So I think this is the second time I have seen you on this property, all I can say is I can see why you are called for these big jobs. You do the job well, efficiently and I love the way you leave a job, CLEAN. SHOWS YOUR WORK ETHIC. Great job
First impressions are everything. Do a great job and you assure yourself of callbacks. You also develop a rapport with the customer, and he or she will recommend you to others. I think a large part of Andrew’s genius is that he instinctively understands these things. And this is, I think, how he grew his business. He probably spends next to nothing on advertising. For instance, his Ford dump truck has his name and profession on the door, but no phone number for interested parties to call. Were I him, I’d add the number. My bosses always picked up small, easy jobs (paving driveways) from people seeing the phone number. It costs little, can return a lot and is a mark of pride.
Hey Andrew I noticed your machine has what sounds like a hydraulic whine, I have an ex150 that did the same. In the hydraulic tank there is a mesh filter that clogs up, reach in there with your hand a pull it out, it has a handle on it you can grab. mine was dirty, after I cleaned it the machine got quiet and had so much more power.
AstronomyToday Really had a Lincoln Town Car with a blocked vacuum mesh filter once; the performance difference was astounding... went out and whipt 2 Honda’s arses.
Another good job, Andrew. Congratulations. His skill with the excavator was again demonstrated. I noticed that your pickup truck was much needed in this job, it pulled a lot of weight. Good job.
I appreciate all the work you put into these vids, changing the camera angles, commenting and explaining, drone shots all keep your vids interesting and a pleasure to watch...all the while trying to work and get these jobs completed....thanks for all you effort. And all the editing and adding great music.
I came across your vids when u first started and now I have seen every one ..ive even gotten my wife watching lol ..I have a small construction business and do the same things as you so nothing here is new to me but I love watching your attention to the details you do great work and go beyond what a lot of people would and I appreciate that...its great that you take the time to make your vids hope you inspire other people to put pride into their work as u do ..keep it up thanks
Andrew i would give maybe a word of caution. throw a chain on the bucket before you trailer excavators . the hydros have the ability to ratchet up on you while in transit . this is how a lot of bridges end up getting hit by excavators ( you check your height before you leave and your good but 15 miles down the road your a foot taller since the hydros decided ratcheted up on you) the code number is 393.130 .(i work a little with bridges the cost of fixing a damaged beam is extravagant)
If we had a hundred people just like you, anything could be achieved. Talk about a can do quiet achiever. You are magnificent Andrew. Cheers from Australia.
Yeah this dude has mad skills on his equipment. I don’t operate for a living but I occasionally rent equipment to do work around my homestead. Most of the technique I use while operating comes from watching Andrew.
Excellent Job Andrew !!!! With each passing project the work gets better. I'm impressed by your reclamation leaving the land as it was prior to disturbing it is important.
I always thought that hay keeps the wind from blowing grass seed away, hides the seed from birds and other animals that will eat it, and keeps the seed in place during rain. I also thought It added nutrients to the soil as it breaks down.
It's amazing how many people don't know the main purpose of hay or straw or mushroom manure (in my neck of the woods), including professional landscapers. It's to prevent the soil from drying out too quickly so the grass seed has a better chance of surviving. And there's a BIG difference between hay and straw. There are places where you would want to use one over the other. Again, most people couldn't tell you the difference between a straw or hay bale. You don't have to use a mulch if you keep your soil well watered.
AND in steeper slope areas, straw mulch is used for erosion control. The rains falling energy is expended on the straw, not breaking up the soil beneath. Odds are against grass seed germination without a covering of some kind, as per Anton above ^^^^^
The hay does three things: 1) retains a moist environment to help the seeds germinate, 2) prevents seeds from blowing away, and 3) prevents birds from eating the seeds (they're like a bird delicacy). Unfortunately, the hay also brings non-indiginous weeds, and takes a while to break down. They have really great seed products now that are coated for moisture retention without the weed risks. Birds, however, may always be a problem. They're crafty.
Don't forget not only can he accomplish everything he sets out to do BUT he dose it by his self. Yes we worry about him but we trust his ability and common sense. Just keep doing what you doing Andrew.
Hay or straw over seed does numerous things. It shades the new growth, prevents sunburn and drying. Retains moisture and keeps birds from the seeds and deer from the new growth. I like your videos. It seems you know just the right spots to cut, edit and then continue with the kind of stuff we wanna see, so they’re never boring.
Pro Tip: Use a 4' straight log for grading. Grab onto the log using your thumb and use the log as a grader blade. It makes quick work of grading and leaves a smooth finish.
But you get your log dirty. No one wants a dirty log. Lol I drag the blade backwards and track it in a lil. The track marks help hold the seed in from washing away. Another sweet job Andrew.
We do the same thing with a 'mop pole'.. a 6 inch piece of steel pipe, 8 to 10 ft long, with a slot cut out for the bucket teeth and a piece of angle iron welded on for the tongue to grab.. That way, you get more surface area to work with.. Works great for grading and smoothing all types of material..
Great videos Andrew! The purpose of the hey on top of newly seeded lawn is to provide shadow while the grass seeds are starting to grow, so the soil doesn't get too dry before the grass starts to grow. ;)
Hey Andrew, Nice Job and nice video! I seen people using a car hood as a skid to pull a log out of the woods. Provides the log from getting caught up. Might protect the ground too. Just as an idea. Looking forward to the next video
Unbelievable! You got all of that hard work accomplished in under 40 minutes! Really though, great job and thanks for sharing it with us.Almost makes me want to un-retire...almost.
Great job 👍. It’s always amazing at all the safety concerns and comments. People look at these videos with the wrong mentality. Rather than seeing A guy getting it done and making a living doing things they can’t they have to make comments based on there own lack of skills.
only thing I saw that could get him in trouble is not having a chain around the arm of the excavator. Here its a $300 fine if it doesn't cause property damage or $1000 if it does. Id rather spend the $70 on a chain and binder than pay more money cause of something stupid
Brian Wymer’s Handy Man Service And the lesson is know what ur talking about before u make a fool of yourself and stick ur foot in ur mouth , tell em Brian 😉😂😂
Amen Brian. He constantly has me wanting to preach pre-caution however he works just like my brother (super do'er also) does so I just shut my mouth and watch shit get done!
I have found your channel and been watching for at least 6 months now and Absolutely love your work ethic, From Operating to being careful with property owners, Looks like you go above what you were paid to do. It's satisfying to watch and learn so much in the process. Thanks so much, Take Care my Friend
Logistics. Andrew, how do you refuel (also hydraulic fluids, etc.) whilst you are on the job away from your castle? I've seen 5 gal. jerry cans, but it seems too little for the hours you put in. Thanks for your time and trouble filming for us to follow your adventures!
Another outstanding job .... I honestly don't know how you do it , you are a serious multi tasker , Kicking a** and taking names . I also have a F800 Dump , Great little truck , turns much better than my Peterbilt , That's for sure . Thanks for being an encouragement and mentor .
Great work. I clearly see how that EX100 is very useful as you mentioned in another video. Incredible machine. That bucket and thumb are fantastic for holding logs to buck them up as they'll be off the ground. Nice oak...someone will be warm with that wood...Cheers
Another great video. Andrew I am one your "newbie" fans. What a brilliant guy you are. While other vlogers scramble for content you are going about your business, but taking the time to set every shot, to be action packed...moving...or something interesting. You enhance your footage even more with overall views of the job sight with drone footage to give the viewer a better overall prospective of the sight. Combining that with excellent editing you come out with a always fascinating perspective of what would otherwise be common mundane activities. If you most always work solo, you must spend a lot of time setting up camera shots. The route-en viewer has no idea hoe much time and effort goes into your vlogs. This is just another example of a masterful job well done. No wonder your channel is growing by leaps and bounds. Well done Andrew.....well done.
Still too many trees too close to house for my taste. They don't seem to have very large or deep roots so any coulf fall in good wind. Neat job and very tidy finishing up.
Agreed about your camera work. Makes it interesting pulling in more than one camera getting different angles. Notice U don't do it all the time undoubtedly because of the degree of planing an extra hands you may use. Which leads to the drone work,...Question: when you pull away from the quarry with your full load who's driving the truck and who's flying the bird? Figured it could be as easy as someone riding shotgun And flying the drone. Still and all it's quite a trick and I think it's cool that you don't explain away all your exceptional movie making skills. Keeps us guessing and appreciating all the time, effort, & passion U put into sharing what you obviously love to do. Or is it play with...? Mahalo PS: Am a veteran landscaper from Oahu 30 years now. Growing up in Northern California am fascinated with you being in upstate NY and staying so busy....! Am really missing the mountains so enjoy watching your videos...
In the Northeast we tend to have shallow topsoil sitting on bedrock so this isn't uncommon. If given a chance, trees will definitely try to establish deeper roots
If you watch the video about how he got started I think I understand now why everything kept breaking down on him....he works the heck out of everything he owns! But he gets the job done.
Man! Did that ever bring back memories of what both my property and my neighbors' property looked like after Hurricane Michael went through. I lost fourteen trees on my property alone, thankfully none landed on the house but my workshop and storage building got wrecked by a huge one that belonged to my next door neighbor. Many, many weeks and a lot of chainsaw bars, chains and fuel before it was all over. Equipment and operators were so scarce after the storm that doing it all by hand was the only way many of us got our land cleaned up. Guys with stump grinding machines were worth their weight in gold. I love watching the way Andrew makes things look so easy.
The Arkle Looks like the trees have outgrown the height of that balcony but the drone footage shows it is spectacular. Perhaps future tree removals for Andrew to regain that view.
Looks like a widow's walk, or some call them a widow's watch when it's enclosed. From some old folklore that the wives of sailors would anxiously await their husbands' arrival home, they would watch from the highest point at home overlooking the harbor or sea for their husband's ship to return to port. And if it never came back (there was a lot of ships lost in the early days), the wives would becomes widows.
Hey Andrew, nice work that you do. Your like a plastic surgeon with your heavy equipment. The heavy equipment is your scalpel..Your very precise when you need to be. It's great watching you do your work almost mesmerizing. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
Was that really him? I thought it was just random footage that his cams picked up of the homeowners kid or a neighboring kid. Didn't think AC had a scooter....
That driveway was like a mile long, I didn't want to go in there with the truck trailer so I drove the machine in, and drove the scooter back out to the truck.
It WAS you !! Well, not sure whether to say sorry or not, but I'll admit that I laughed a bit at it, too.... just honestly thought it was someone else. Might be time to get my eyes checked for glasses...
Yeah that was awesome. Then I was thinking about the trouble Andrew went to to set up the tripod, ride by on the scooter, then come back and get the camera. Your camera work is stellar, Andrew!
Man, most of the people making negative comments must live in the city, and buy their pre-cut wood from HD, have their cute little box trailer, towed behind their cute little SUV. This is called getting done. Look at the construction of Alaska pipeline and how it was done, have the 27K people working there were high or drunk half the time. Not to say you shouldn't take care, but the guy can move a trailer and picnic table with and excavator, I think he has a handle on things.
I hate HD wood. It's usually slash grade, meaning full of knotholes, chunks missing, rarely do you get a clean board unless you search and search for them.
Down South, the straw is there to keep the birds from stealing the seeds, help hold in moisture, and to keep the seed from washing away during rainstorms. Loved the video.
Land Home & Lawn Services I did a video titled how I got started in excavation which answers that question really well. First piece was a John Deere 1010 dozer that I bought because I need it
I try to watch at least one or two of Andrews video's every day, they are all awesome and sometimes I get my questions answered before asking LOL / I hope I never run out of Andrew vids
GREAT JOB DREW WITH ANOTHER WELL DONE JOB ON THE VIDEO,MUSIC AND WORK THAT WAS DONE ON THIS SITE. BY THE WAY THE HAY PLACED ON TOP OF NEWLY SEEDED SOIL ALSO KEEPS THE BIRDS FROM EATING THE SEEDS UNTIL THE GRASS TAKES OFF AND STARTS TO REALLY GROW! GREAT JOB! I'M A BIG FAN.
Back for a second look at this video (in the last 6 mos, I think I've watched over 90% of Andrews videos!), and I have to say the most interesting part is when the Mavic Pro hovers stationary over the action, while its in progress! That piece of equipment really adds a unique perspective to this series. I always love to see the Hitachi in action too (means something big is happening. Love the high, "Let's Go to the Next Job" endings I had no idea NewYork state was so wooded; must be an amazing place to live.
jospi2 Trees only root as deep as needed for water and this area appears to be fairly wet with the stream right there. Some trees are very shallow rooted by nature but trees like these hardwoods can go deeper to reach water.
I thought the same. I showed the video of the triple tree with very shallow roots to my wife. I was surprised at how flat the ground was under the roots. Makes you wonder how the trees dont just fall over as it seems there is not a lot holding them in place. I know the roots go out further, and Andrew had cut/ dug through some on one side, but they do get thinner towards the tips.
It is an absolutely beautiful area you live and work in!!! I just loved so many parts in this video! Riding back on the motorized scooter was a riot! :) I am amazed at how easy you make it look operating the huge machinery, looks like an extension of your body, you gently move and smooth things like you were using your hands, simply amazing to watch!! And pulling the truck and full trailer out with no problem!!!! (mind blowing!) I about lost it when you effortlessly moved the camper with the bucket on the big crane (I guess you call it)! Just love watching you work, looks like there aren't many things you can't do. Peace and good fortune to you!
Andrew... 70 year old here, never drove any construction machinery.. I love your videos and made skill level with all your equipment. keep it up. very entertaining
Andrew would do fine in homecare as well: combing hair with this Hitachi 🤣 I admire his skils in handling these powerfull tools. Impressive ! Sidenote: I am an electronics engineer but fully agree with Andrew and many of you on the stupidifying use of computers. I am very fond of my vintage motorbike which has hardly any electronics: just electronic ignition. Which adds to the reliability. Greetings from the Netherlands 🤝
Andrew, Instead of using hay on the grass seed here in the south, we use wheat straw. It's usually cheaper than hay and it doesn't deteriorate as quickly.
Hi from Moscow. It is signed on your canal and I have pressed a hand bell. I watch with pleasure your videos and where brought trunks of the cut trees, to firewood or to a power-saw bench? Didn't see at you the grinder of trunks and branches, you have it?
Another job well done, Andrew! Here in my area in Arkansas they use a boom truck and cut the tree down in sections and lower each section to the ground with a pulley. Tree removal here is expensive too. About the cheapest I ever heard recently is $500 and then the stump grinding is extra on top of that. But most tree services here charge at least $1000 per tree and I've even heard of some charging $3000 per tree. I've had one tree removed on my half acre lot, in 2012, and it cost me $1400, but that included trimming and topping some of the other trees. I've still got 9 trees ... 8 oaks and 1 Bradford Pear Tree .... and I would like to have 3 of them removed in the near future .... before I have a new roof put on my house. When you own a home it's always something. I try to do as much as I can myself, but for the big jobs I hire someone.
They didn't move anything out of the way. They may be either lazy, abusive, wealthy or disable. Hey! maybe all of the above (scratch disable, please). Good eye Stephen.
My observation is this. Connect to the log in a way that you can lift the log about a foot off the ground at the attachment point. To do this you will need weight in the bucket which should give you greater traction. You always lift the but end off the ground when you use the excavator to drag the logs...do the same thing with the tractor. Great videos.
Andrew, One thing I've notice about the Jobs you undertake is that they all have the Signature Appearance after you've finished a job it 's better than you found it...Keep up the Great work Oh I almost for got the Drone flying static above the job site while the trees were going down away from the house...Very Cool
Thank you for answering my questions. I really didn't expect a reply because I thought they would be intrusive, but youdo a lot of things that we don't expect ! ? Thanks for being straight forward and direct . I can handle bees , but you are correct wasps and yellow jackets tend to come after you no matter how fast and far you can run ! lol As a older gentleman now I always wore my hearing protection working around jets and aircraft and at home using loud equipment. I am thankful I didbecause I still have good hearing, eyes, and all of my fingers function as they should. . Protect your eyes, hands, and ears now.I know there a lot of us out here that appreciate you taking the time for getting in and out of your heavy equipment to shoot the video scenes in the proper perspective, sequence and camera positioning. Look forward to upcoming stories and the drone shots ! Watching LEVI eat whipped cream out of a spray can was pretty funny stuff ! Regards from Kansas
The main reason for using hay is that it holds moisture which will keep the seeds damp. It's not as important here b/c of the trees, but it also protects seeds by filtering any direct sunlight which is hard on new growth.
Any time there's an interruption of service (i.e shutting the gas off at the tank) a leak check is "required" before service is reinstated "tank turned back on." Other than that, keep up the good work!
Good show mate! I have a Kubota L2501 with a BH77 backhoe and I love it. But after seeing that excavator pushing over oak trees and picking up the stumps like frisbees, I went on craigslist looking for a good used one. I have a two car garage. I wonder how long it will take the wife to notice it.
Anyone else binge watching Andrew's videos ?
No matter what you charge, you definitely earned it! You don’t see many people these days that work as hard as you do Andrew, bless you my friend!
I like the more open feel and sunlight shining down on the tables and chairs. Good job!
I just love that Ford dump truck so much. I think it's cuz despite all the wear and tear, it just gets it done. Kinda looks badass too.
agree, but im waiting for it to get stuck also, almost allways happens and gets dealt with. great stuff.

Andrew Camarata has just pushed down the oak trees away from the house, using a 1995 Hitachi EX100 excavator.

Andrew, you are a first class operator. You spend nickles when other people spend dollars. Good luck to you.
I have found your channel and been watching for at least 6 months now and Absolutely love your work ethic, From Operating to being careful with
property owners, Looks like you go above what you were paid to do. It's satisfying to watch and learn so much in the process. Thanks so much,
Take Care my Friend
Logistics. Andrew, how do you refuel (also hydraulic fluids, etc.) whilst you are on the job away from your castle? I've seen 5 gal. jerry cans, but it seems too little for the hours you put in. Thanks for your time and trouble filming for us to follow your adventures!
10 to 15 gallons in those small machine will last over a day at full rpm. 12 hour shift in my big 986 loader running hard only burns under 70 gal.
Another outstanding job .... I honestly don't know how you do it , you are a serious multi tasker , Kicking a** and taking names . I also have a F800 Dump , Great little truck , turns much better than my Peterbilt , That's for sure . Thanks for being an encouragement and mentor .
Nice job Andrew. Just received your T-shirt this past week, thanks for that quick delivery. 👍👍👍👍
You're welcome
Thanks.
Mahalo
PS: Am a veteran landscaper from Oahu 30 years now. Growing up in Northern California am fascinated with you being in upstate NY and staying so busy....! Am really missing the mountains so enjoy watching your videos...
Nice of the homeowner to help you out and move his camper. No tap roots on those trees so easy to push over. His L.P. tank looks old.. Good clean up
I don't really care what you do....all your videos are entertaining!
I second that !!! 👍 😂🤣
i third that
i fourth that
I have never seen trees with so shallow roots! Super clean up!
In the Northeast we tend to have shallow topsoil sitting on bedrock so this isn't uncommon. If given a chance, trees will definitely try to establish deeper roots
Go Ahead , Make My Day ! ...Andrew , You always make my Day !
I love the quality of your videos and the detail of your jobs. You know how to make customers happy. I wish you well.
You sure do work the heck out of that old Dodge
He works the heck out of everything ???
If you watch his How I got into excavation video you'll see, that old Dodge was supposed to be just a parts car but it stayed :)
If you watch the video about how he got started I think I understand now why everything kept breaking down on him....he works the heck out of everything he owns! But he gets the job done.
No kidding!
Never mind the Dodge, what about that trailer!
Not only are you a wizard at machinery, your soundtrack music is spot on. We like watching you work.
I was nerves as hell when you moved the air stream 😂
That house looked awesome. I'll bet it's nice to stand on that topmost balcony thing. Never seen anything like that.
The Arkle
Looks like the trees have outgrown the height of that balcony but the drone footage shows it is spectacular.
Whata difference clearing those trees out. So much more inviting. Keep up the great work Andrew!
Ha ha ha>>> I love the "Bigger Hammer" approach. Truck stuck? Pull it with the Excavator. ;)
Andrews own recovery machine. lol. He handles his machines so well. :)
That had me cracking up! that's the same approach my father taught me. Soon as I saw the truck spinning tires, i thought, "this is gonna; get good!"
Love it how you take pride in your work leaving it looking good after a happy customer make more customer's
Good work. Try undercutting on those logs a little and they won’t bust one ya as bad and save a couple logs.

Hey Andrew, nice work that you do. Your like a plastic surgeon with your heavy equipment. The heavy equipment is your scalpel..Your very precise when you need to be. It's great watching you do your work almost mesmerizing. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
I died of laughter on the scooter scene. I’ve always wondered how you get around between machines while you’re alone. 🤣👌
Really enjoyed mowing that field! Yes that is one long driveway!
Brilliant. I liker the way you cleaned up after yourselves, Great Job.

Andrew is amazing! He can landscape with ANY piece of equipment! My knees would buckle from fear taking down trees leaning toward the house!!
Nice to see a job where the Hitachi was used.
Alan Hutchins That trailer though lol
He def gets his moneys worth out of it.
Down South, the straw is there to keep the birds from stealing the seeds, help hold in moisture, and to keep the seed from washing away during rainstorms. Loved the video.
What was your first piece of equipment and what first inspired you to get into your line of work? Thanks for the reply and video.
Damn good job, I would hire you in a heartbeat! Keep at it like that and you can't fail.
Your videos had given me a new way of how I view trees.
nice work as usual Andrew, that's a great haul of timber you got.
Also it keeps the seed damp and help from birds eating it. You did a great job !!! I have lots of trees I need to remove
Me eating lunch watching andrew new video priceless.....Satisfying.. :)
So many little laugh moments. Like the auto closing glass when unloading at the beginning. Or how you towed/lifted your truck.
Thanks for sharing!
If Levi was watching you maneuver the big log at 28:45, he now knows how to bring a long stick through his doggy door.
Interesting to see that these trees have such shallow roots. Is it because of the ground?
jospi2
Trees only root as deep as needed for water and this area appears to be fairly wet with the stream right there.
I think it was a big rock under that tree.
Bed rock under the tree.
Have you ever thought about getting yourself a “logging arch“? It seems like you do enough of this type of work to justify getting one.
Andrew the quality of work you do it outstanding. I'm actually bummed-out that I don't live up your way to hire you and experience it first hand.
Nice job ,thx for sharing 💕💕❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💕💕💕❤️
Andrew would do fine in homecare as well: combing hair with this Hitachi 🤣
I admire his skils in handling these powerfull tools.
Nice job man! Keep up the hard work
Andrew, Instead of using hay on the grass seed here in the south, we use wheat straw.
How could the owners not move that Airstream!!!!
Sooo are we just not gonna talk about that scooter at 1:43?
Lol. Probably something made.
He has a video of getting that one and others running after sitting for a long time !
Andrew, One thing I've notice about the Jobs you undertake is that they all have the Signature Appearance after you've finished a job it 's better than you found it...Keep up the Great work Oh I almost for got the Drone flying static above the job site while the trees were going down away from the house...Very Cool
I enjoyed your video and got so tired watching that after it was done I took a nap.
All logs skid better if you can get the leading edge up off the ground.. thus not plowing dirt in front of the log either.. great job..cleaning ip .
I bet if that dodge could talk we could get some good stories lol
Man i laughed so hard at this
Especially the story about how the car stereo was installed :)
If that Dodge could talk it would make you cry.
POOR TRUCK lol
I thought he was going to bury it in the woods next to the old stumps.
That makes a safe job out of an unsafe tree falls.
The main reason for using hay is that it holds moisture which will keep the seeds damp.
It's not as important here b/c of the trees, but it also protects seeds by filtering any direct sunlight which is hard on new growth.
Nice of you to move the Airstream for them.
Any time there's an interruption of service (i.e shutting the gas off at the tank) a leak check is "required" before service is reinstated "tank turned back on." Other than that, keep up the good work!
I must say, you're really using your machines and your equipment to their maximum capacity..... And then some! lol
And then some lol
That's not difficult of a task for that size excavator at all.
@@verteup Funny enough, the excavator was the only thing I wasn't talking about! lol
Sometimes I wonder if he is angry with them.
