps5 is Doo Doo!!
Yup got the ps5, never had so many issues it's a pain in the ass
I paid $2,000 for my SSD and it’s really fast! I think I got a pretty good deal.
In wich world firecuda its better? when the N°5, fury is up to 7300/7000, cool video but not agree🫡
