  • Skyline Baron Pilot is flying to KLNA to Upgrade our Avionics with the following:
    - Avidyne IFD 550 and IFD 540, AMX240 Audio panel, AXP340 Transponder, AXP322 Remote Transponder and Skytrax 200 dual band ADS-B IN receiver.
    All the work was done at Sarasota Avionics.

    A little unnerving to see how many wires it takes to run an airplane. Like the way you painted your nails to match the Avidyne logo. Adds a little fun to the project. Certainly appreciate what you are showing. Always fun to fly with you. Thanks for sharing!

    Good morning Val. Good morning Eric! Ich verstehe das nicht, just kidding. Love the green nails, favorite color. You are just OCD Val, and it works too. Eric is very attentive. How did the crack in your windshield occurred? Whoa, that's a major upgrade process! That had to be a real eye opener of what is contained behind the linings. This is an amazing process along with being a good education about installation locations, and I am sure it wasn't cheap either. And Eric watching over the whole process as well. Thanks for the video, and will be looking forward to Part 2.

    This series is just getting better and better.
    More information, great editing and a view of the naked interior of a plane that certainly belies its age.
    You must be really pleased with how the Baron looked when everything was stripped out.
    I also enjoyed the new camera position by your elbow during the flight, it gave a really clear view of the instrumentation.
    BTW That storm cell looked really dangerous - its that a common hazard in Florida?
    I look forward to the next instalments.

    Cool Video. Its amazing that they take the entire interior apart and put it all back together again. Id have too many parts left over lol. Hope your thumb feels better. My new pup is doing well but my hands and ankles are pin cushions. So I lived in Canada for 5 years as a wee boy and had to learn French but no way am I fluent. Are you from Quebec or France. I love French its such an awesome language. Thank you for sharing these videos, totally awesome.

    So good to see you Capt. Valerie! Love the sound of those engines starting up…never disappoints! Question, are the cowl flaps what we see on the underbelly from the under the tail mounted camera?     What is the average landing distance on a grass runway that’s wet versus dry runway in a 58 Baron? I know weight has a lot to do with the calculations along with flat settings, but I was just curious because I’ve never landing a Baron on grass yet. I don’t know if my POH has a section for that.

      You can find all that information in the POH. A lot a variables on the 58TC

      @@SkylineBaronPilot Of all the Baron-derivative airplanes the only models that have grass runway takeoff and landing data in the Pilot's Operating Handbook are the 58P and 58TC. That’s why I asked. Not all of us have 58P and 58TC Barons.

    Ended too soon, Val. The VFR flight looked demanding with the comms and looking outside your Windows to check for other traffic.

      @@SkylineBaronPilot I do not own any aircraft, Val. I Am an air transport regulation consultant and deal with compliance and safety issues. I am also a sms and human factors instructor. I am not a pilot and never flown in a GA aircraft.
      I previously served on the board of the Government run flying school here in Uganda. It owns a Baron B58 not TC, with Garmin 1000. it also uses C172 sky hawk, C172L and C310 for pilot training.
      I am planning to embark on PPL and CPL training next year.
      Fingers crossed.....
