Goooood morning Tommy. As usual a lack of maintenance, but thankfully nothing that can't be put right.
It seemed to go as expected.
Only 40s here in CT but has been warm enough to do outside work. Rebuilt my raised bed in my veggie garden. Also cleaned carb on my pole chainsaw, didnt wanna rev up properly
And good observation on the issue caused by the screw distance on the carb. It perhaps should have been thought of by the "Big Brained Briggs Design Engineers"
Great video! Nice tip @5:45 ACV and curious about the red coat now. Interesting
I started out using Red Kote on motorcycle gas tanks and it also works very well on the mower tanks.
Tommy I'd rather be working outside today rather than what I've got to do! Replacing a sewage ejector pump in my basement today. I like these Briggs Pulse jets, SO easy to work on and seems like they run forever.
Good luck today!
@@tommy-time5240 Yeah, I'll need it. I've done them before, but, with each passing year they get harder to do!!
@@lawrencecarroll2031 Hope it worked out for you today.
@@tommy-time5240 Thanks for asking Tommy! Yes, it was an uneventful job. Took me about 4 hours, that including going and getting a new pump. One I replaced was 15 years old; SO if this one lasts 15 years, I'll let the next occupant worry about it!! :)
@@lawrencecarroll2031 Glad it was a smooth process.
I have these stacked up 4 high in barn, the plan was to fix on weekends and when I retire
Well still stacking them and covered up with work, running out of strength in this 110 weather every day
Hang in there.
I found the same mower, it’s missing governor plate and even the throttle that moves near the carb, when I start it it has a rough and low Idle
Seriously NEGLECTED Mower. WOW... What Do You Say.. The Last Owner Did Not Take Care Of The Old Girl, That's For Sure. How Can You Treat It Like That & Expect It To Run..
This is what i get in to fix...everyone's junk that has been put to the street.
appreciate your efforts, but you are up against the B&S 'World' or 'Sprint' engine. Those things, they eat attention. If the head bolts around the exhaust valve don't back off & torch the headgasket, the cowling cuts though the intake pipe (JB Weld time). Then there's the screeching one-way clutch for the recoil starter. And of course the thimble-sized fuel tank, mandatory shut down to refill while trying to cut for 45 minutes straight. Oh my, just pull the wheels, bar & cable, maybe the starter cup off the flywheel & walk away.
Also, it's over full of oil because they drink it, poor oil control. Too expensive to keep running. : (
Quantum is 10x the powerplant. 10x less maintenance too. 10x more grass cut, with 10x less effort.
Long Live The Quantum! throw that thing in the ocean, provide a nice Tommy-Made Reef for whatever.
I have worked on mowers for 5+ years, this engine is a rock. Quantum good also! Honda lawn mowers are discontinued after September of this year- Thank God.
Every engine design has its issues. I just go with the flow and try and correct them as inexpensively as possible.
