I thought some advice on How To Jump An RC Car might come in handy. First of all I don't claim to be the best at RC car jumping but in this video I talk you through, and show you how! SUBSCRIBE & HIT THE BELL - www.youtube.com... Get the 6ch Radio Transmitter & Receiver We Now Use Here - www.banggood.c... It's got a built in Gyro, ABS Braking, and a 500M Range For Under $30!
Exactly why a car lands nose first, tail first or on its back! So LISTEN to the video don't just watch it. If you're fed up with landing nose down or wheels way up in the air then this will explain what's happening as you go about lratning to jump an rc car. Also note EVERY RC car is different in the way it jumps. If your car has bug transmission losses then this is like the brake being applied mid air and you'll need to keep the throttle on to compensate - the video shows what I mean using a Latrax SST to explain the physics of what's going on in the air, and then an Arrma Outcast for the Demo Jump Crashes!.

Kevin Talbot be like "just go flat out at the biggest ramp you can find"
lol yeah and smash it to bits :)
AXRC Racing whaa happend?
When in doubt go flat out lol
"What happen" LoL footage 🤜🤛
Heres what happens:
Here it is flat out>to the mooon!!!>oooooooh what happend???>well...game over...
I really Respect this video... You too the time to show us (newbies) and to explain it.. Great job 👍👍
I'm glad it came across okay. It takes practice and even I get it horribly wrong when I'm not paying attention, worst thing is probably to hit the brakes too hard in mid air, which can result in a hard nose down landing. Hopefully the explanation of the deliberate crashes came over okay, some people think I crashed by accident but I did say in the video 'I'm now going to crash because of xyz' etc. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Just got myself an Arrma Granite. Haven't been brave enough to do any big jumps yet. Such a nice car and a real blast to drive
Nice job Richie. Like all thing in life it take time to master the back and front flip. The mechanics remain the same with most rc's. Great job. Joh
Thanks 👍
you dont owe us any explanation that it was intentional :) its clear from the commentary, which is great and informative.. Really like the video man, have a Like!
First learn how to jump vid I’ve watched seen as though I’m getting a new RC car very soon. Now I don’t need to watch any others as this was very well informed. Thanks mate
Thanks for the nice feedback
Lol same here
This video was awesome, exactly what I was looking for. Your examples were spot on.
i was looking for an explanation on how they always seem to land them well. That checks out , thank you
I appreciate you spending your time to do a video on this, got a new truck coming so your advice will be invaluable, I like your humble approach "subscribed" 😎👍
Glad it helped
What a show for the engineer minded folk of rc, great video, awesome truck, u still have him the arrma, the 1 to get
You need a curve in that ramp. It'll give it a good kick to go higher
Thanks for the simple overview of jumping.
Basic, but valuable. Thank you!
Awesome content 👏👌 really helpful 👍💪💪💥
Thank you for your time sharing your knowledge! Awesome video 😃
Thanks for the complement. As I say I'm no expert jumper but hopefully this gets the concept across of what happens in the air when braking or accelerating in the air. I thought the small model/.big model would be best to demo this. I've now a big jump area I've unearthed in my new back yard which I'll do a part 2 on - filmed from the side
hey, are you the world's best rc jumper? lol, just kidding mate. you're explanation was great and really helpful. cheers
No I still get it wrong, but hopefully this gets across the mechanics of what's happening to the car in the air and what actions your inputs have to the car in the air. Recently landed a front flip with my 33lb Losi XL-E!
Just what I needed thanks , time to build a ramp and go jumping 👍
great vid thank you - can you comment on how these guidelines change when you are using a 4X4?
Now theres an idea, a lot depends on the weight of the 4x4 and the transmission drag, with my los XL-e which is huge if you ease of the throttle hard then it just nose dives, likewise same with arrma senon. Let me give it some thought
As soon as I got my first 4x4 and jumped it all I wanted to do was go find jumps after that lol.
Thank you, very helpful as Im new to this.
Can you do one with the ftx tracer
Hi, I am new at this and been working on jumps. Could you do like a split screen of using the control and the jump at the same time?
Same here, does anyone know where I can find such a video.?
I can help
If you take the jump I whould give 25% throttle in the air! If you want more information you can ask me
@@dnbarracus there you go
Is there a technique for doing donuts other than just turning the wheel in one direction while going full throttle?
This guy knew people in the comment section were going to talk shit on his jumps so he made it clear that it was done on purpose !😂 good info btw.
Thanks I am glad you said that. I find it funny (on the trash talking) how people are quick to criticise on stuff but it makes you wonder if they know so much why are they watching a ' how to' video or not recording their own. Glad you got the bit that it was meant to go wrong! Thxs for taking the time to comment
Thank you for this video.. makes perfect sense
Great video
I'm not the world's best jumper........ hits a standing backflip lol.
where is best COG location for most buggies and rc trucks??? my guess is the center of wheel base or maybe slightly farther back.... thanks for the great video explaining! i have a little a959 car on the way and will make a couple of nice little ramps to do this...seems like fun,,,and practice makes perfect...
I'd be thinking you're right with the center of the wheelbase, practice makes perfect although I can still get it horribly wrong
Really helpful for a newbie like me..
Tanks. I'll put it to the test..
Thank you! This video helped so much!
Glad it helped!
Explains it perfectly 👍👍
glad it does. I've no problem at all with showing how it goes wrong! other channels 'this is how to execute a double backflip'. Err no, that's not happening! Understanding what the car's doing in the air is the key to going from zero in front of your mates to hero. Glad it helps, all feedback appreciated. I NEVER stop learning, not ever. Weight transfer is the thing, best analogy I could come up with is twist a LARGE box of matches in your fingers, feels odd? That the same as your RC is doing. All feedback appreciated as trust me I learn daily from you guys
Hi how big does the jump have to be in relation to the size of the car I ask because I have a Traxxas Sledge and a Nitro Circus ramp witch is 99 cm (L) x 65 cm (W) x 33 cm (H) and seems to not work very well keeps going nose first I figured it was just me being useless still a big chance of that. thanks for any help.
Great job
First video always is the unboxing second video first repairs LoL 🤜🤛
You got that right!
thx good job explaining
Have to know wow it goes bad before it can go good👍👍
Does this apply to 4wd cars as well?
Yes
This 1 of the reson I stay on the ground. This takes skills. An I don't like breaking my r cs
New to the hobby, thank you for the info
Excellent video. (Seriously) 👍
Thanks! Both the bad landings were 100% intentional. It goes against the grain though to intentionally get it wrong! Hope it helps.
Nice video! I'm curious, what is that setup you have to keep your body clips attached to the body?
Hi I’m away from home at the minute but if it’s the outcast you mean all the new arrmas come with the body cops on little rubber bits that are linked to the body but you can buy them and fit them to other cars
rustler 4x4 flies like a bird!!!
thanks mate, helpful video
OK the video helped but...My problem is hitting the ramp in the first place, maybe hit the ramp one in 7 or 8 tries.. Could not believe how hard it is to line up the car with the ramp when using the remote control, I guess it just takes a lot of practice---my first RC truck, a slow learner, my truck does about 35 mph and very touchy on the steering. When I do hit the ramp the truck flies nice, but so far the ramp is only about 9" high ( Just getting started and don't want to crash the truck ) but try to hit it at full speed...
Thanks
Great video very helpful thanks
How to make the ramp pls, destroyed mine with the kraton!!
Great Video!!!!!
Thanks thus video was very helpfull
Good video, cheers
Great video with helpful info thx
Glad it helps
Wish I had seen this before I ran my new car. Had that thing on its roof in no time. Minimal damage but scuffs on a new rig kind of sucks.
Any idea at what weight and speed is it possible to do flips?
depends on the type of car as much as the speed and weight, you want something 4wd brushless and ideally a monster truck.
Great tutorial.....
And now suddenly, i know why i keep landing of my roof :P
Perfect info thx
Do you give full throttle the whole time on the ramp or do you let off at a touch during the time on the ramp? Is there a sweet spot?
I think you usually stay on the throttle on the ramp depending on how much throttle and power your rig has will determine if you have to pitch it forward (break) or backwards (throttle).
And im pretty sure you are suppose to be completely off the throttle when you land. If you're on the throttle while landing you can destroy your diff.
Thanks for the responses. I've been working on it.
You drive at a moderate speed towards the jump and full throttle 2/3 up ramp to make a backflip. When the angle is right for landing you let off the throttle before landing to avoid internal damages of the gears / driveshafts.
cool one!
Idk if he said this but dont stay on the throttle when you land. If you do you could potentially ruin your diff.
Matt good point, it does depend on the weight of the car a lot, I've landed stupid heavy stuff hard and fast and still on the throttle and it be okay and other stuff like my DB XLE throws the pinion on hard landings. Hard one to call but yes I should have mentioned it. Hard to quantify as a lot depends on the quality of the cars transmission, but thanks for raising the point.
@@DriftomaniacsRC yes that's very true i have never had an issue on my senton 6s or kraton and i land on throttle sometimes im still learning. But i do see other people bring it up on different forums and pages. But all is good great video and some good information.
good information
Thanks. I'll email you for a catch up. Just moved house so last month has been 'interesting' what with unpacking.
Nice video!!!
Yes thank you I can finely jump with out braking my car
Arrrgh I want an outcast
should you land the car with power? or with a natural speed?
I'd aim for natural speed but maybe a touch of power as it'll slow on landing
What accent do you have?
South Carolina as I joke to my US friends. They normally pause before responding "but..."
British?
Yes but I constantly get asked if I'm British or Australian,
no
How to break because i dont know
push back once for reverse, twice to get the brake to work on most remotes. hope that helps
Thanks this helps
How do I jump a 2wd car
Brendan the same principles apply however 4wd is easier to correct/control in the air.
Driftomaniacs ok thanks ps love your vids
Can I have them
omg i keep nosing it i did what you did and it did nothing
Hold the throttle on more in the air. What car BTW?
Hummm wish I watched this Befor taking the new car out. Now the small bag of bits car 😅
Lol my car is probably shitty balanced or something bcs it always lands on its nose 😁
Try keeping the throttle on in mid air, that should help keep the nose up.
@@DriftomaniacsRC Well it doesnt i have 2 cars himoto and traxas. Traxas jumos pretty good but himoto just digs in to ground nose first. Plus the himoto is like 7 years old and much slower than traxas so the throttle mid air isnt doing much. But thanks for the video i learned how to jump my traxas :D
glad it helped even if just a bit!
As a skateboarder and an rc car enthusiast, PLEASE do not drive your car at the skatepark!
I only ever film at the skatepark when it's empty like when it's freezing or after it's rained.
