Actually, Spidey doesn't kill the people that are thrown off of ledges or rooftops. If you watch closely after they fall a bit, they're webbed to the side of the building.
thats one of the many details insomniac put in the game that is amazing.
It's pretty easy to miss since Spider-Man doesn't actually do it himself, it just happens magically.
Josh Martin yeah but you know spiderman doesnt kill so if you throw someone off the building you go like "i thought he doesnt kill" then you look down and see the enenmy on the wall

I've definitely landed hard enough on pedestrians that it *should* have killed them, though.
Some of his finisher moves are absolutely brutal. hard to believe some of those aren't killing folks.
Did anyone notice that when peter is on the phone and starts web swinging fast or enters action, the voice acting smoothly changes to fit the more intense scenario? I thought that was a nice touch

Yeah except i was never on the phone while normally walking so i just assumed his talking would go back to normal
They had him record his voice-overs twice, once for when he is standing or walking and once when he is swinging and the game switches that on the fly, even if you were swinging then land, it will switch halfway through the voice over.
I also really love how if you fast travel while peter's on the phone, the call will recommence after you get off the subway and the dialogue will match as well; peter says something like "sorry about that, you were saying?"
The webswinging is just incredible. The constant combination of swinging, wall running and webzipping. It’s so good.

It’s not that incredible...It’s repetitive and Peter makes the same acrobatic moves and the web sometimes comes from the sky.
Also the wall crawling is very clunky
At first I thought the web swinging was underwhelming *until* I realized just how easily I was traversing through the city. Also, the fact that I only used fast travel enough to unlock the trophy says alot too.

It is fantastic to see the positive influence that the Arkham games have had to resurrect a well loved hero like Spiderman. I loved the trailer for this game and looking at the game play confirms my belief that this is going to be an instant classic. Also it great to see the makers of Ratchet and Clank progressing and making something so bold and equally fantastic. Great even review
Resurrect? I think you are mistaken, unlike Batman video games, Spider-Man video games as a whole are more hit than miss. Web Of Shadows, Shattered Dimensions, 2, Ultimate Spider-Man are all very good titles, when there was almost nothing for Batman games until Arkham Asylum came out.

The Arkham games definitely did take some notes from Spider-Man 2 though. The stealth system however is what the Arkham games did so well.

I mean obviously I already have some games I personally was already gonna get day 1, such as this game, Red Dead 2, and Kingdom Hearts 3. But watching these is still very nice, and hypes me up for the games. And the fact that they are over 10 minutes long is definitely a good thing. You get to take your time and go over everything. Top reviewer imo.

I actually never go to gaming sites anymore for reviews. I have a few favorites here on youtube that hit the mark on things you want to know and... more importantly, are objective and realistic in their expactations. ACG is one of them. I wished he did more PS4 games tho :), because that's the only thing I own and play games on.
I like reviews that just give me the information I need: pro's and con's, so I can form an opinion of my own, not be forced to take their opinion.

The game took me awhile to win. I was swinging everywhere and didn't use fast travel either and did a number of side quests and tried to get the highest score in challanges a couple times
Also. As some have pointed out at times spidy sticks a tether to a badguy when he tosses him off a wall. But due to the amount of combat and where it occurs. The number of times this doesn't happen is incredibly high lol. Or if you do a finisher and some of them don't have tethers either and you can see them fall all the way down. Just an FYI

I know it’s early but I hope they do a trilogy like the Arkham games
Dylan Vela based on the reviews I’ve seen including ACGs, insomniac are setting up the world in this game for a trilogy.
Forget a trilogy, I want the same number of Spiderman games as MCU Movies. 19 of them, all coming out over the next 40 years, all made by Insomniac, dealing with the multiverse, Miles Spidey, Sure, ill take an origin story in like 6 years.
After insomniac saw how well god of war sold since it was just a story game. So after that they saw all the preorders and predicted sales numbers they started talking about a sequel.
A sequel for Spider-Man is still a looooooooonnnnnnngggggg way out because they probably want to do another racthet and clank or maybe even another resistance or a smaller title like song of the deep 2.
Right now they are working on a VR title called stormland so I'm sure that is what they are foucusing is right now.

Omg that iGN review was disgusting!! I have the game and I can genuinely say he is talking pure shit! Best graphics I’ve ever seen on an open world game! If gta is any better then this all I can say is the future looks “Amazing” Spider-Man is the new bench mark straight up in a lot of ways. Get it if u don’t have it yet. Thank you for your review because it is what this game deserves. 20/10 for me so far lolz

You can remove the motion blur and the grainy filter in the options for hte release version of the game, it makes it look 100x better.

When you throw an enemy from a building, there’s an animation of a trip mine sticking them to a nearby wall, it’s not ignored.

Can you role play as Peter at all? You know, just walk around inconspicuous, take pictures, and eventually have the option to put on the mask and jump into action (Infinity War anyone?). The character and the depth of his story and personality is what makes him my favorite of all Marvel heroes.
I know it confirm you'll be able to play Peter and that there alot of missions where you can play Peter and walk around in open world etc, that's all they said tho. Idk about switching from Peter to spiderman whenever you want
I did some research and found that if you throw an enemy off a building, they actually stick to the building using some sort of web sensor thingy. Nice detail by insomniacs
One of my favorite things of this game are gathering the backpacks and the landmarks photos. It feels like such a Spider-Man thing and his comments are awesome

Having played the game, I can say Insomniac Spider-Man is the Spider-Man game that we all need after a long time absence of good open-world Spidey games. Not finished the story yet but I love how the characters are handled. I love the combat system even though I hope more improvements in future games for the stealthing part. It's not perfect, but it is a high-end Spidey game finally.
My only unsettled thing from the game is still the web-swinging, since I am a hardcore fan of the SM2's real time physics in web-swinging. Don't get me wrong, I like how Insomniac gives all the nice tricks and new ways in traversing the city buildings. I love that spinnings that Spidey do between swings. I love that plunge when falling down. I love the interactiveness of the environment for Spidey to keep going on. I just really really wish a next open-world Spidey game (finger-crossing for a sequel still from Insomniac) that can combine Insomniac's smart ways and tricks of swinging and running and launching around buldings with the real-time physics web-swinging used in SM2 that makes me really feel the gravity. Or to say it in a simple way, I want Insomniac's web-swinging system but with physics like the SM2 one. Video reference to what I'm talking about: ruclips.net/video/6q1jZQbV2Wk/видео.html
If that's applied, it'll open to possibilities like seeing web-swinging accidents animated based on physics (I mean, not just objects colliding in the game) when Spidey hit cars if swinging too low but too fast to response, or splatted into surfaces when we hit it 90 degree angle and too close with it to trigger the web-zip or wall-running. It'll be the game that shows you failure if you do wrong but make you be cool if you done it right, no safe-nets. Kinda like driving in GTA games. And it'd be more cool if there are techniques we can do in the game to recover mid-air from web-swinging failures.

ACG - Damn, hoped de-activating the Chromatic Aberration/Motion Blur would pull some of the mentioned Vaseline off the image (e.g. Dying Light, Alien: Isolation, RE7, etc). My eyes will just have to adjust I guess.

The details in this game are incredible. For instance, during any voicover "calls" he gets that contain back and forth dialogue between spidey and an npc, the voice acting changes based on whether you are stationary or moving. If you're slinging across rooftops while he's talking, his breath becomes labored and strained. Those little details make me happy

I don't think that I have ever commented on one of your videos before. So I would like to begin by thanking you for your years worth of truly fantastic content. I'd like to echo what many viewers state on almost every video of yours I have seen. You are consistently the best reviewer on RUclips, and perhaps in all gaming media these days. So again. . . cheers.
Cheekily, I have a request, and even though I know that I have absolutely zero right to ask anything of you, and that my request will only be welcomed by a tiny minority of gamers, i'm going to make it anyway.
I'd absolutely love it if you could include HUD options in your reviews. I like to play with as little HUD as possible, and sometimes (not in this case) the ability to turn off a HUD completely can ultimately decide whether I buy a game or not. An example of this being me not buying Mafia III due to it having no HUD options whatsoever. Luckily for me, Sony gave it to us on PS+ recently anyway.
I find I have to go to a certain games sub-reddit and ask the specific question as it is something that all reviewers I come across fail to cover. Obviously, if you don't feel that it is worth it, or that it would take up too much time, or that it would turn other viewers off then ignore me. I'm doubtful you'll even see this comment anyway with there being so many.

When an enemy is kicked/thrown of a roof, A safety web will automatically activate, and pin to the nearest surface, usually to the side of said building.
Love the video. Honestly. I’ve never really felt the need to comment this on a good video but this video obviously had a lot of effort put into it with it’s wonderfully humorous analogies, organization, details, scripting, and so much more. Do any of the side quests get locked out as the story progresses like the Arkham games used to? Dont want to miss on content but ibalso dont like grinding challenges in games like this to make sure i dont miss anything.
