There is no studio version of the Synthesis style of Weight Of The World, they never released it anywhere, and there's no evidence they ever did record it. It's something they added in the end of the 2017 shows, they did 2 leg tour from Fall to Winter, once they took a 2 week break from the Fall tour they added this version to be the encore ending song, I believe Amy had the string section sheets so they created with the band , Will B. Hunt the dj/producer, the sound of it all while the orchestra played the original part of the song. About Jen Majura doing back up vocals, she joined in 2015, and she has writting parts/credits on the 2 singles off Synthesis and The Bitter Truth album. All other records from their beggining till The Bitter Truth have Amy Lee doing the backing vocals herself, even in TBT album Jen only seems to appear in a couple songs (vocally), she mostly does the lower harmonies while live on concert to boost the songs and Amy's voice, having two diff vocals live gives depth to the sound, while on record Amy doing all the backup vocals makes a perfected harmony, on Synthesis (Jen) she did all backing vocals from each track in the every concert of the tour bc the whole Synthesis show was all about making music in the moment, no clicks, no backing tracks, actually they played with local orchestra in each place they went, so they had to hire high level musicians who could do it all with the conductor and only practicing a couple soundtrack rehearsal songs prior to each show a couple hours prior to doing the full show. So it's a wonderful thing about Synthesis, and about Weight of the World version, well they did it while on tour and only a few people in US and Canada got to hear it live in the flesh.
I actually asked Will B Hunt about WOTW when they performed in Toronto. There was not a synthesis version, it's not an outtake. They indeed used the strings the way they were written on TOD.
Yass! I love that you got both! Thank you for understanding the intricacies of their music! Imperfection is an anti suicide song begging people to please stay and fight for your life. She wrote this after the death of the lead singer of Linkin Park. Not saying this was about him but just in general of everyone that chooses to go out that way. I understand if you cant react to the video but just make it a black screen cause we have all seen it and love it and want you to experience it too. The video is exactly the album version with the piano intro. Trust me. You'll be blown away. Also, thank you for your ev videos. They give me life in between work and stuff. You're rad!!
Thanks for the shout out dude. I agree, I also like the Synthesis version better. It just sucks that there is no studio version. To be fair though, seeing some of their live shows on youtube, they tend to spice things up from time to time by giving the fans something that's not in the studio version. Once you get to their self-titled album and listen to Disappear, if you do a double header again and also listen to the live version (Paramount, Huntington, NY 2016), you'll see what I mean. As for how they differentiate the 2 Will Hunts, the programmer/producer is usually called Will B. Hunt or Will "Science".
Thanks for this reaction!! Great video as always 👏🏼 this song only gets better the more u listen to it and yeah I always got a slight middle eastern vibe in this song too that’s what I love about it! Really wish I could’ve seen this live!!
I loved your reaction!!! I wish there was a studio version too! So much fun seeing you react to this! There are many more heavy songs to come on Open Door & Self-titled too! And you will love the whole synthesis album. The synthesis album is one of those ones that you can listen to from start to finish and be totally entranced. ❤️❤️❤️
Love that ur continuing to do the double headers with the synthesis versions! Unfortunately there is no studio version of the synthesis version of Weight of the World.... the song was only performed a few times on this tour (didn’t get to see it even tho I saw the tour at multiple dates). Jen joined the band in 2015 (open door was released in 2006). I Really enjoy ur reactions - u seem like u would be such a chill guy to sit and have a drink with and bullshit with about music etc... keep it up!
Hey my friend! Yeah about the no synthesis version, I soon discover that after I uploaded this, lol. And thanks for the kind comments man, I humbly think you described me pretty well, that sounds like a good time! Next time I do an Ev reaction, I'll be throwing back a rum and coke for ya!
Also cool that some people may not have seen the synthesis version of the song so awesome that you put it up on your reaction! If you are staying with Open Door do “Sweet Sacrifice” or “All that I am living for next.”😊
I think your words at the end kind of describe what makes them so amazing. if you pay attention like 99% of their songs all have strings, theres always intricate violin going on and stuff. I think "Imaginary" is a great representation of that dynamic heavy riff with elaborate violin and piano going on. definitely check that one out!! from fallen. also, you can never go wrong with "lies". very spooky/heavy one
It’s my favorite track of that album and it just sucks that there is no studio version of the “Synthesis-ized” track. Those high notes would sound A MA ZINGGGG in the Studio Track. Keep em coming Mike, love your reactions and your channel in general. 🙌🏻💖
Thanks for checking this song out ;) there are other hard songs in their catalogue. If you ever do Farther Away or Disappear, in both cases it should be the live version of those songs, they are simply way better.
Thanks for this reaction! your videos make my day :D! This song is so underrated~~ I wish they release an official Synthesis version :(( Please react to All That I'm Living For (The Open Door song), they have two awesome version of the song, Studio version and Acoustic Sessions, it's really amazing :))))
Yeedeed Your spontant reaction make it feels natural.. And man I did same thing when I heard some music sometimes.. Imagining about the atmosphere, places, sometimes animals ✌🏽😅.. Honestly, I love your reactions man..
Thanks for the react, my favorite part was the eagle. Unfortunately there is no studio version for Synthesis-ized Weight of the World (no one understands why, because it's AMAZING). Please continue on The Open Door.
I really likeeee this type of reactions when people use both versions... The sad part is that they never released the official studio or the official live DVD of this song 😭😭😭😭... But the way you should do this with other Synthesis songs like "End of the Dream" and "Lacrymosa"., both Synthesis live DVD version.
Hey Mike! Jen was not on the studio version of the song. She joined the band in 2015. It was Amy's vocals only. Unfortunately, there is no studio recording of the Synthesis version. I noticed, however, that some of the lyrics videos you play have a bad audio quality. I wish you could enjoy the best quality possible - just a side note. I'd also like to hear if you like the sound engineering on The Open Door more than The Bitter Truth. I'm excited for more, it feels like a celebration every time you do Evanescence. Cheers!
There’s plenty of other people of probably mentioned it is excruciatingly sad there is no studio version of this song. Specifically the version on this tour stop where she really explored playing with the vocals. This song is incredible and I really hope we get synthesis park to, including this track. Jenn was not in the band during the open door and she is no longer in the band now.
Hi I just noticed your questions in the video to my recollection Jen didn't join the band until during the Evanescence tour because Terry wasn't feeling well and he couldn't do it anymore and I don't think there is a synthesis studio version I wish there was though it could have easily replaced secret door I hope I helped I liked it too
Jen ingreo a Evanescence en 2015, en Synthesis ayudo con la guitarra, voz y un instrumento interesante llamado Theremin, un álbum hermoso, perosolo hasta The Bitter Truth deja ver todo su poder, por ella suenan más pesados!
The saddest thing is there is no studio version of the Synthesis era for this song. Not even a professional live recording. This is the best we’ve gotten so far 😪😪 PS No, Jen joined like 9 years later.

So well said!!
I was at the Chicago show where the played the synthesis version for the first time it was incredible!

Also cool that some people may not have seen the synthesis version of the song so awesome that you put it up on your reaction! If you are staying with Open Door do “Sweet Sacrifice” or “All that I am living for next.”😊
Thanks for watching both live & the album version 💗 💫

Great reaction. 🤘‼️
The acustic 👍
The chelo 👍
The high note of the Electr guitar
It’s my favorite track of that album and it just sucks that there is no studio version of the “Synthesis-ized” track. Those high notes would sound A MA ZINGGGG in the Studio Track. Keep em coming Mike, love your reactions and your channel in general. 🙌🏻💖
Jen wasn't there for open door she joined the band in 2015, she was doing the backing vocals on the synthesis live one 🙂

Thanks for the comment man! Yeah I felt stupid after saying that, glad someone got a laugh out of it! lol
Yeedeed Your spontant reaction make it feels natural..
And man I did same thing when I heard some music sometimes..
Imagining about the atmosphere, places, sometimes animals ✌🏽😅..
Honestly, I love your reactions man..
I love anything she sings, incredible vocalist. I hadn't heard this one..love the second one the most .👍👍🕊❤
Thanks for the react, my favorite part was the eagle. Unfortunately there is no studio version for Synthesis-ized Weight of the World (no one understands why, because it's AMAZING). Please continue on The Open Door.
I loved the Eagle too!!!
No the Open Door with Amy's sister's doing back up vocals

I'm still mad I didn't get to experience this live for synthesis.. I saw 4 shows over the course of the Synthesis Era. lol
Hey Mike!

I think we’re all bummed that there isn’t a studio Synthesis version of this… 😩😩
Please react to Sweet Sacrifice (The Open Door) Both song and video are really cool.
