The blind rankings were as follows:
1. Stoli Elit
2. Goodnight Loving
3. Tower Vodka
4. Absolut Elyx
5. Ketel One
6. Luksusowa
7. Tito’s
8. Wheatly Vodka
9. Purity 51
10. Roberto Cavalli
11. Purity 34
Please know that all of these were well made and didn’t really show and notable flaws. The Tower vodka was a big surprise for me, it was enjoyable, flavorful, and a great value, but definitely not as “clean” throughout as some others.

As of January 2023, my current bottle count is over 2,600. I am a Certified Specialist of Spirits and have also been accredited by the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT). I've been actively collecting for more than two decades and what started as a small basic home bar has transformed (with the help and understanding of my wonderful wife) into this collection and career. Speaking of my career, my “Saints Alley" Bourbons & Rye whiskeys are on Total Wine shelves and customers are really enjoying them (be sure to ask for a sample when you're in the stores)! Currently, our two new Special Editions are also available for a limited time! One is our "Nobleman" Rye Whiskey aged in Tokaji (pronounced Tok-eye) casks - Tokaji is a Hungarian fortified wine (similar to the French Sauternes) that’s barrel aged. The other is a twist on our "Herald" Bourbon. Instead of just finishing the bourbon in Armagnac casks, we've also used some that rested in French Pineau des Charentes casks - “Pineau” is unfiltered grape juice (sometimes lightly fermented) that’s fortified with Cognac and barrel aged. Trust me, both are delicious, and given my knowledge and high standards, you know I’m working hard with my team to continue releasing whiskeys that we're proud of! Thanks for watching and please remember to drink responsibly. Cheers! - Хобби
I always come back for the Vodka reviews. I was introduced to the scene with Belvedere.
Goodnight Loving is so smooth and my all-time favorite vodka. Did it surprise you? Thanks for including it!
It really did, but that’s what’s fun about doing a blind. Thank you for watching and commenting! Cheers!
Let keep them coming with sherryed whisky's, standard mashbill bourbons, added sugar and non added sugar rums, port finishend whisky's etc etc :)
Yessss this is great content! Searching for the best with big and less bigger brands we all can get around the world :)
Great review!
Love me some Tower Vodka! Great reviews. 👍
Wow, now this is a throwback to the old days of LiquorHound videos! Love it, thanks!
Great reviews! Id like to see what you think of Chopin, the wheat and potato versions.
I’ve always enjoyed your reviews; they are very thorough and highly informative. I’m really surprised that you don’t have more subscribers and thumbs ups! Your excellent content deserves far more views and commentaries. For my part, I thank you for your continued efforts.
This was a great video! I bought goodnight loving vodka for the first time last year as someone was offering tastings when I visited my local Specs. Was always curious if it was my ignorance that enjoyed the flavor or if it actually held up against other popular brands, and this video was the perfect analysis. 10/10
A lot of these vodkas aren't available in my rural area except for Tito's and ketel one I gotta try ketel one
Very enjoyable review! I drink Smirnoff No. 21, which I know is rather pedestrian, but serves my purposes.
Nice to see my favorite, the Stoli Elit, make a good showing. Wish I could get some of those Texas vodkas - they sound tasty!
Goodnight Loving Vodka is my favorite! Its so smooth.
I like the review. Great video. How about introducing Sotol to the viewers. Or , do a gin lineup review. A traditional potato vodka only review would also be quite interesting!
Great video, loved the blind ranking!
Glad you enjoyed it and cheers!
Enjoyed the review. I had 3 of these in my liquor cabinet so was able to sniff and taste a few along with you. Learning a lot! I was very curious about the Tower vodka, because it's always on some sort of special at the Total Wine and that's the only place I've seen it, so I appreciate the review.
Great to hear and cheers!
Really liked this blind test and ranking. I would love to see the same with rums
I'll see what I can do, but it'll take some time to gather them up. Thanks for the suggestion and cheers!
I am a big fan of Vodka I like trying different ones but Titos is always in the house. Thank you Sir for the review
Thanks for watching and cheers!
I literally drank over half a bottle of the Stoli Elite last night. It's literally Too Smooth. Dangerously smooth. It has a subtle sweetness. The least *rubbing alcoholy* vodka I've ever had.
Hello, I was wondering if you've heard of or tried Boyd and Blair vodka. It's a potato vodka made in Pennsylvania. It's quickly becoming my new favorite. If or whenever you do a new vodka review could you possibly include it. I'd be very curious to hear what you think of it. Oh and Happy New Year.
I have and it was in this vodka lineup review many years ago. ruclips.net/video/_FdA1OdMr-o/видео.htmlfeature=shared
I haven’t had it in so long, but am glad to hear it’s still good. Happy New Year and cheers!
wow purity from sweden was one of the first high quality vodkas i got to taste back in the days. nice to see it in usa
If you can get to Illinois, we have a huge liquor store chain called Binny's with its own house brand of wine and spirits, Clark and Sheffield. They have 3 different bourbons (small batch, single barrel, and bottled in bond), a vodka, and a blanco tequila under that label. I believe they're all sourced through Sazerac, although I'd love to see you take a look at some of their products on the channel. Haven't seen too many people talking about them other than Whiskey Vault reviewing their small-batch bourbon.
I should be up there this year. I’ll try and get hold of some. Thank you and cheers!
Great video yet again. Id love to see you do this with 12yo scotches or budget bourbons as well.
I’ll see what I can do, but it’ll take some time to acquire all the bottles. Thank you and cheers!
@@LiquorHound hey take your time, I'll have to see about signing up for your patreon as well. You make such great content. Makes me excited for spirits.
In future videos could you include the Belvedere smogory forest or Belvedere lake bartezek, I've seen positive reviews online and i would like to hear your opinion on them, also how about a video on the best vodkas made for sipping?
Zyr! Best for sipping!👍
I’ll include them in the next lineup! Cheers!
I’ll have it as well in my next lineup. Cheers!
Would’ve really liked to see the Kirkland French vodka included in this test.
I’ll try to pick one up when I’m out of Texas (since we don’t get them here). Cheers!
Awesome video, man! Do you prefer Reyka over Stoli Elit for drinking straight? Thanks!
Hmm, possibly. I really like the citrus notes and cleanliness of Elit, but my Reyka has more weight and flavor (from the wheat and barley). Cheers!
@@LiquorHound Thank you, kind sir! Cheers to you!
Great video. Thumbs up for more vodka content 👍
I really like tower vodka very smooth and tasty
If you haven't had this one already, Paczki day vodka from Detroit is back this month. Would love to see what you think of it
I’ll have to see if I can find a bottle. Thank you and cheers!
I like certain Vodkas with what I happen to like. for cranberry, OJ and Grapefruit I like Tito's or most corn base Vodkas. Martini it has to be Stoli Elit! But for a Vodka and Tonic. Chopin, Russian Standard. Neat with a lime I like Chopin.
Man we do not get these prices in the UK
Never include the Crystal Skull Vodka from Dan Aykroyd anymore? If I'm not mistaken, the last time you reviewed it, it tasted surprisingly good (only had a little bit of rubbing alcohol smell) and could be considered as one of the best vodka top players?
At $60, it’s not super easy to bring myself to buy it again, but I’ll try and include a new one in my next lineup. Cheers!
@@LiquorHound maybe that $60 price includes the premium price for the designer bottle it comes in :) I heard an empty crystal skull bottle can sell about $25 at eBay :)
Very odd your favorite from a couple years ago came in last place in the blind taste test lol
Have you ever *tried* Purity 34?
Based upon LiquorHound's tasting of 34 from some years ago, I (six months ago) picked up a 34 and, on two separate occasions, blinded it against Absolut Elyx and Stoli Elit. I ended up being *very* disappointed with the 34.
For the blinds, all three bottles were new purchases and opened at the same time. I did the first blind on the day the bottles were opened and the second blind a week later. For both blinds the 34 came in a distant third place, receiving a grade of "D" both times (on a school grade system of A-F, with "A" being best). The 34 was giving flavors of tea/tannic as well as strong pipe tobacco! (The Elyx and Elit did not have those flavors and were nothing out of the norm from what would be expected.)
So I don't know if I got a bad batch or what. Hard to imagine the 34 was *supposed to* taste like that nowadays but who knows. Maybe there's huge batch variation.
Purity has definitely had some batch variation issues over the years. In my early review of the two (34 & 51) I liked them in the exact opposite order as this one. Cheers!
Can you do a "Battle of the Bottled-in-Bonds"? Compare, and rank, as many BiB bourbons as you can find.
Great idea, and I’ll see what I can do. Thank you and cheers!
Russian Standard Gold/Platinum vs. Jewel of Russia
What would you choose?
I’d go Jewel of Russia myself. Cheers!
I would have loved to see Reyka vodka included.
I love that one, so I’ll try and make that happen! Cheers!
compare it all to grey goose please
It’ll be on the next one. Cheers!
Lukso is great
Awesome job.. you may need to lay down now tho..lol
Now if you added beluga to this line up, would it beat your number one?
To be honest, I don’t think the standard (or Transatlantic) Beluga would beat it. The Gold Line maybe, but for the price the Elit is stellar right now. Cheers!
no smirrnoff
fucking finally vodka :)....purity 34 is my favorite
Nappanukka,
I just finished off my first bottle of Purity 34 that I picked up a couple months back. I've sipped many different vodkas but never picked up a flavor like I got in the 34.
I don't know if I got a bad batch or what but ...
I compared the 34 in two blind flights that also included Absolut Elyx and Stoli Elit. Right away when I first tasted the 34 there was a bothersome odd flavor that I initially identified as tannic tea. Shortly after, that odd flavor seemed to be strong pipe tobacco. Not subtle at all! Further into the bottle it was sweet black tea or "tannic pipe tobacco." It was a strong component to the dram. After running the three-way flight on two different days, knowing there was no way I could enjoy sipping the 34, I removed the 34 from the flight.
Anyone else here tried the 34 and noticed anything like this or anything out of the ordinary?
@@bethereagainproductions6534 had a bottle of 34 like a year ago that had a weird taste to it. i usually enjoy it neat, but had to drink this with mixers. i haven't bought a bottle since, until a clp of weeks ago and it was back to it's normal delicious self
sri lanka
not a reyka fan anymore?
No, I’m definitely am still a fan. I’ll include a new bottle of it in my next blind vodka video. Cheers!
Tried more than hundred different vodkas, Reyka is still my #1
still no love for the tito's !
It's only vodka if it's from a slavic country.
