So funny thing: I was very, very close to scrapping this video for a few reasons
1. The whole thing with losing a chunk of my intro anim
2. Styanax being a super simple frame and thus not having much to talk about
3. What little hidden mechanics he *did* have ended up being glitches and being removed by DE (such as being able to cast his other powers in Final Stand). About 3 minutes total were dedicated to these mechanics, and I had to cut all that. Just to give you an idea of how much was cut
4. He's been out for awhile already
But I don't really take my content super seriously, so I figured there's no *real* reason not to release it. Y'all have been in a drought again enough as is, so whilst I'm not super happy with this one, I'd rather show you lot anyway lmao
Also I just dont like leaving stuff on the cutting room floor if I can avoid it

The biggest sin of Styanax is not giving us spear melee weapons. I would honestly kill to be able to use spearguns as both guns and melee weapons at the same time, especially so since the channeling melee weapons have is removed. Melee needs a melee button and a block button, ranged needs a shoot button and an aim button, block and aim are default together anyways... it mechanically should work and could add some variety to the weapons in game.
I think the way that could be done is by making a temporary melee copy of the weapon while it's equipped in the primary slot, though you can probably already see issues with that
the two I can think of off the top of my head are "if the only weapons you have equipped are speargun primary and speargun melee, wouldn't unequipping the primary leave you weaponless?" and "wouldn't that result in there being 2 holstered weapons on the character model?"
Next issue: Mods

8:18 No, it's not a bug. The ability hits the cone in front of him, as well as a small sphere around him. It was added to help with melee enemies to prevent them from being missed by being "too close" to the cone and not being hit (which wouldnt make sense at point blank obviously). They added similar things to other conical abilities, like Harrow's Condemn for instance.

Fun fact about our favorite space spartan Styanax if you slap on aviator(yes that 1 mod everyone forgot existed after zephyr stopped being meta) he becomes basically God due to how little damage he takes since your fourth constantly has you in the air😂

I was literally just looking for your video on Styanax, only to realize you hadn't made a video on him yet. I have summoned thee Triburos, guide and entertainer of newbies and veterans alike!
It's a small note, but the ability description at 6:55 does say that Styanax knocks back enemies within 2.5 meters of himself, seperately from the description and range of the shields. Pretty sure that it hitting enemies behind him, like at 8:10, is the intended effect and a seperate hitbox from the shields. Also pretty sure that hitting enemies while aiming down is a result of the 160 degree verticle spread listed, which means that you should be able to aim almost straight down and still be hitting enemies in front of you, but in practice allows a mid level aim that hits ground and air targets.
weird comparrison, but in magic the gathering theres two kinds of good cards. the "super complicated gonna do 50 things and enable a whole playstile" card, and the "im big, strong, and impossible to kill" kinda card. Styanax seems like the later, very much a return to form basic warframe, but not weak in any sense of the word.

Fun fact: for some reason, Final Stand receives universal weapon buffs like Mirage's Eclipse, Xata's whisper, Vigorous swap and smeeta's orange crit charm. I tried testing with primary,secondary and melee specific arcanes and buffs, but none worked. So yeah,if you feel the need to boost even more his bleed procs, go for it. (All of this was tested before Lua's Prey,tho.)

On base kit i actually prefer negative Duration to not be locked into the 4's animation for long, instead opting for more range for the 1, 2 and 4 too
Most of the time however i actually run Parasitic Armor since every kill while it's active gives you overshields because of your 3 and, more importantly, REFRESHES YOUR SHIELD GATING, and even if you don't manage to get a kill in time before the invul ends, you still have around 4K extra armor. I removed his 4 for this but replacing the 1 can work too
Doesn't Parasitic Armor only give armor based on your shield capacity and not overshields
@@craigkuhlman6869 correct, but it still allows you to gain overshields, thus resetting your shield gating through the use of Styanax's third ability
god i hope that with upcoming expansion they finally sit and rework dragon keys (long overdue by DE) and shield gating exploit (that became a standard use in like 80% of builds) will be no more.
@@sajmon154 dragon keys actually make this build worse, since it reduces your max shields, it reduces the armor you get from Parasitic Armor, the shield gate refresh comes from kills rather than abilities and Brief Respite

Little correction, Styanax comes from Astyanax, whom of which was a Trojan. He was thrown off of the walls of Troy by Odysseus.
I swaped out his first for coil horizon and with archon stretch for more energyregeneration, i like it as it allow me to spam his abilities non stop as he already can, I just wanted more gret vibe btw
I'm a styanax main and Rally Point is my friend's favorite ability. She mains Hildryn and it works really well when we play together.

honestly trib you need to make warframe builds! your builds look genuinely good and also fun/funny to use and could help teach new players about what means what and what is important to certain frames.

Styanax is my absolute favorite. My go-to dps guy. Good survivability, good team buffs, and just.. so many javelins. God, so many javelins. Last stand may not be a nuke the same way Gara's vitrify is, but it's certainly a room clearer.

Ok, I dont see anyone bringing this up so I will, Styanax has a hidden passive (as far as I'm aware its been forever since iv played). but, he has a passive with spear guns where when he throws the spear gun to cause the buff that the spear provides, he doesn't actually lose the spear gun he just makes a copy of the spear, throws it, and keeps the gun, while still having that spears buff. meaning you can easily and quickly re-locate the spears aura somewhere else, and if you feel like being silly, instead of shooting the enemy with the spear gun you can just constantly harass them, and repeatedly throw the spear at them (btw if you didn't know if you hit an enemy by throwing the spear it dose damage).

I always hear Pharah's "Justice rains from above", whenever I use Styanax's 4!
So it would give a speargun yellow crits, but is unlikely to give oranges, unless you had high cc already on the weapon with mods combined. How it works is every 40 shields you have, (including overshields) you get 1% of cc additively added (2% w/spearguns) to put it simply.
So with a max rank styanax and a r8 redirection, this would give 86.25%cc (additive) to a weapon. (Remember that this increases or decreases with his _current_ shield total, so be careful with low shield values.) I know this was 3 months ago, but if I can help people understand his passive, then they should be able to build him well. Most of this came from the wiki.
Building Styanax well usually means ignoring his passive and full sending into abilities

I honestly thought the same on the shield thing too and used a shield and sword for my entire time playing him until I forgot about the passive only now am I reminded of it

Happy to see a trib vid, but do need to dispell the gauss slander in the first minute-
Gauss can be laughably easy to play too! Helminth Fire Walker onto him over Thermal in one of his configs, and give him literally every duration mod under the sun + adaptation. Congratulations! You've got a nigh-invincible gunslinger frame that can fire at the speed of light. Fire Walker, Redline, and Kinetic Plating even have the exact same duration. With my build at 400% duration I get 120 seconds of almost worry free gameplay while I destroy everything in sight with a 250%~ fire rate trumna and 2.00 sprint speed. The only thing you need to avoid is going below 100% strength, since that affects his Kinetic Plating and make it unable to fully protect you.
His ult is probably the most fun ability in the game, it's too goddamn good

I got styanax as one of my first frame from coming back after not playing for ages and realising I only really had volt Excalibur and rhino, and I’ve been maiming him since I got him

Suggestion: use molt augmented to increase ability strength even further(preferably max), and then you can use mods to increase duration

Although im not 100% sure since i haven't played styanax in a long while, but from what i remember his 2 is indeed projectiles since even with 50% or less armor strip you can fully strip enemies by shotgunning them, its just that practically everything about it is weird, such as range affecting the shield width in such a dumb way that 75% range can miss enemies for being slightly off angle but at 145% range you are practically throwing walls at people
It's still mostly a cone that gets shot out, but it has some weird properties that really seem finicky. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bit of both, with some parts of it being a cone and other parts being projectile. Prob not the case but with how weird it can act at times, it sure does make it feel like it.

Yeah, the Javelin is still pretty buggy, it doesn't activate 75% of the time, but that's really not a problem when you can spam the shit out of your abilities to just keep casting until it does work.

Reasons why I play nezha:
Shield = basically never die
Cool circle
Spears that come from the ground
Fire feet
Tanks let you play with the guns
And not get one shot trying to kill an enemy
Styanax sorta lets you do that too with the shield overflow but you can’t really beat throwing 1000 spears to kill some enemies
