Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, Master of the French Academy, Overcoming the Establishment

Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres was the standard bearer for the very pinnacle of Artistic standards, he clung to the lofty works of Raphael and was a natural draughtsman who electrified the art of drawing to a new level.
His skill as an instructor gave him a loyal following of grateful students as they ventured into the art circles of Paris. His road to stardom was very rough but his victory was sweet when the art world finally caught up to him.

Thank you SO much for this wonderful short but precious documentary about this true genius. I have been to a rather small museum in the city of Toulouse where they had works from Ingres ., Jérome, it was truely fantàstic and almost unbelievable to actually see them "in the flesh' so to speak! Unforgettable experience. Do you also have one about Jérome ??
