You actually got me hooked on Kalandra with your reaction video to "The Waiting Game". I went down the Kalandra rabbit hole after that. I was hoping this came across your path. Great reaction....satisfying to watch.

Check out the studio version of “Ensom” from their first album. :) Nowhere near as rock/metal as this, but a lot of fans encouraged Kalandra to explore heavier songs in the future after it was released.
From the press release:
“‘Bardaginn’ - The title means 'fight' or 'battle', whether it’s experienced from within or out in the real world. The meaninglessness of it all, yet the importance for humans to find meaning in fighting for something, or someone.
Vocalist Katrine was curious about making a timeless lyrics using the Old Norse language. She teamed up with Norwegian lyricist and language consultant Alexander Lykke, and together with guitarists Jogeir and Florian and drummer Oskar, they’ve created a song unlike anything Kalandra has ever composed before.
The band comments: "For our next single release we all knew it was important for us to try and challenge ourselves creatively, and yet still somehow manage to keep that light playfulness in the creative process, where absolutely anything was allowed. Although it at times seemed like an impossible task to piece together, it feels as if we’ve managed to really pull out the best in every member of the band, and really showcase what we’re made of, both individually and as a team.
Bardaginn is fun, but also bloody serious. We’re very proud of each other and what we’ve made, and we can’t wait to play it live."

Great to see Kalandra back on your channel, and awesome reaction! I pretty much had the same reaction as you. I love all their stuff, but this heavier side of them is epic, especially combined with the music video. They did put out a lyric video with English lyrics, BTW. I really hope they put out a live version of this soon, because they're also an awesome live band, and it's cool when Katrine gets to rock on stage.
BTW, Aurora also has a new song out called "Your Blood" with a very cool music video, and also an acoustic live version that she recently did at a Meet & Greet in Beijing. Would love to see you react to both.

Great reaction! It's been some time since I heard Kalandra, and this song surpriced me. Much heavier than their earlier songs. Love it! Have to see them live some time.

i think the genre name you are looking for is something like "Progressive Dark Nordic Folk Rock" or something like that....
