  • You just need to understand that he cannot shield gate, if DE gives his overguard I frames in some way we won't need to resort to cheesy tactics such as vazarin. Would not reccomend it tho, the frame in normal types of missions is fine tho.

    I would buff Overguard. It's absolutely awful right now and adding it to other frames would make it dead in the water as a mechanic. So my priority would be buffing Overguard as a mechanic.
    To make it distinct from Shields, it'd have to work well enough without an "Overguard Gate". Since Eximus units get abilities, maybe something that does CC and Ability Efficiency:
    When Overguard is up: Increased Ability Efficiency, Range, Duration, Strength. Some combination or all.
    When Overguard Breaks: Instead of a gating, an actually useful stagger that gives you time to recast like mesmer skin any source of overguard.
    Shield and Health get Energy to Shield conversion, natural regen, and armor respectively. Overguard should be powerful but distinctly different. I'd make it support for casting and support for CC as a way to survive. The status immunity would be the cherry on top.

    Issue is, if enemy have overguard they get some bs dmg reduction. If we get it able to tank 1/10th of a dmg from enemy shot.
    But sadly if you have certain subsumes to make things works, frame is the option rather than subsume being the option.

    Hey Gaz, the key to this Kullervo is to build for over guard. once the Ovrguard is in place I guarantee you he is Immortal to any damage, and the over guard also stacks off the mele combo counter once the over guard is 2k+ it goes on upwards and is very hard to kill him even when standing still to revive someone. Hence no need for over shields. your are right to use Hunter Adrenaline and rage and that duration is useless, but in the video you only used his Health to survive, but in fat the key is critical melee combos x12 and the Maxed Overguard is da Beast! got mine up to 20k in Hydron Sedna he's Ash with speed poppers

    This video aged like Wine now that they Biffed him ...all of your suggestions (no matter how Nourish looked 😂) are really good ! On top of that because a good amount of them were "Under Construction" you leave room for preference improvement depending on the player...Good Job man seriously 👍💯

    I am so confused on why the hell did they cap his overguard to 5000, Rhino and Nezha can get their overguard to over a million(their buffs turned into overguard)
    So even if his overguard was uncapped he wouldn't get to those amounts because they don't scale from enemies like Rhino and Nezha, and that's *on top* of both Rhino and Nezha having shields for shield gating.
    So I am beyond confused why he has no shields *and* capped overguard.

      Overguard?! Rhino has an Armor buff that can scale with Arcane buffs, not Overguard. Nezha is also an Armor multiplier. Overguard is not on either of these 2 frames. Overguard works like an added health bonus.

      I guess you didn't read what I've said, their abilities changed to Overguard, they scale from armor but they still give Overguard.

    I don't understand why they didn't give him shields. There are Warframes and enemies with shields and overguard.
    I would remove the self damage on 2. Remove the overguard cap and make it scale with strength and perhaps with melee combo in some way. Make him invulnerable while casting 4.
    I hope that Kullervo gets some buff or at least an augment that improves his survivability

      It sort of fits considering enemies from Duviri uses overguard instead of shields.
      Their overguard however are much more potent than what Kullervo can have.

    my buff would be make overguard scale with armor and by that i mean the damage reduction hp gets should apply to your overguard. In addition i would either remove the cap on overguard or add another 0 to the end of it (50,000)

      50,000 at Conjusntion levels can get you 1 shot. It's useless unless there's some type of DR

    As much as I love him, his survivability and dmg mitigation is $#!t tbh. DE needs to go back to the drawing board on his Overgaurd. That, or add some other mechanic to his kit just for survivability at higher levels. It's pretty sad when Yareli and Merulina can tank better.

    Itd be cool if they made his overguard supply scale with duration.
    Like you said, kul doesnt really need duration so he'd gain a use for dur and it would diversify his builds.
    Idk about you but I dont like when frames only need 1 stat like strength (rev). Its cool when you need a brain shut off frame but sometimes you want to do a little thinking and kulervo feels like a brain usage frame

    They are trying something new with overguard mechanic, it sucks now but after 2 hotfixes he'll be better to use. Gonna wait until then

    Improving Overguard is a bit hard to design
    If you give it an Gate/ Invulnerability window the at that point its pretty much just shields and their second would be like a worse kind of Pillage since it won't have status cleanse and DR
    Also another thing to consider is Kullervo is probably designed to be a Glass cannon . At its current state Overguard is already good enough to protect you for the entirety of the regular star chart so in that regard they're already too tanky for that but then on Steel Patch Kullervo's Overguard becomes paper. Buffing Overguard would make em lean more to a Tank if we're talking bout the regular star chart so I guess it depends on what DE is intention for this frame.
    With this in mind the improvement should encourage a more High risk High reward kind of gameplay
    Adding DR to Overguard would probably be the quickest fix but not sure if that would still make Kullervo a Glass Cannon, at least on base Steel Path. Perhaps a small DR equivalent to Kullervo's armor could work since the armor is already in their kit so its not really improving it past what Kullervo was designed for.
    Uncapping or increasing the cap might not be a bad idea since it won't change the feel of being a squishy frame but at the same time giving the ability a decent buffer as to not just die immediately.
    Another thing I've been thinking they could add is to allow Overguard to replenish as you kill enemies. Its a bit the same with the last idea, more buffer but more consistent + rewards a more aggressive play style which Kullervo is designed for.
    I saw in one of the comments saying they should give some sort of passive buff while Overguard is active which is also a great idea.

      Pillage doesn't have any DR so idk why you mentioned that. It would just be like shields, except you have status and knockdown immunity as well. It would be shields +

      the thing is, just from a basic mechanical standpoint, the concept of a glass cannon doesn't exist in Warframe. EVERYONE is a glass cannon, because of how damage scales and the sheer number of projectiles flying around. THIS IS the reason, DE had to implement Shield Gating as a band aid fix, to make the game even work on SP lvl 1000+.
      This is the sole reason, it literally does make 0 sense to introduce a warframe with no shield gating, which is the most basic and most mandatory defense mechanic in the game. The game literally doesn't work without it. The damage of enemies VASTLY outscales anything YOU could scale with HP and Armor and with no additional mechanic for DR or invulnerability frames, you literally just die and it is completely out of your control, because there WILL be that stray projectile hitting you at one point. In addition to that, modding for Armor+HP and the necessary arcanes for that, completely kills any build customizability and costs 1-2 Umbra Forma to make it even possible in the first place. So even if Health/armor tanking would be a thing, it is incredibly expensive and shitty to build for with no room to build around abilities.

      Rhino gets like 50k iron skin (which is the same as overguard) with minimal investment and can still lose it within a few seconds, a 5k hard cap with no mechanical benefits just isn't viable enough, especially when you consider that it isn't affected by any kind of damage reduction, and the lack of shields to safely recast just makes it even worse

      @@aggammer3485 exactly this and another integral part to rhino's iron skin is the actual invulnerability and status cleanse he gets from casting it, even further amplified by the augment, making it spammable.

    Gaz would using chromas subsume over his 2 for 150%armor and 3x damage work with a full umbra build adaptation arcane guardian or blessing or both I don't have chroma subsumed so I can't test it but if u or anyone in chat has chroma subsumed can u please test it ?

      You can also end up with enough strength range and duration using primed continuity stretch overextended and streamline to use all of his abilities instead of being stuck using specific rotations I also use arcane energize over rocking both blessing and guardian simply because I like my energy but u can use energizing dash if needed

    Ngl somewhat disappointed in Kullervo. I like the idea of a frame that uses Overguard to tank, but overguard only prevents CC and adds extra hp. Only prevents AOE stagger when it's on the player. Doesn't seem to scale off armor either, so higher levels are gonna rip him apart anyways. It's disappointing, really.

    Any, i use Zenistar just for fashion frame, dont forget to equip Carnis mod. Even using Zenistar with just a few mods, Carnis mod and Killing blow, I can explode everything giving 1 million damage, imagine if it was a decent weapon for that.
    Note: I didn't use any critical chance mod in melee and no combo counter mod because it's useless since Kullervo can stack combo by himself
    Pet: any pet, I don't even use

      @@thesun4490 I checked it and it proves my point, you nearly died in less than 2 seconds when you didn’t cast your 2 not even 1 min into survival, if you went 30 min in lua you’d spam your 2 until you run out of energy inevitably and get one tapped. Use health conversion instead of those trust me

    It makes absolutely no sense to replace his 4 instead of his 2 if you're talking about high level SP situations. His 4 at least has a use: building combo and crowd control. His 2 is literally useless since it doesn't have a shield gate mechanic. It's a waste of energy in high level situations.
