Or he was so appalled by her statement that he took extra caution to bite his tongue, lest by saying anything a normal person would say in response to such a statement, he accidentally say anything that could be twisted upon appeal.
Her statement disgusted me! When she started out with that Japanese pottery, I knew where she was going and rolled my eyes so hard! She really thought she was being intellectual. And then to blame everyone but herself. So self-centered.
@@jillruben8924 Seems like she's using God and religion to try to manipulate the court into a lighter sentence. Narcissists notoriously use religion as a tool. SB even said she wanted to draw more people to her. If she really got God and Jesus she'd be wanting to draw people to Jesus, not herself.

Our expectations for her were low, but HOLY SH*T! No, seriously: I absolutely knew that Sarah would not accept any responsibility and would also not be able to just say that she maintains her being not guilty while otherwise shutting up (because she is literally unable to do either) - but even with that firm expectation, this statement still surprised and shocked me. Even with the narcissistic personality and the inability to ever shut the f*ck up, it was still a CHOICE to go this full on scorched earth with it. There was ZERO reason to dunk on the media, the police, the family and whoever else during this. And then to do it in such a hateful way that doesn't even argue anything for your case or sentence... Even bloody Jodi Arias managed to say sorry for the death that occured, even if she didn't directly say it was her fault. And that woman FOUGHT tooth and nail with the prosecutor on the stand for days. I don’t believe a word she says. This was one of the most vile things I have ever witnessed. What everyone should do now is forget she exists and no longer give her the platform and attention she so desperately craves. She is also in for a rude awakening in prison because fellow inmates are not going to fall for her manipulation like people who are transient in jail or desperate for a true crime penpal. GOOD RIDDANCE.
Sarah's speech was quintessential Sarah. Judge K's statement (or lack thereof) was quintessential Judge K. And Sarah could not have asked for a better advocate than Owens. It was the ending she deserved. Fully heard, fully represented, full justice served.
@lorigreen4134 Owens jumped in head first without testing the water. I don't think he would have taken the case if he had reviewed the evidence before passing the point of no return. He takes her word as gospel. He didn't stop to think why the other attorneys wouldn't agree to her defense strategy.
@@doom4067oh that didn't matter. It was free advertisement for his law firm. "Look everyone! Look how hard I'm defending this repulsive client!" @@doom4067 I disagree; I think Owens knew in advance that it would be a nightmare situation & a losing case (though he probably thought the judge would grant at least one more continuance, so that was a surprise). But I just think he really believes in giving people the best defence possible, and wanted to ensure that Sarah had that. Both for her sake and the reputation of the justice system in general. It would have been messier (and set up more appellate issues) to let Sarah go fully pro se after the judge had warned her with a 'maybe' instead of 'definitely'. Owens saved the justice system from the appearance of having compromised Sarah's rights. I'm not saying the judge DID compromise Sarah's rights, just that it could have LOOKED more like it if she'd been up there genuinely all alone fumbling through courtroom stuff. The justice system must not only BE just, but must be SEEN to be just. That Sarah effectively had professional legal representation in that courtroom, makes the optics less murky and will hopefully make the appeals process cleaner.) Thank you for going to the trial and giving us insight into what was happening in the courtroom. Especially the parts about the Torres family walking out during Sarah's... thing. I'm very glad that they didn't stick around and let her abuse them more. The bit about some jurors coming to watch the sentencing was interesting too. Oddly enough, the part of Sarah's speech that I keep coming back to, was her blaming social media for the verdict. Does she really think that _any_ jury could believe that she was the abused party after seeing all the evidence that came out during the prosecution's rebuttal? Infamy wasn't the problem, Sarah. Even if you had been completely obscure before and during the trial, no jury would have believed that you were the abused party after seeing the rebuttal videos and texts. Those videos (many of which were taken by Sarah) _showed_ Jorge while he was drunk. They showed that he was depressed, emaciated, respectful, and obedient. More importantly, they showed that Sarah was _not even a little bit afraid_ of him. Quite the opposite.
The strange, lofty, almost smug tone of voice she is using is absolutely mind blowing. She speaks as if shes reading a robert frost poem, like each word is a profound truth bomb. I am truly happy for this trial to end.

If George did all that damage to the condo (breaking windows, kicking in doors, etc.) then wouldn't the complex have been involved in the repairs? Did any of that information ever come into evidence?
Of course not. I think some of the domestic violence was probably true but I think it was mutually combative and they were crazy drunks. It was her condo, she had money from alimony, she had a car, they didn’t have kids together, she had a no contact order on him but there was proof she texted him over and over. No evidence from the apt complex came in and all the abuse was from her mouth. So many of her videos were very telling and her ex said she was a violent drunk.

She had all the power, the money, the condo, the cash, she destroyed his birth certificate and SS card, she had the phone, and she was an alcoholic prior to meeting Jorge. Sarah started her pre sentencing statement with “i would like to forgive the person i murdered for all the damage they cause” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 so glad i watched that live. UNBELIEVABLE. like actually unbelievable
@ it was astonishing. She is so narcissistic she just couldn’t sit not leave that room without one more attempt to victimize herself. With her life on the line that was the most important thing to her. I honestly believe she talked herself into a harsher sentence
The three things that stood out to me: 1. Sarah: Jorge was a monster. (Five seconds later) Sarah: I will see him in heaven one day. 2. Sarah repeating "Forgive me" at the family, not in the tone of a request, but as a demand. 3. After the dozen or so videos she took of herself abusing Jorge, Owens tries to salvage her narrative by saying "…well, there was abuse against her, but that half didn't get caught on camera."
Plus „the other half“ we didn’t see before the videos started where she pushed all the buttons of Jorge, where she harassed and attacked him until he had to fight back. I still believe, Jorge tried to leave her for good this time, tried to pack his suitcase and this monster smashed him unconscious with the baseball bat, put him into the suitcase to get rid of her victim but was horrified, that he didn’t die, so she tortured him, waiting for his tragic and cruel death and then tried to get Brian to help her but Brian finally said NO to her! Wot teletype sentence less than life, she would have been fortunate to not be punished for all this but as long as life means life… She only has one life, so there is that. She was lucky enough, that all this could not be proven but at least the outcome doesn’t make a difference
Didn't she say something about needing the car to pick up her son in the morning? Bringing him up like that was even more of a dagger to the heart for me. Made it sound like he was a chore to her.
@YunaElphabaLovegood true & she said something about Jorge beating her on her sons pillow. But both times he was mentioned was to make Jorge the bad guy. No statement or apology or even her twisted "forgiveness" crap towards her boy. So sad.
SB was condemned by all the videos she made, revealing who she really is, that Jorge was meek and submissive while intoxicated, and her use of the legal system against him, how he suffered in his final minutes alive. She showed herself to be a monster. EDIT: In her speech, she's angry, unremorseful, victim blaming, and, as always, it's all about her.
I don't believe she was abused! She either self inflicted those wounds to set him up, or fell down drunk, even stabbing herself in the leg, and blaming Jorge! Each time he was arrested, he had no idea what they meant when they told him it was for domestic violence! I believe she used it as a tool to control Jorge, and make him do whatever she wanted...or feel her wrath! She's pure evil, and if she ever got out of jail, no one would be safe from her manipulation!
About halfway through the trial, I started to think that all her stories simply have the roles reversed. She did not convinced me otherwise at sentencing.
Wow, Peter!!!! You were there in person!! 😄👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 I’m so impressed! That’s so cool that you got to speak to Owens too! Regarding the sentencing, I am SO relieved that the judge sentenced her to life! She did not have any legitimate litigation arguments at all in my opinion. Her “I’m sorry” was very shallow. She still maintains to this day that SHE is the victim, which is astonishing to me. Justice for Jorge!
Regarding the "Unsophisticated Manner", I would argue that she DID make an attempt to cover up the crime- she absolutely tried to get Brian over there before calling 911, considering she couldn't move him on her own, so she might have tried but couldnt get any help.
Agreed. I was wondering what she would have done if Brian had been willing to help her! Thankful he had the sense to distance himself immediately after seeing what had happened to Jorge.
Ironically, despite her accusations of severe abuse, the videos we saw were incriminating to her. She exhibited disdain, condescension and rude behavior to Jorge over and over. The absurd amount of injuries she outlined were not confirmed by the hospitals in the area. She is disingenuous I'm afraid.
And if there was even a single video or text demonstrating Jorge’s violence or abuse you know Owen’s would have trotted it out. What did he show? Jorge knocking the phone out of her hand after she was getting in his face? Smashing a busted tv while she watched and videod the fun? The texts I saw were her pleading with him to return her, clearly in a drunken pity party. Who was forcing her to get blitzed out then?

Dang Peter, this was exciting to watch! Great job! This will not be the end of SB. I think we all know that. Have to say I was stunned to hear her words of forgiveness to "everyone". But, as Mr. Owens said -- it's her time to say what she wants. I'm surprised she let him edit some things out. I went into this hoping she got life, but was swayed a bit and talked myself into being ok with her gettinc 25-40. Then she gave her statement and my first thought was "Oh, shes getting life now".
Same! Right after the verdict I believed she was getting life. Most people were saying 25-40yrs, so I tried to prepare myself for that, but after that disgusting speech, i was like whew....she gettin LIFE!
WOW. Unbelievable. She caused so much harm to herself through the years in jail. All the letters, lawyers who found her too difficult to work with, she just makes her situation worse.
As a victim of a narcissist, I feel bad for the friend who advocated for Sarah. To me, promising a kidney sounded like classic future faking. It’s easy to make grandiose promises like that, especially when it’s clear there’s a vanishingly small chance she would have to actually follow through.
The person who wrote that letter seemed very vulnerable, so of course SB would glom on to them. Why would you be impressed with a drunks kidney? Why would you think kindly if someone who heard their partner suffocating and did nothing? I definitely think a certain type of person would overlook all her issues once she's nice to them.
She is utterly abhorrent. Ripping everyone apart and spouting a bunch of evil shit, painting other people as the bad guys, saying they're forgiven, and acting like she's an innocent bystander. I hope she never gets out on appeal.
As i was listening to SB's diatribe, i thought that if i were a member of Jorge's family in that courtroom, i would have to remove myself. I'm not at all surprised they did and am glad that SB saw them walk away.

I knew judge kraynick was fed up when he didn't even give a speech. He MAY have written a speech, but perhaps got so fed up after hearing boones statement that he wanted to get straight to the point and never see her again
Or he was so appalled by her statement that he took extra caution to bite his tongue, lest by saying anything a normal person would say in response to such a statement, he accidentally say anything that could be twisted upon appeal.
To be honest, I think he was fed up before the trial began, as that was a drama too
I feel like he knew she'd try and leverage it at appeal ..and that she wanted the attention. I'm glad he kept it short
The speech from the woman with kidney issues was 100% written by Sarah. No doubt about it!
Everything Sarah said just made me even more certain that she belongs in jail for the rest of her life.
She’s found God. She should want to stay there and will!

Well said. What made it worse was the way Owens coddled her instead of bringing her to the truth about herself and lack of responsibility. Owens could not even call it a murder. @lorigreen4134 Owens jumped in head first without testing the water. I don't think he would have taken the case if he had reviewed the evidence before passing the point of no return. He takes her word as gospel. He didn't stop to think why the other attorneys wouldn't agree to her defense strategy.

Ugh. Listening to him attempt to preach for TWO HOURS right before his sentencing was agony.
The three things that stood out to me:
She called him a monster and then said they were one soul in two bodies.
I am just absolutely dumbfounded with her speech!!!

She mentioned her dogs in her statement but did not once mention her son 😢
She’s mad at him because he doesn’t want to talk to her so he doesn’t count to her anymore.
That is happening disturbingly often these days, not just in her case...
The one time she didn’t weaponize her son…
EDIT: She comes across as angry, unremorseful, victim blaming, and making it all about her.
(~ 51:00) Oh, that's RICH! 🤮
Absolutely! And, not a single video of Jorge abusing her. Vile, evil repugnant creature.
@@doom4067 It's what a true narcissitic sociopath does, they flip the story and make it all the other persons fault.
The same logic that rejected the plea deal must have shaped her final statements.
She really thought she had this didn’t she 😂
That wasn’t logic, that was purely ego
Still can’t believe she rejected that plea 😂 I mean that was her ONLY shot. Wtf did she not understand???
thank you
@@SAV5855 SB didn't understand what all her legal counsel, including Owns understood, that with all the evidence she needed to take the plea.
I look forward to seeing what Dreading does with this!!
it'll take a couple of weeks but oh boy is that on my watchlist
Regarding the "Unsophisticated Manner", I would argue that she DID make an attempt to cover up the crime- she absolutely tried to get Brian over there before calling 911, considering she couldn't move him on her own, so she might have tried but couldnt get any help.
Agreed. I was wondering what she would have done if Brian had been willing to help her! Thankful he had the sense to distance himself immediately after seeing what had happened to Jorge.
Agreed
My thought exactly. Brian refused to come in the house, which I think foiled her cover up plans.
I agree that your title is so perfect - she addressed THE WHOLE PLANET. I really can't fathom how anyone could be so spiteful.
It was an absolute pleasure meeting you in court. You truly are a gem to the law tube community. Thank you for the shoutout. I hope our paths will cross again in the future. Jules
I really appreciate your balanced commentary on this one. When I listened to her statement yesterday, I was floored, and I was anxious to hear your take on it. Thank you for the video.
She is literally the worst person ever. Her speeches literally made me nauseous. I swear i hope his family is ok
Can't imagine having the opportunity to serve 10 years compared to life without parole and blowing it
Her wounded ego is not happy.
All because she couldn’t accept responsibility and say sorry. Didn’t even have to mean it. Just had to say it.
I'm glad because she's dangerous. Very manipulative.
imagine how many times she is going to wake up in the morning, and that is her first thought.
it's wonderful.
@lindsayo9702 wouldn't have even had to apologize. Just admit that she carried out the action that she filmed herself doing.
This judge is great imo
For months, I've looked forward to Judge Kraynik's colloquy at her sentencing, but this was actually better: he was almost dismissive of her.
Sarah seems to thrive on outrage: it fuels her sense of specialness. Today, she finally got to be just one more violent felon adjudicated as such.
Rest in peace, Jorge
✨️
Dang Peter, this was exciting to watch! Great job! This will not be the end of SB. I think we all know that. Have to say I was stunned to hear her words of forgiveness to "everyone". But, as Mr. Owens said -- it's her time to say what she wants. I'm surprised she let him edit some things out. Domestic violence is real and affects all people regardless of culture, etc. Prayers for Jorge's family. Again, thank you so much for all you do for us. I have learned so very much from you (and your subscribers/members). You are the best!
One of the most heartbreaking moments during the sentencing was hearing the sister talk about being unable to fully zip up suitcases. That was so sad.
So she literally thought that the victim statement meant that she had to talk about her being the victim 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ I'm sure I'm not the only person that's pointed this out but I couldn't resist
😂😂😂😂
She also still thinks that the judge and the court are different people. She had no inhibitions attacking the judge because it's the court that decides her sentence.
@@doom4067I think she probably did try to attack judge K in her “acceptance speech” but her lawyer crossed it out during his editing.
I was so appalled by her statement that I had to get up and take a walk before getting to the actual sentencing
Same! I was stress eating all afternoon. Im outraged. This woman is so disturbed. Im so confused… she drags everyone then asked them all to forgive her?🤨
I went into this hoping she got life, but was swayed a bit and talked myself into being ok with her gettinc 25-40.
Then she gave her statement and my first thought was "Oh, shes getting life now".
Exactly
Same..
Goodbye finally Sarah. Thank you Judge Kraynik ❤
As a victim of a narcissist, I feel bad for the friend who advocated for Sarah. To me, promising a kidney sounded like classic future faking. It’s easy to make grandiose promises like that, especially when it’s clear there’s a vanishingly small chance she would have to actually follow through.
That's Sarah's way of bargaining with God for a lighter sentence.
And the recipient had no way of establishing whether or not Boone's kidney would have been a match!
She spouted this to get someone to speak in court for her imo.
Who would want her alcohol-pickled kidney!
Oh. My. Gosh. I have no words for what Sarah Boon is saying. Speechless.
She is utterly abhorrent. Ripping everyone apart and spouting a bunch of evil shit, painting other people as the bad guys, saying they're forgiven, and acting like she's an innocent bystander. I hope she never gets out on appeal.
She’s nuts! I hope we never see her face again. Great coverage Peter.
As i was listening to SB's diatribe, i thought that if i were a member of Jorge's family in that courtroom, i would have to remove myself. I'm not at all surprised they did and am glad that SB saw them walk away.
