Thats awesome! For some of the bigger panels try smoothing it out with some dry brushing if you're going to try this method out. Would love to see it when you're done!
Yes and no. Yes, if you Recess shade with the wash it will define those lines which and will look fantastic! But when you use the thinner you can control where you're pulling the wash off and how much you're getting rid of so you can create some subtle fades/gradients which can smooth out some of the roughness of the stippling
@@heresyforheretics so the main difference is that you can make a more "gradient look"? But you also tone down the color right? It becomes less saturated
@aegishjalmur123 exactly! You can also use any other colours. If you want more grimdark and less saturation you can do that from the start with the colour choice. We're just big fans of magenta around here 😅
Literally couldn't be better timing.
I'm buying my first ever knight and I'm painting it purple. Adding this to watch later.

@@heresyforheretics now since I'm a cheap ass could I get away with airbrushing the panels abbadon black instead of the spray?
Absolutely love the effects you get with your minis. I think it's true that the simpler paint jobs can be lower stress!
Can take it back to being fun and stave off that dreaded hobby burn out

The wash would have the same effect if you only apply it on the reccess and without the thinner??
