Rudy is a cool guy, I met him on the Quiet riot Metal health reunion tour. I said- I'm glad you're back in the band. He gave the Rudy grin. He's a solid bass player, he's been around forever, he's played with tons of bands. He always gives a great interview. I have his book Off the rails. What a great book! His interviews, talking about Randy are absolutely great. He is one of the favorites.....
Rudy has been nothing but nice & encouraging towards me..I'm non-existent in the rock industry & he complimented my guitar playing & tone. -That meant the world to me & added fuel to my fire...I love his "realness" & his persistence inspires me.
Rudy defines industry knowledge, experience and true professionalism. ....and that music is the foun tain of youth (if you take care of yourself). Rock on Rudy!
Yea, every time I’ve seen him a documentary or interviews, he has always seemed so humble and kind. I just live the nice things he said about Randy Rhoads, warmed my heart 1111 ❤❤❤❤❤
Rudy has had the most amazing career of just about anyone in rock. Going from one amazing band to another. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.
let's be real Rudy Sarzo is a living legend, and he is a good guy on many levels by all accounts. And it's great what he is doing with the Quiet Riot legacy. Randy Rhoads should go down as one ofthe greatest to ever pick up the guitar, an incredible songwriter and live player. His isolated tracks that people are releasing of guitar only, you hear the brilliance and little things he was doing. I saw a conversation the other day on the crazy train solo, not really on how great it is but how many guitars are on the solo.......imagine having that conversation because of how great he was and the sound he got.
You are so spot on. To me Randy is a legend and should be recognized for his awesome talent, I mean WOW, His playing is mesmerizing. Taken way to soon. Can you imagine where he would have been musically today, he made it look so effortless. I love Randy and it makes me really sad that he was taken at such a young age. So much talent. WOW WOW WOW❤Randy was magical💫✨⚡️💫✨⚡️
@@shan-2233 Randy is greater than EVH was in the short time he was with Quiet Riot and Ozzy, and had he lived, would have shown the world that. Randy triple layered all his rhythm guitar tracks for Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman, including solos to thicken up the sound and were panned left and right. Max Norman was the producer. There are some really cool interviews with Max about the recording and the way Randy recorded and multi layered his tracks. I have Guitar World Magazine interviews, but I am fairly certain you can find them online and have come across some cool stuff on RUclips about the recording process, particularly for Diary of A madman, where a farmhouse in UK was hired, and Randy played in a room and the amps were mic'd up in a weird place in the attic or downstairs, I'll have to read them again. Long live RR
Rudy was always at the epicenter of Metal ; Ozzy, Quiet Riot, Driver, White Snake .... Glad to see that he still carries the Quiet Riot banner onto the future.
I love the fact that Randy and Rudy didn’t mess with drugs . I think I heard in an interview that Randy didn’t drink either. Such humble guys. Randy Rhoads started out in Quite Riot. I have a VHS Tape of him in the band. 🎸🔥🎸🔥
I bumped into Rudy at a computer store years ago. He was nicest, most down-to-Earth person you could meet and was more interested in learning about you than telling tales of his rock star success. A real gentleman!
I have the best Rudy Sarzo story… He was playing with white snake Chicago. Vivian Campbell snuck out back jump in a crap Honda car with a very beautiful Asian girl. Rudy walks by and I wanna autograph he said I’ll be back in a minute before he makes it onto a bus a girl with heavy downs syndrome Runs up and hand him a rose. He spent all the time she wanted with him. The girl walks away. Rudy gets on the bus, dumps out the vase with a dead flower puts the new rose . And that changed how I thought about everything. Rudy became the coolest guy on the planet to me and I was 18 years old. I’m glad I saw this guy share that love or I would’ve never repeated it.
At 1:24:30 Rudy makes a great point that so many people my age miss. With RUclips and things like it available now , anyone can reconnect with the stuff they loved in the 80s or 70s or whichever era you relate to. I admit I use the internet mainly to see and hear things from my formative years that I otherwise would never see again if I depended upon TV or radio . It's all out there to be enjoyed again. They were called records because they are recorded, for eternity, and now you can actually find the stuff. Go back and find what makes you feel good. I live in a bubble, cut off from modern trends , fake news , idiotic social media crap. And I couldn't be happier.
40 years ago i saw that guy on stage with Ozzy Osbourne at the Montreal forum.Tommy Aldridge and Rudy sarzo were so tight,as a first concert ever,i was totally blown away!
I met Rudy once in passing in L.A. briefly and I could tell he was a great gentleman, he really made me think, there are sill good people on our planet 🎸🤘🎶🎼🖤🙏
Hi…. Rudy were in NY ? I grew up in The City of Tonawanda……. Your one hell of a bass player…. Only bass players could DREAM being as half as good as you……
When I was at the Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp in 2010 in Philly at one of the jam sessions Rudy was in charge of the jam and saw me playing full bar chords on guitar and came over to me a suggested that I learn to cut the chords down to Power Chords. Also 2 mornings Rudy sat behind my wife and me in the cafe and we talked a great deal with him. Rudy is a great person.
Rudy ..Thank you .. I was a teen in the 80s and there was alot of music you were apart of creating that I enjoyed and helped me in the good times and bad! God bless you daily
Rudy you are BRILLIANT ‼️ it's very true you give the best interviews ‼️ I'm so happy that you and Randy were not just band mates, but great friends as well, and I'm glad that you are so happy in your craft ‼️what a wonderful person you are to be a guardian angel for dogs and animals~~🙏🏻 God Bless you ~~🕊️⭐🎶🎵🎼
Doing your job well really can pay off! What a great guy and a hard worker! He always hit the right notes in the right places with the right feel and apparently people took notice.
Is great to hear an interview with Rudy Sarzo. The guy has just done so much, and is such an inspiration to us bass players out there. I love his bass lines
Wow that was quite visceral for me the whole 80's thing Rudy mentioned after sharing those heavy memories that came to pass for me was the like the perfect segway to bringing everything into focus in an incredibly profound way...I mean not only can I relate to the story in my own way but Rudy has been part of my life profoundly thru the music and this experience is like hearing it all again for the first time but with a meaning that I dont have the capacity to describe in words...Inspired and motivated come to mind but more than anything I am really excited about where the music goes from here and hopefully catch one of the shows maybe get a chance to say thanks...
What an amazing person / performer / down to earth rocker that put in some years a good friend of ours offered me his life story ( his music and demo's) that were never released she said that she thought he wouldn't mind if she passed them over to me but i never had the chance to pick them up "great times " .....Randall james
I met his brother Robert. We were on the same bill playing at the Keystone Palo Alto Ca. Opening for Rick Derringer. He was playing for a band called Hurricane, I was in the opening band. Robert and I talked at the bar and what a cool guy. He even gave me his personal phone number and when I get to LA come and see him. I never took him up on it but it was cool to meet him. So humble
This brought tears to my eyes 👀. My bf and me played quiet riot during the eighty's and the original quiet riot band. We lived in Boston north closer to New Hampshire ,so it flipping cold out in November . And we be driving the city in a 1968 442 Oldsmobile convertible. Top down 25°maybe 29° blaring quiet riot drinking bud bombers throwing the can at an asshole behind us. He did something but yeah my friend and me both on Halloween masks on like full head masks we looked crazy i fuckin loved it!! My friend died but I always had fun at a quiet riot concert 😂
Rudy Sarzo un verdadero orgullo para todos los latinos, un ídolo, un sobreviviente, un ejemplo a seguir, saludos de Argentina Rodolfo Maximiliano Sarzo !!!!
Rudy's a cool person. God bless him. One comment: Good music doesn't necessarily appeal to the masses. Sometimes it happens that way of course but not necessarily.
Im old enough to remember when there was no Q.R. or Ozzy solo career or Mtv or internet for that matter. Back in the early 80's these guys had a tremendous influence on music and basically invented the scene. Q.R. opened the door and proved that metal/hard rock would sell. Now by the late 80's and early 90's the record companies and drugs had destroyed the scene, but when it started it was pure as any grudge scene ever was. I picked ip guitar in about 1988 or 1989 and wanted to take it back to the roots of hard rock and all of the "grudge bands wanted the same" they may not admit it now but we wanted to be like the early hard rock bands, and not like the cookie cutter bands of the late 80's. G&R successful brought down the false metal bands but drugs and the fact that they started believing there own hype(Axle) ruined it. Van Halen was a pioneering hard rock band but now is lumped into the whole hair band thing, which is sad. Hopefully music will change and metal / hard rock will take its rightful place at the top. But live Q.R. was great sounded like the album without backing tracks. I miss the hot summer night tours that came every year. Every few weeks a big touring band would come to town.
Like your comment. I was introduced to Rudy while he was working with Whitesnake. Awesome guy. Just wanted to throw that in. 😂 but I also feel radio stations changing their format also contributed to rock music taking a dive. People didn't stop loving rock, hard rock and metal. Just other stuff was being played and MTV was right there switching up too. Thank God Slaughter got in before the switch.
for a guy who lived in CUBA for nine years and i'm sure speaks Spanish today , but why does he STILL have an Spanish accent after 60+ years of being around British and American's ? kind of like LAR'S been here all his life but...... i grew up all over the world mostly Europe and i have a north American accent , I'm Canadian , interesting

LOL I know, the kids can not comprehend no cell phones and internet, it's funny even trying to explain. They do not have the ability to even listen. When the entire establishment and systems go down, they are going to FREAK.
Rudy is a real survivor.
Rudy was the best part of the new RR documentary. He comes across as very down to earth and intelligent.

Rudy has the distinction of appearing on multiple album covers that he didn't play on. Doesn't mean that I love him any less!
I met Rudy once in passing in L.A. briefly and I could tell he was a great gentleman, he really made me think, there are sill good people on our planet 🎸🤘🎶🎼🖤🙏
I met Rudy at Dee Rhoads Randy’s Mom’s funeral. Very very nice guy and I’d have to sat humble. Thank you Rudy.

Yes! 🤘🙌
No substance abuse with Rudy. His memory and recollections are impeccable and specifically accurate.
I saw Rudy with Quite Riot in the early 80's in Maine was one of the best concerts I've ever seen Sarzo was incredible

So you played with Vivian Campbell in Whitesnake
Didn't know Rudy played with white snake, was Vivian Campbell there at the time
Rudy was in Whitesnake from 1987 - 1994. Vivian was there the first year.
Did i miss the part on why Carlos isn't playing with them?
Rudy was the last Bass player for Angel!!!

I thought there was a hard cover of his book too.
Not sure. I prefer hard cover books but could only find paperback.
I finally bought the paperback, but my holdout was wanting the hardcover, I looked for years online.
I miss the original Slaughter it's not the same without Tim Kelly and Blas Elias
Ive told people that garth brooks was gay. Had them call my a lier. Then they see him, the way he walks the way he talks, look at him u cant unsee it. Fake. A character.
Never ever seen a base player, pick from the top
Also had his string fingers at the top as well, awesome!!!
Thats how my family had to escape the then communist yugoslavia. Then later i had a Bf that escape Mosambique hat way
Im retiring.
Thank God Rudy didnt get on that plane with randy

Quiet Riot were dreadful, even with Randy who was just amazing
Bob Daisley was much better. Rudy never seemed to get in the groove.
With Ozzy's band? I prefer Daisley also. And it was a scumbag move by Sharon to replace him and Kerslake
