Am I the only one who's noticed that it has become a bit of a tradition for the TMNT franchise to cast Star Trek alumni in supporting roles? Secret of the Ooze had David Warner, the 2007 film had Patrick Stewart, and the 2014 film had Whoopi Goldberg. And it's not just the movies - the Triceratons in the 2012 show are voiced by Michael Dorn. That's just awesome. Granted, it does beg the question how no one has thought to cast George Takei as the voice of Splinter yet, but I digress. Another great ranking video, Adam. Looking forward to the next one.
I really love Rise of the TMNT Movie and Mutant Mayhem. To me, I really really love how much they really contrast and yet reinforce the themes of togetherness. In Rise, I like how the world is already shown to be accepting of mutants relatively, and grounds the characters to their very core of being loyal and supportive of family at all times no matter what happens in the world. While Mutant Mayhem does not yet have the full family dynamics between the brothers yet, but they manage to strive for heroism despite their desires for having more in their lives. I overall dig the push of the Mutant part of teenage mutant ninja turtles in recent tmnt media lately.
10:03 - 11:11 It's funny you bring up Charles and Danny's family dynamic along with Splinter and the Turtles. Growing up, after seeing this, I saw a similar dynamic shown in Fox's Spider-Man: The Animated Series, in the two parter, Tombstone, between Joseph "Robbie" Robertson from The Daily Bugle, and his son, Randy, who was part of a street gang, The Posse. It's revealed later on, The Posse works for the criminal, Tombstone, whom Robbie used to know during his childhood and younger years. Much like in TMNT (1990), you see how Randy claims his own father doesn't care about him because he's swamped with work at the Bugle, but when Robbie discovers his son is mixed up with his old friend turned super criminal, he's willing to put his reputation and career on the line to save him and take down Tombstone, while The Posse immediate ditches out on Randy when the cops show up. My favorite line of dialogue is during the final fight, when Spider-Man shows up to help Robbie, and show Randy how much his father cares. Tombstone: "👿You think you've got such a great son. 😈It sure didn't take much to get *him* into the gang!" Robbie: "😡No one talks about Randy that way! I'm gonna take you down once and for all, even if I have to go with you!" Tombstone: "👿And how do you plan to do that?" Robbie: "Simple: *I'm* not afraid of the police!" 👇🖲🚨
I pretty much agree with most of this list. Unfortunately I hated Turtles Forever as a kid. It did however get me into the the classic show and I noticed that the Turtles were a bit goofy, but they weren’t annoying and actually took things more serious when the time called for it, especially Donnie & Leo. Behind the scenes, one of the writers, Emilio Lopez wanted to make them faithful to the 1st season, but couldn’t due to outside stuff out of his control. Had he done things his way and they managed to get the rights to the OG music and VAs, I guarantee this would’ve been on the top 5.
I am so glad that I am not the only one that hated both Bay films more than TMNT 3 (as bad as that movie is). Also, TMNT (1990) is one of the best comic book films ever.
4:12 Cool. From playing Aquaman in Smallville for a couple of eps to being Jack Reacher. Haven’t watched it yet, but I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.
I get not liking Rise of the TMNT the show, totally fair, especially if you have only watched the first few episodes... But I'mma gush about it anyways, to me the show started off on kinda a wobbly foot, and after coming off my favorite TMNT show, it was a real bummer to me. I stuck with it and my goodness, when Rise hits its stride it has some of the best writing in TMNT history, and easily my favorite action scenes in the franchise, not even close. It's not my favorite version but by the tracically cut short end, you can tell the deep love the creators have for the franchise, and thank GOD for the movie, because that show legitimately deserved way better than what the network gave it.
Great ranking as usual! I agree rise of the TMNT movie was much better than it had any right to be, though I’ll be fair and say the show did get better as it went along.
1. Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. Turtles Forever 3. 1990 (would be higher if the third act didn't suck) 4. TMNT 5. II: The Secret of the Ooze 6. Out of the Shadows 7. 2014 8. III Not seen the other two.
@@dredre_lj2003 Watch Geekvolutions Superhero Rewind revisited review of thr film, he perfectly addressed on how the Turtles story doesn't quite payoff in ways that it should.
Both Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) & Secret of the Ooze (1991) are my FAVORITE Movies of All-Time, Michelangelo's my FAVORITE Turtle🧡🐢, and these movies introduced me to my FAVORITE Food Pizza🍕
I would love 2007 if Leo wasn't such a whiny hypocrite to Raph about vigilantism. Not to mention it seemed what they were trying to put forward was that Raph wasn't ready to be on his own but they couldn't communicate that well because it isn't like Raph is like when they met Casey where he's a raging psycho who wants to kill left and right, as the Nightwatcher he's a very productive vigilante. It made no sense why the Kevin Smith guy was cowering in fear seeing Raph other than comedy because there was nothing to substantiate that Raph was a bad guy.
12:23 Or as any fan of Samurai Jack will tell you, has one of the most chilling and terrifying voices on the planet.
Man tmnt 2007 is so underrated
Real
That was the first TMNT Movie that I watched in a theater & I continue to love it!
It’s movie that introduced me to ninja turtles.

killed gray gorillas with a diamond
-laser gun in *"CONGO"* was wasted in *"Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadows".*
