    Nice design, simple, portable, multiple angles. And you can store it with minimal volume. Perfect. I am going to build this tomorrow!

    This is what I did and it’s been a great distance jumper . Same exact build . I used steel strapping with the holes for adjusting and standing it up

    Nice setup! I would of put the eyelets on the sides (edge) of the boards and run the chain on the side also. this would allow your jump to fold flat.

    • @leviblocher1895
      @leviblocher1895 6 лет назад

      fierodough thinking the same thing and easier to adjust as well and would only need it on one side so less parts = less money :)

    Great idea, i watched many videos and got great plans from many vids, i may do one like yours with a 4X8 sheet of plywood cut in half....will be 4' wide, so plenty wide....thanks for the idea 👍👍

  • @DanRussell-q8s
    @DanRussell-q8s 9 месяцев назад

    I think that the eyelet screws should be screwed completely into the wood and grind off any excess that is sticking out until it is flush to the board . This will make the screw much more rigid and prevent the screw from being bent or even pulled out when the car hits the ramp at faster speeds . The weight of the car coupled with the force that it hits the ramp will put much more strain on the chain than what you might think . IMO only .

  • @Funcentric

    That's hillarious! It actually works! Nice Love how it's so portable.

  • @vicko5000

    Thanks Buddy.. Built this and it works so great and didnt take long to build.. I did put the Screw Eyes on one of the side of the ramp so it can fold completely flat as another commenter suggested. Right now just using twine through those screw eyes but thinking of putting a a third anchor point then just adjusting the length i want and tying to the third anchor point.
    Needless to say when my 4y year old son and 7 year old nephew saw those cars flying in the air they couldnt get enough!

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  6 лет назад

      Great to hear that! The screw eye amendment the other commenter suggested was a top tip. I will try and work on an updated version when I get a minute, I'm thinking of using some sort of plastic/composite sheet that might reduce the weight but still keep it stiff

    • @vicko5000
      @vicko5000 6 лет назад

      yes it is a bit heavy, my first thought was to use Plexiglass but since I had some old plywood laying around airport used that.. though plexiglass could lead to traction issue I imagine.

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  6 лет назад

      good point on the traction, thinking abiout it my idea of plastic might be a non starter due to lack of traction when wet. I will brainstorm something

  • @philkennedy1105
    @philkennedy1105 6 лет назад +3

    I made mine just like yours but used plywood with a 2x1 frame screw the plywood to the frame but overlap the frame 20mm at bottom that gets rid of ridge, hinges at top joint, then put your chains at the side easier to keep adjusting :) and I made my ramp 4’ wide

  • @scottintexas
    @scottintexas Год назад

    Great idea, very simple, and some good improvement ideas in the comments. Consider width of ramp 3-4x width of vehicle. I also like the idea of one side longer for two different angles, with a ratio of 1:1.5 (length of each board - 12”:18”).

    Wow.... I was just about to buy a $125 ramp.... THIS WILL SAVE ME MONEY!! Thanks so much for posting. I think I will get a 2x4 board instead of 2x2 that was I won't have to stand right behind it to get on it. It seems to be a little difficult to hit the 2x2 board. I have the slash ultimate and being so big I think I will get the wider board. Anyways, thanks for posting!! The rain in the end made me happy haha in Nevada its been a really dry winter :(
    God Bless

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  6 лет назад +1

      Nevada GREAT that you picked up on the fact that 2x4 is the way to go. The 2x2 is very hard to hit with anything 1/10 scale or above at higher speeds even in dry conditions. Now I've moved house you've inspired me to buidl a new 2x4 one myself. Just moved to a State VERY near you. Although it's rained daily since we arrived!
