    Why didn't I talk about the 1+4 combo? Here's why clips.twitch.tv/AwkwardColdbloodedHorseradishCoolStoryBro-FfkWsM26maopYcSy

    • @digitalgabeg
      @digitalgabeg 3 месяца назад +18

      In response to your clip: the main benefit to 1+4 is not the 5 seconds of doubled damage from the pillar. While the pillar is empowered with Qorvex's 4, the pillar's pulses also inflict volatile status. This is helpful to apply volatile to enemies you can't see and might not even know are there, and without the need to run the beam over each of them. If you put a pillar near a defense target, you can wipe out everyone nearby from a good distance away just by slapping the pillar with your 4.

      Always deemed you more of a science-y channel in the context of warframe
      If you just start omitting information like that you start loosing credibility and the unique approach that this channel has for tackling practial problems
      At least just including a short mention, like the clip, in the video would've been a better solution in my eyes
      Though an optimal one would've been dissecting & explaining why this not a good way to play and doesn't seem to work as good as ppl say, if possible

      LuigisPikachu - as you've chosen not to click through you clearly care more about sticking to your guns than being right. I have replied to your further comments elsewhere.
      Digitalbeg - Enemies exploding spreads the volatile effect, a pillar is not required for this. Its primary function is to spread radiation such that the enemis are eligible to become volatile and with more procs to feed into it. As the clip shows, hitting the pillar or not makes no real difference to the actual damage output - hitting anything that starts the chain reaction is sufficient. I'm sorry I did not anticipate how deeply held the belief is that striking the pillar is somehow that important when demonstrably it's not.
      TsubadayaYami - I omitted it only unaware of how deeply held the belief is that striking the pillar is necessary or substantially helpful. I do not keep up with memes or other creators' works to see what claims they are making, and thus don't spend time in videos dissecting such misunderstandings.

      @@TheKengineer If you spawn enemies in the simulacrum and place the pillar right in front of the group, then fire the beam facing towards the pillar and away from the enemies, they still explode just as much as if you had hit them directly. Ive taken that to mean that the pillar propagates the beam's ability to explode enemies without having to hit them directly - very useful for exploding enemies not touched by the beam but still in the los of the pillar. So 1 + 4 = better range and aoe on starting chain reactions imo

    • @TheKengineer
      @TheKengineer  3 месяца назад +78

      I skipped that so as to avoid any misunderstanding that the pillars are particularly helpful there. A rad procced enemy will become part of the chain reaction regardless. Only if you beam a pillar yet don't beam any other enemies in explosion range would it matter, at which point it's more likely to be a suboptimally placed beam, pillar, or both.

      @@TheKengineerThe beam doesn’t just immediately spread out the volatility. Hitting the pillars with his abilities will “overcharge” them, making them attack faster. However, if you hit it with his 4, it will not only overcharge it, but every pulse will inflict volatility, meaning more enemies over a wider area can be inflicted with it, along with more enemies entering the radius after you’ve finished using crucible blast. It’s nothing amazingly game breaking, but definitely a very helpful part of his kit that can additionally help in more stationary missions like survival or defense.

    Qorvex has honestly quickly become one of my favorite frames to play. I mostly do solo content, so I have plenty of enemies to kill on my own with chaining radiation procs. I've done regular 2-3 hour SP endurance runs with an umbral build and never had to try to stay alive, his defenses and crowd control were always more than enough to passively tank. He feels very refreshing as a not-totally-OP-frame-that-trivializes-content (cough, Kullervo) and a frame that can survive to high levels with only simple tech (adaptation +any form of healing) instead of shield-gating or overguard. And the sound design is sooo good.

    Thanks for the video. Two things I didn't see mentioned besides the Blast/Pillar interaction talked about in other comments: Pillar slow is small but works through Overguard...minor perk, but it's there. And Containment Walls don't seem to inflict their vulnerability on enemies immune to their CC. Eximus with Overguard up, Acolytes, and a few others are definitely immune. This really sucks, as these tend to be the enemies one would actually get the chance to see a vuln be beneficial...if it worked.

    as a reminder, you want to be using the 1 as much as possible to better spread the volatile effect since hitting it with the beam speeds up the pulses and makes every enemy hit by the pulse volatile. It is like night and day to his gameplay, and I would argue that it is THE most important part of it. It allows you to basically just shut down entire areas and say "if something walks here, its just dead", hell often times ill literally just shoot of my 4 at a pillar and canel it early to keep moving, without even having to aim at enemies at ALL. SUUUUPER important that you use that 1 and 4 combo as much as possible, it really does do wonders for him.

    The turning speed can be adjusted by either turning very fast or adjusting mouse sensibility .
    A more efficient build that can work with the tauforged topaz shard would be a 235% strength and about 145 range , in some cases the pillar can be used as a 1 way amplificator, by jumping in the middle of the enemies and using the pillar and then crucibal blast the enemies and the pillar. And the problem with the armor and shield would be better resolved with Pillage from hildryn ,since it's not a range base ,but more of a duration, and 2 seconds of pillage can cover pretty much enough for qurvex ,also it can be utiliezed as the 3rd ability since you can gain shield and you can also clear out any status effects, and can be quickly pressed just for that

    For anyone else, don't feel like you *need* the armour strip just to make Qorvex work, the builds shown are very optimised, and that doesn't have to be what you pick if you have fun in other ways. While his Crucible Blast is less likely to kill very tough enemies in stuff like Steel Path, even Acolytes can get seriously hurt if you catch them in a blast, so don't feel like you need to use the strongest build to make Concrete Man work, he's strong enough that you can pick what you find most fun as well if that's for you!

      Caps aside, it pulses quicker and can spread volatility... for the same duration that volatility naturally spreads among the already rad procced, and no line of sight required, exploding enemies. That is not the major improvement you nor others make it out to be. It only helps in extremely low enemy count scenarios, at which point the nuke is being used wrong.

    Hey I know you responded to comments mentioning the synergy between his 1 and 4 already, but your response kinda sounds like there was a misunderstanding about its mechanics. Or hell, maybe everyone else is misunderstanding the mechanics, but if you hit a pillar with his 4, it'll cause the pillar's pulses to quicken and then spread the 4's volitility effect with each pulse for a pretty long duration. It's very useful to spread his 4's reach across many enemies, Triboros made a pretty good video showcasing this.
    Which kinda confuses me since your response in the comments kinda makes it sound like you don't believe it's useful. Are we misunderstanding something?

    • @TheKengineer
      @TheKengineer  3 месяца назад

      The pillar spreads radiation - this is its primary function. Striking the pillar does cause volatility to spread but worse than having an enemy explode on their own. Enemies exploding in good numbers will wipe themselves out already (as I showed), while striking a pillar even in perfect line of sight does not improve things. I was only unaware just how deeply held the belief is that this is somehow doing something special. I have demonstrated this here as many people seem to have been misled by others' beliefs. clips.twitch.tv/AwkwardColdbloodedHorseradishCoolStoryBro-FfkWsM26maopYcSy
      Test it for yourself. You can place pillars without hitting them and feel no worse off unless you're aiming to nuke only 1-2 enemies.

    I helmith off 1 for pillage with max range and lowest possible duration, with max efficiency it makes spamming walls easy and cheap and pillage lasts 0.2ish seconds (with 200% strength) it armor strips a room with two casts and gives qorvex some much needed survival tools. (note strength boosts the dmg vulnerability his 2 gives, the amount of diso guard he can get total and makes d beam do 20k for faster nukes
    id recommend some casting speed shards tho but other then that my qorvex is the equivalent of a microwave nuke

  • @ashfallgaming1685
    @ashfallgaming1685 3 месяца назад +1

    I think you should consider doing negative strength, I watched triburos' video and he showed that the 4th does basically the same dps at 100% and 300% strength. I took this idea and ran with it, with negative strength you can pump max range and decent duration and basically lock down a wide area with his 1 and 4 killing everything. Now personally I feel like primed sure footage is more consistent with knockdowns than his 3 so that was the ability I got rid of and found other ways of clearing status like pillage or rolling guard. His 2 DMG vulnerability also isn't great with how negative my strength is but I've noticed that I don't actually need it because his 4 does so much DMG when paired with his 1 which has allowed me to do multiple hours in SP survival. While I understand how strength helps him, personally I think it's his weakest stat by a mile so I like negative strength. I have not actually run into any enemies that have given me difficulty in all end game content.

      I was thinking the same thing, plus it’s a status cleanse. The reason I think it’s not used here is the insane power requirement for a full strip. You’d have to use Pillage more than once to full strip difficult enemies.

    • @sarasattler5269
      @sarasattler5269 3 месяца назад +1

      @@evolab8983Status cleanse is pretty negligible with Disometric Guard, though, and shields don't benefit from his extremely high armor stat so provide less tank than Health restore. Combine that with the fact that you really only need to strip priority targets since anything softer will get melted anyways and the recommendation makes sense.

    I honestly just skip using Umbral mods on him since it's a lot easier to Shieldgate with him using Cat Shields and Brief Respite. Since his abilities do Radiation which promote infighting for aggro relief, that massively helps. Combine with his 4 making him invulnerable when cast, it doesn't take that much effort. Only thing I wish DE changed was making his 2 feel less janky to use by letting range mods increase the width and making it move "forgiving" in it's verticality.

    @IDirtyMangoI 3 месяца назад

    okie dokie so I'm one of the few people who thinks 3 is his worst ability and I have some reasons why i think its his prime helminth option over 1 or 2. Firstly his 2 is a VERY unique CC/ grouping tool that is the only one in the game that makes best use of his Passive second his 1 is best used when you "connect the dots" meaning put one at each end of a hallway and fire 4 in a way that has enemies lined up between the 2 pillars. This lets him get the most from his slows and the 1 + 4 "synergy". So then the question is, since 3 is his main extra survival tool what do you put there? well the answer is very simple and is a far better version of Status Proc defense that actually has an additional effect of healing so powerful that you can only die via 1 shot damage. and that is Trinity's: Well of Life. It benefits massively from all the range and power Qorvex craves and with just a little bit of duration lasts plenty long enough to no flat out sap your energy reserves. The life steal gets proc'd on every tick from 1, every explosion from 4, the affected enemy is also a nexus for priming the chain reaction and the huge Status immunity field makes you immune to even knockdowns so Prime Sure footed gets booted opening a slot in your build.
